“Stayed for just a night - located right near all the shopping and 95. The rooms were clean, beds comfy and showers had good water pressure.
We tried the hot tub out… it was more like lukewarm tub and the water was murky. We turned on the bubbles and it got colder and more murky. I think the staff need to fix that.
Otherwise overall pleasant stay!”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff at this Marriott. After accidentally leaving my purse behind, their team went above and beyond to help me during what could have been a very stressful situation.
Andrea is an absolute star—she was the one who spotted my purse at the breakfast table and immediately secured it. Her honesty and attention to detail truly reflect the integrity of this property. Sara, Lori, and Sharon were incredibly patient and kind, even as I called almost daily trying to track things down. When we realized UPS was the delay, they stayed on top of it until it finally arrived—and I now have my pocketbook back!
My husband is a Lifetime Platinum Marriott member, and experiences like this are exactly why we remain loyal to the brand. This team turned a potential nightmare into a reminder of what exceptional hospitality looks like.

“The best things about this hotel is it's price, free breakfast, beautiful trees and park-like surroundings, and the staff.
Service animals are allowed. They have a standard Holiday inn Express IHG breakfast with a pancake machine, pre-made omelettes, and they're excellent cinnamon rolls among other things.
It's at a remote, somewhat isolated location even on the military base, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, makes it an extremely peaceful area far away from any traffic. Since it is on a military base, it has more limited access to the metro, but it does have a regional bus going on the base. It can get you to the metro; however, having a car is the best method of transport even if you drive directly to Franconia-Springfield Metro parking.
The rooms are very large, but dated looking. If you don't care about the dated appearance, it's a very quiet, clean, and well-kept facility.”

“We did a one night stay with the getaway package for pets.
The hosts greeted us and made us feel welcomed to stay here. Checking was very easy. The room was clean and plenty of hot water.
Our 2 large huskies greeted the front of desk crew every time we walked by and they ended up saying hello to them everytime.
Breakfast was plentiful with a full array of food and coffee.
It is located right off the highway and there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy a walk to.
This hotel is def large dog friendly and we appreciate that and would stay again without hesitation.

“BW plus Richmond Hwy has a beautiful building in a shopping area. McDonald's next door. Art Massage next to that, and many restaurants there's even a bbq courtyard out back of BW Plus. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Best I can find for the cost. Hot and cold choices for breakfast in a huge cafeteria. Relax in a padded booth, eat your delicious free breakfast and watch local news.... knowing how close you are to DC. Bus stops heading to either Franconia-Springfield or Huntington metro stations are right out front too. When I come back, I may rent a car because parking is free too.”

“The rooms were in excellent condition and the location couldn't have been more convenient for our needs. Most of the employees were very friendly, but one of the morning front desk employees just always had a scowl and gave the impression that she really didn't like her job. We were also skipped by housekeeping one day which wasn't a big deal but was disappointing.
Overall, it was a good experience and we'll be back.”

Location is right beside an above ground metro stop, and woke me up regularly all night long from the loud squeaking and noise. The hotel info doesn't mention this, but they do put foam ear plugs on your night stand, so they are aware of this issue.”

“The service was great and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had a horrible experience at the Day's Inn (Extremely dirty hotel, we walked in the room and before we even put our bags down we walked back out) and we needed a room for the night. The lady at the front (I can't remember her name, but I believe she was Indian) was very helpful and when she saw me later that evening she asked me was everything ok and was I satisfied with the room. After what my wife and I just went through, I really appreciated her asking.”

“The management of this establishment has a great deal of which to be proud. Staff can have a make or break impact on the guest experience. Every person I encountered in my stay was professional, polite and attentive.
The facility/rooms are clean, well maintained and equipped with good quality personal care products/in room coffee.
The added touch of complimentary happy hour was unexpected and appreciated.
The true brilliance in all of this is that it demonstrates quality can be delivered at an affordable price to working class guests. We all deserve to be treated with respect and dignity - not just the billionaire class who would probably snicker at my 5 star review. “Stayed here for a group event for work. Ebony and other staff were polite kind and very helpful! Someone in our party had an AC not working and we’re promptly moved/upgraded! About a half hour drive from downtown DC without traffic, and across the street from a mall/restaurants. You’re also next to the on ramp for the highway.”

“Having stayed here several times in the past, I'm comfortable in saying that the rooms are clean and the bed comfortable.
The small kitchen area is perfect for what you need if you're going to be staying over a week.
The parking lot is a bit small and when they had contractors on site they filled the parking lot.
But the parking lot is well lit, there was no broken glass or trash.
Our only issue with this specific location was with some of their policies and customer service.
But management went out of their way to contact us, listened, understood our complaints and took action.
We had to accept and understand the reasons for certain policies, but once explained in an open dialog it was obvious this management team understood our concerns and fully addressed them.
We seldom see such rapid management action. Highly impressed.
The location is good, Plenty of local restaurants and places to pick up a few things.
I would recommend this location.”
“Older hotel but the rooms were fresh and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot and ready. One of the two elevators was not working and one of the doors would not open using the room key. Overall, pretty minor . Location was great! Mall across the highway with plenty of food selections and any items we may have needed while we were there.”

“I spent four nights here for a solo trip and overall had a postitive experience. A few highlights, certainly the location and close proximity to the metro. Housekeeping came in to the room every day and kept the room very tidy. Lastly, the breakfast served at the restaurant was fast, delicious, and huge portions.
On the negative side of things, the hotel has seen a lot of wear and tear, everything looks alright from 10 feet away, but it looks pretty tired in general.
Not sure what influence the hotel itself has on this if any and it may be a neutral point, but there were at least 40-50 National Guard members staying here and basically taking over the lobby/bar/restaurant area when gathering.”

“After my recent trip toward DC to pick up my college girl from George Washington University, I knew I didn’t want to stay directly in the city. I ended up at the Best Western Potomac Mills and honestly? This is officially my new safe spot hotel when I’m in the area.
A lot of my followers know I had a really rough experience at another hotel recently, so finding a place where everything just felt easy and comfortable was such a relief. The front desk staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming from the moment I checked in. They even followed up to make sure my room was good, which I genuinely appreciated.
And let’s talk about the breakfast because WOW. Usually hotel breakfasts are just… there. This one was actually GOOD. The bacon was delicious, the eggs were great, and they even had a yogurt station where you could add toppings like pineapple, coconut, and blueberries. They also had grits and waffles, which made it feel way more thoughtful than the average continental breakfast.
The little towel birds on the beds were such a cute touch, the beds themselves were super comfortable, the fridge was actually a decent size, and the hot water? Endless. After long drives, that matters more than people realize.
Overall, I’m genuinely so happy with my stay here. Safe, clean, welcoming, comfortable, and stress-free. At this point, I can honestly say I’d choose Best Western over Hilton going forward. Keep up the great work — you’ve officially earned a repeat guest!”

“Staff is friendly night and morning! Good for the price! $89! The bedroom didn't smell bad which is a plus! And the bed was clean so that makes it a good place for the price! Other than that the place is old BUT new means high price!
If planning to sleep longer during morning ask for uper level room because if you are in the ground level you will hear everyone walking upstairs

“Great location, but damp odor issue
Staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. The location is perfect if you're catching the Auto Train — it's right next door — and it's also super convenient to the freeway for easy access.
Unfortunately, both our room and the hallway had a persistent damp/musty smell that we couldn't ignore. It didn't ruin the stay, but it's worth mentioning for anyone sensitive to that kind of thing. Might be worth the hotel looking into ventilation or moisture issues in that area.
Would consider staying again given the convenience and friendly staff, but hoping the smell gets addressed.”
