“This little post office in our neighborhood is just the best! Always a friendly greeting when we open the door, and always a, “How can I help you?” The post people who work in this post office are so nice and they understand exactly what we need as soon as they are made aware why we’re there. From stamps to sending packages, or shopping the greeting card and magnet section, they are ready to help. Recently I had to go to another P.O. a few miles away. No one spoke at all as people came in and lined up for service. Some of us were treated with total indifference, and some with curt answers. Why is that? What makes the difference? Why do the guys at our little P.O. treat their customers with civility instead of rudeness?

“The iconic store in Chinatown, the only Chinese USPS I know, is also the first time I have seen a bookstore and post office combined. It is very convenient to send letters. Please note that the opening hours are 12:00-6:00.”

“Without question the most efficient and friendly post office in Houston. This location has THE BEST customer service. Everyone polite, professional, courteous and friendly. Even with a line--still a great experience. I am equidistant to this location and the one on Timmons and always choose this one over Timmons because of the amazing employees. The other location does not compare. Each one of these employees is a true asset to the USPS. Wish every branch was like this one!”

“Yesterday I had a pleasant experience at the post office on Bellaire . I went in to do my passport, and it was an easy ordeal. The guy who helped me with a black guy can’t remember his name, but he was really funny, personable and excited to help me, I would recommend the Belair location to do your passport you could even take your picture there and the cost wasn’t that much $180 is nothing.”

“To be honest, I was kinda wondering if I should go to this USPS location after I saw some negatives service reviews on Google. Thinking of just shipping a box of medicines and nail supply to my brother’s place won’t take that much time and service doesn’t have to be nice, I went to this USPS on 07/31/24 around 10am.

What really impressed me at first that the place wasn’t crowded comparing to the same time, same purpose of dropping and shipping the box at the USPS location nearby. Service was fast, everyone was enthusiastic helping, getting stuff done for the customers.

I was finding the priority tag to write down my bro’s address and stuck it on my prepared box, Mitchell told me the flat rate priority box will save me more shipping money, which surprised me since I’ve been packing my own box for many many times and no one ever told me that the USPS box is more savings.

What even amazed me and my brain more is that Mitchell actually helped me unpack my own prepared box and put it in the new USPS box. I was stunned. (sorry Mitchell, if one point you see me standing and staring without saying anything xD). I’ve never experienced this much nice and enthusiastic environment, especially USPS where everyone was just rushing and tiring looking at you and your package.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. You’ve made my day, Mitchell and the Alief USPS team this Wednesday morning. I am truly appreciated. Definitely will go to this location from now on.”

“I’m not sure why the reviews are bad. The ladies at the front and the Asian gentleman in the back are incredibly kind! Have been going to them and they’re always incredibly pleasant. Truly a pleasure to see them and go to this facility as opposed to the other ones!”

I'm looking at it from another point of view.. customers come in UNPREPARED, holding up the line, they are told what they need to do and they still want to argue with the PROFESSIONAL and tell them what to do..its The UNITED STATES POST OFFICE NOT UPS, where they package everything up for you. You are supposed to be PREPARED when you go up to the counter. The USPS does not supply tape to tape up a whole box, it has to be purchased or use the free tape for priority service, but of course many get upset when they are told this. Hope this helps for the other side of the spectrum!”

“I went in to ask a question about a package that had arrived the day before to DeMoss; it was stuck at the North Houston distribution packaging center for over a week. I wanted to make sure I would receive that day as it was my medicine. The USPS man told me exactly where it was, and gave me a timeframe of the delivery. I was so relieved and thankful that I went home and prepared a present! I waited outside patiently and when the mail person arrived, he exchanged the mail for presents. I really hope he realizes how thankful I am for their service! We rely so much on USPS, and they work diligently despite setbacks. You are appreciated!!!!!!!”

I see some people complaining about the lunch time and the business hours, here is what people need to understand, this post office is not huge like the other post offices so there’s only one person works for this place since its too small. The lady works in the post office really friendly and helpful, Just approach her with a great smile thats all u need to do.”

