I take my girl, Lilah, to Stephanie at the Paw Tender for her haircuts. I just have to start by saying that Lilah can be quite a handful, so I greatly appreciate anyone who can handle her with ease. And Stephanie definitely fits the bill! Every time I pick Lilah up from her, she is in such a happy and clean state, not to mention sporting an amazing haircut.But here's what sets Stephanie apart from other groomers - she truly takes the time to get to know your dog and understand what kind of haircut you want for them. It's like she forms a special bond with each furry client.During this last visit in October, Stephanie even arranged a Halloween photoshoot for Lilah! I can't decide if I'm more blown away by the grooming or the photography, because both are absolutely amazing. 10/10!!

Amazing team at Pfenning Lane Animal Hospital. From when I walked in to make an appointment to the day of the actual appointment always felt like I had been going to them for years. Every team member greeted with us, shared a some personal humor and put us at ease. It has that old small town feel and not the rushed in rushed out atmosphere. The Vet and the attendee took time to get to know us and what we were experiencing. We have a special needs pup and the Vet screened through all the documents we had asked questions before ever making any judgement calls. Without a doubt the BEST team of vets I could have ever hoped or imagined!

A Pack Nation Dog Training

After one private lesson, our large, 2.5 year old Great Dane mix (Brandy) got over her habit of agressively going after other dogs while walking. Peter recommended a different collar, and trained me how better to walk Brandy. It is really like magic! I had started to dread our walks, and now they are wonderful. I can't recommend Peter too highly, and we will be hiring him to help us with other training needs.

First time having Cuban food and IT WAS DELICIOUS. Had a chicken sandwich which was so good that made me order another item. So got a pizza with chicken which was again (hot but) amazing. Had a hommade caramel flan and guava smoothie which was PERFECT. The girl with the glasses at the front (forgot to ask her name) was super helpful. Definitely coming back again.

The absolute antithesis of a trendy hot spot, this old school holdout on a dusty warehouse-lined road is the antidote to the over-hyped, over-priced bars downtown. It's definitely a destination, in the sense that you're not going to just stumble across it on your next walk. I happen to love this vibe. The crowd skews a bit older, despite the fact that cocktails range from $8 - 10. When I went, it was chill, and a big country band was out jamming on the gazebo. There's also a smaller stage indoors. They brew/distill everything on sight and I've been told there are sporadic tours, which I really want in on. Hopefully those start up again soon! I know I'll be back for a bottle of whiskey, regardless.

Red's Smoking BBQ
