The bakery is my favorite part because of all the fresh bread they produce. I recommend checking out the cakes and pastries because those fruit tarts are to die for!”

“I have been to a lot of grocery stores and I’ve never been compelled to write a review. I’ve also been to a number of Harris Teeter locations equally unmotivated to write a review. HOWEVER, I had to pause and not just saying praises about this particular location, but I have consistently received extraordinary customer service at this Harris Teeter ALEXANDRIA location. Tonight was no exception, but it was VERY special.

I had an online order that I placed and scheduled for pick up around my regular time to get off of work. I am the Director of community relations in a very vibrant and bustling senior living community and my day did not end at the time I anticipated. I missed my pick up window and when I tried to check in, I was not able to so I thought that I would just reschedule and pick it up another time the associate handling my order named Kenneth went above and beyond to make sure that I received what I ordered. I have seen Kenneth many times in the store before today and he is always serving with that same positivity that has been my experience consistently and I had to share today that it isn’t the product on the shelf that makes a person a loyal customer. It’s the way that they are treated and I am happy to say that I’ve always had a great experience at this Harris Teeter so kudos to the team and a big thank you to Kenneth because he truly made my day.”

TL:DR - Hiring process is crap and annoying to deal with, Hispanic section is good, and their donuts are AMAZING.
Come here AT LEAST for the donuts, fr worth it.

8 of my friends (9 including me) never got any kind of response when we applied to work here, plus the managers always seemed to mysteriously unavailable to be spoken to.
I've literally called the store, got told to call back the next morning, called the next morning, "Manager on vacation" :/
when will they be back? " X date." Thanks so much.
Called back on X date, "She'll be here tomorrow morning" thanks.
Calls back tomorrow morning, "Hi, not here. Call again tomorrow morning."
At which point I came INTO THE STORE to speak with this elusive hiring manager, just to be told that they were on vacation and won't be back for a while.

So suffice to say, hiring process seems messy, outdated, unreliable, and flat out non-functional at times.
The website needs to be updated, the employees need proper customer service training because regardless of what I'm calling about, and who's answering, it's always in a tone that sounds like I might aswell be interrupting a neurosurgeon mid incision.

The only redeeming quality of this store is what it sells, and I'm not talking standard groceries.
Not only does Shoppers have a decent spread of hispanic foods, ingredients, drinks & snacks, but it's also got some of, if not THE BEST donuts you could buy from a store.

The donut chains like Dunkin or Krispy Kreme got nothing on SFW donuts, they got Croissant donuts (Cronuts), marble iced, Holland Creme (my favorite), jam filled, lemon pudding filled, boston creme, and of course all your standard donut types like powdered, brown sugar, plain and glazed, not to even mention some specialty ones they have on occasion like the apple pie filled brown sugar, or marbled icing cronuts.
Plus they're reasonably priced, which automatically raises the rating for me.

“I have dealt with this particular pharmacy for many years ( Kingstown location ) . The staff has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable, especially Khadija and Kram . They have always gone above and beyond my expectations in terms of explaining and making the process that much easier.

“Everybody is always so friendly and helpful at this store. I only started shopping at the store back in March and I don't know if I have ever shopped at a grocery store where the staff has been so friendly and really seem to be happy with their job. At first I just thought I was lucky to get an exceptionally happy and helpful person, but over the last 5 months it has proven to be a consistent experience. I love going to this Giant location!”

“I have always had excellent experiences with this pharmacy! They always take great care of filling my prescriptions, and when I have sent patients of mine for compound prescriptions, of my pediatric patients, they have taken care of it immediately. They are genuinely nice people.”

“This place is my primary grocery store since I live so close. Clean and organized and the employees are helpful. Three concerns are 1) they only ever have soda sales for like buy one 12 pack get two half off. That isn't easy for someone w out a car and it seems to result in the least affluent customers being unable to take advantage. I am not sure if sales are set at the store or by the vendor (Pepsi or coke for example) 2) their vegan options seem to have decreased over time which is pretty frustrating given I am vegan and would like options to be available. E.g. **tiny** selection of meat replacements, frozen pizza, and I struggle to find nutritional yeast or non ice cream dessert options. Small concern I guess but Giant, Wegmans and Whole Foods seem to have more. 3) paper bag stocks are unpredictable. One day they have an excess and the next the only option is plastic. I don't take bags w me every time I shop but bc I use paper bags to hold my recycling it's a bit annoying and plastic bags are always available and terrible for the environment. Would love more stores to phase them out.”

“This store deserves more praise and 5 star reviews! Their order and pickup service is the friendliest and most efficient of any store I’ve worked with. The staff are kind and informed and the process is always quick and efficient.

On top of that the store is always well stocked and staffed with a variety of products.

“Excellent CVS . The pharmacists and staff really care about their customers, They go out of their way to help all of their customers.I really love using this pharmacy. The Pharmacist stays on top of the medications that l’m taking. The Pharmacist makes sure that I understand drug interactions and what the the drugs do. The Pharmacist makes it clear to me what the side effects are for each of the drugs I take.”

“First time here - Fancy, Expensive, Yet Lovely...Usually Whole Foods is the only upscale grocery store that comes to my mind until I went to Wegmans for the first time. There were some hard to find items that I have not been able to find in Wegmans that I can't find in any of the grocery stores here: Lapsang Souchong Tea, Chamois pepper sauce for fruit, and Hing for seasoning my mung beans. Yet I was impressed by the well displayed fruits, meals, and kitchen/ dining ware. The wine & beer section was very impressive. I got an Australian wine and a Grateful Dead Cabernet. I wanted to buy more wine despite I have stopped drinking until the holidays, yet I know where to get a good priced wine from New Zealand, France, or Australia. Wegmans Veggie chip snacks (24 bags for $12) and baked chips in small bags were a steal. A bag of pears for $5-$6. 12 packs of Asian seaweed snacks for $7.99. Everything I purchased was an affordable deal despite the store having mostly high priced expensive items. I was tempted to buy a fruit or cheese appetizer platter until I saw the price was $22 or more. $6.99 for jumbo juicy blueberries was a pass too. Wegman snack & food products and high quality wines from foreign countries at very affordable prices are the reasons why I will come back to this store.The Wegman shopping card membership is free and scores you reduced prices on their products. You don't need a card to access it - just sign up for it at customer service. They have reusable shopping bags for 99 cents. Their grocery carts have drink holders too - a big plus.”

“It's fine. I haven't had issues at the pharmacy like others have mentioned. The only problem I have with this Giant is that the self check out is too strict with where you place your scanned items. If you don't immediately place the item on the small square where the plastic bags are located, it'll interrupt the system and you'll have to wait for a staff member to unlock the system so you can resume. But I've just gotten into the habit of stacking my groceries on that square and then bagging them after I've paid.”

He was polite professional, and gave great instructions for how to make sure that I follow the strict passport rules. He provided overall exceptional customer service. “Somehow this Giant has the best pharmacy I've ever found. They are always available via phone, knowledgeable, and will help you navigate your insurance to find the most economical options for your prescriptions. There is nearly never a big line. I've gotten vaccines here too, and they did an excellent job. After a few years of coming here routinely I've gotten to know some of the pharmacists, like Rimsha, and every single person has been so kind and competent. You all rock!”