“Because of all the negative posts about this particular post office, I almost didn't go there to mail my pkg. Because I don't give much credibility to everything I see on social media, I went there. I used the kiosk to create the postage for my package and it worked fine but when I attempted to put the pkg in the drop, I couldn't get it open so I had to stand in the line anyway. The line moved fairly quickly and then I reached the worker who was very kind to explain to me that my postage was incorrect and why. Also he processed my pkg very quickly with the difference in postage costs and I was out of there. Also my pkg was received in two days.The only issue is that the outside drop boxes have been moved but the directions are wrong. The neighborhood has declined remarkably so maybe drop boxes are not safe.”

“We had a passport appointment at 11:15 and were seen by 11:30. Ms.Mona was absolutely nice and made the process seamless. She made copies of the supporting documents, provided us with the money order to pay for the fees and ensured the application was complete. Great experience!”

So this location has a new person working there full time and she is wonderful! She is the beautiful black lady with glasses. Ever since I've seen her work there, this post office is just run that much better. It's amazing what one person can do! Packages are getting scanned on time. Lines move much quicker. And people seem more upbeat as to uptight then when the previous lady worked there. Yes, I know the gentleman with the Panama hat sometimes doesn't seem like he has the best customer service, but he knows what he is doing and he will help you. He also seems a bit more upbeat since the new lady started working there too.

The higher ups maybe listening. This location has gotten better over time. They now have someone out in the lobby during rush hour directing traffic, accepting pre-labeled packages, and answering questions which speeds up everything so much more. They also actually have more then 1 person working the front now too! Thank you for improving and listening.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION IF POSSIBLE!!! YOU WILL HAVE A BAD DAY AFTER THE SERVICE YOU GET HERE!! If I could give this location 0 stars I would. The worst post office I have ever been to and it sucks b/c this one is right next to my business. There is always long lines and only 1 person working the front most of the time. The workers at this location seem miserable that they are there.

I tried to drop off 10 packages today and the lady behind the counter (African-American lady, short hair, reading glasses, has been working there for some time now, was not able to get her name) reads the return address and tells me that I have to drop the packages off at the USPS location that services my zip code. Mind you I have dropped off packages at this location before without any problems and to the same lady. I attempted to tell her that this was weird b/c I have dropped off packages here before with the same return address numerous times before. She tells me it is not weird and she would not accept the packages. I have never heard or experienced a post office not accepting packages b/c the return address was not within the boundary they serve. And this location is right next to my business!

Also,there is even a note at the front of the line saying the workers there appreciate a smile and a thank you from their customers. When it was my turn, I smiled, said hello, and asked her how she was. She never once smiled. She never smiles. I always remember her bc she always seems miserable.

I've had bad experiences with this location before where I've waited 30-60 minutes just to drop off packages and get my scan sheet scanned when 1 worker is working the front and there are like 10 people in line. You see other postal workers there and hear them talking, but they don't care if there is 1 person or 10 people, they just don't care and won't help you.

I went to the one on 6500 DeMoss Drive and automatically you can see the difference in the workers attitudes. Everyone at the DeMoss location was smiling and they had 3 people working the front with 1 person working the line to see if anyone is just picking or dropping off packages. This is how it should be done. It just sucks b/c the DeMoss location is 15-20 minutes away from my business whereas this one (Westchase) is like 3 minutes, but I will now go to the extra mile to go this one just to avoid that miserable place they call a post office. Horrible!!

“Not sure what’s going on with this office. But I haven’t been told my packages are delivered but I haven’t been receiving them. Kindly enough blaylock came into my mailroom and opened every single box to see if my package was misplace. We weren’t able to find it but appreciate her efforts and dedication to be a helpful problem solving person. She definitely deserves better to be honest. She’s the only reason I’m even giving them 4 stars.”

“In January and February, Ms. Margie went above and beyond to help me get my packages. She kept her word, found my packages, called me just like she said she would. I changed my review from a 1 to a 5 for this post office all because of Ms. Margie's customer service. I sure hope she is there today when I go to the post office.”
