Pet Stores & Supplies

Tractor Supply Co.

1363 W Main St, Salem

Today I just wanted to say thank you to the incredible team at the Salem VA store.

My family and I bought chickens back in March, and we’ve been coming back regularly for all of our feed and supplies. Today was a little different—my husband, who is in the military, is away for training, so I made the trip on my own with our two young children.

I walked in pushing a double stroller while pulling a shopping cart behind me, and almost immediately two employees asked if there was anything they could help me with. After finishing my shopping with a full cart, the employee at the register offered to load everything into my car. I tried to help, but she just smiled and said, “Go ahead and take a seat in your car—I have it handled.”

It may have seemed like a small act of kindness, but to this tired mom, it meant so much. I can’t express the relief I felt knowing I didn’t have to juggle two little ones, a stroller, and a cart full of feed by myself. At no point did they make me feel like I was inconveniencing them or that I was a burden for needing a little extra help.

Thank you for treating your customers with such care and compassion. Those simple acts of help made a stressful errand so much easier, and I’ll remember it for a long time.

You have a wonderful team, and I hope they know how much their kindness is appreciated.

Pet Supplies Plus Salem

1439 West Main Street, Salem

Less Skunky🦨, more Pumpky🎃 Thank you, Pet Supplies Plus, for giving my sweet smelly girl her first spa day 🧼 Kaitlyn at Spartan Square did a wonderful job with my nervous girl! I had initially added on a paw pad treatment, but after Kaitlyn finished up with her nails, she knew it would’ve been too much for her, so she chose to forego it & dropped it off off my receipt. I appreciated that so much! Nails are short & filed, coat is silky soft, and my girl is happy. 10/10!

Pet Care

Salem Animal Hospital

3153 West Main Street, Salem

First of all Amy Fletcher, the extremely kind lady that was able to fit our sweet dog into an emergency appointment displayed the ultimate customer service and true care and concern for our baby, SHE IS AMAZING and Salem Animal Hospital is truly lucky to have her. Also, Christine Ferris DVM, over 30 years of practice, it shows, her passion and knowledge blew us away and her assistant, did not catch her name, but our dog was immediately obsessed with her because she was so caring and understanding and loving towards our baby girl. I highly recommended Salem Animal Hospital to anyone and everyone in Salem and Roanoke, we have 4 fur babies who truly appreciate ❤ and love the service of these amazing women! Thank yall for being so knowledgeable and truly passionate about what yall do each and every day!

DeRolf Animal Hospital

1401 Mill Race Drive, Salem

I was so thankful DeRolf was able to get us in when my dog developed a UTI while we were traveling. They were able to see us the same day I called, the staff was friendly, they quickly diagnosed my dog's issue, and provided a comprehensive treatment plan. I found their prices to be reasonable compared to what I pay for similar services at home.

It's stressful when your baby isn't feeling well and that feeling is quadrupled when you're hundreds of miles from home. Thank you DeRolf for fitting us in your schedule and quickly getting Daisy on the road to recovery!

Animal Care Center Of Salem

1035 Electric Road, Salem

Wanted to give a huge shoutout to one of your employees Dean I think was his name. I was stopped on the side of the road trying to save a dog from getting into traffic. The road was busy as people passed by; Dean stopped and Offered help immediately.
He got out of his car to help me and the Dog and we were able to get the dog to animal control safely and timely. He went above and beyond to save this animal, not many people would stop and help like he did. I just wanted to say if you want someone to truly take care of your animals with a good heart go here! Thank you Dean for helping me save Fern!!

The Dilly

1511 Eddy Avenue, Salem

The Dilly is the BEST! We get weekly breakfast sandwiches here and have also gotten Maggie's lunch specials and dinners, which you can follow on Facebook. It's also well stocked for small stuff you might need, so it's super convenient for those in the surrounding neighborhood. There's a rotation of desserts and sides that are always good, and it's just become a great community spot. Grateful for Maggie and her team!
