“Customer service extraordinaire! Greatest selection! It’s worth spending more to obtain some of the best plants available in at least 100 miles of my home. McDonalds product availability for gardening is extraordinary! I have always found the products I need not available anywhere else.
I would like to recognize several employees, Andrea, Rachel and others for their helpfulness in ordering products and best communication that you rarely find anywhere else in retail. I rate them 6 out of 1-5.

“One of the friendliest and most helpful stores you'll ever visit! A man named Jon spent almost two hours helping me get exactly what I needed and even provided an extra free part.

Another pleasant surprise is that the overall store was more respectful/accommodating of my allergies than most airlines!

Years before when I was new to the area another employee helped me with directions, and each we very frequently get bargain christmas trees with complimentary trimming.

Combine that with the ability to order whst you need in advance if it's out of stock and I can't think of another hardware store I would pick first.”

“I went here a couple of months ago for a shrub I used to own years ago and loved, but have found that no other nursery or garden center between Va Beach to Newport News were selling it except for Coastal Landscape & Nursery. Their inventory online let me know they had it and they had a large quantity of this shrub in 2-3 pot sizes. I went there for this one particular shrub, but was blown away by the quantity and variety of plants at this place and the size of the property. The property is so huge that you are better of using one of their golf carts to ride around in. It's basically a plant mall. The list of plants online at their website is great, but DEFINITELY not complete! They also have separate, adjacent land just for the trees. The location of Coastal Landscapes & Nursery is a far drive from most places in Hampton Roads area, but worth it.”

“Tyler Jones was phenomenal with his understanding and implementation of my desires to transform my tiny backyard into a wonderful outdoor living and entertaining space! Tyler and his great team created a beautiful yard with pavers, lighting and landscaping. Everyone was courteous and hardworking. I was amazed at how fast they worked. Most of the employees are very friendly and respectful but there is always the odd one that thinks he is the smartest in the room and come across very rude and antagonistic. I’m sure the team can tell who is who! Still very convenient to have this so close to home.”

“I know, it's sometimes hard to give 5 stars to a store that everyone goes to out of need - that need for that caulk or bolt or light bulb to replace a burnt out one. Sometimes we don't think about customer service at a place where necessity drives the customers to the place, rather than whim or special occasions such as a department store or a fancy restaurant. And most of the time people just are happy that a store like Home Depot just has the item in stock. But I've had a couple of incidents where the service has been wonderful so here goes my 5 star rating. One night at around 8:30 when everyone's winding down for the day getting ready for the next , I decided it was great time to avoid the hot humid weather and the large crowds to buy bags of garden soil, top soil and mulch. Just have to get my new beds ready for fall planting! The garden center gates were closed, lights were dim and as expected, there wasn't anyone tending the garden center. I asked service desk to page someone to help me with the bags of soil and mulch. Not only was there someone who helped me load them in my cart, they even waited for me to pay for them and walked me to my car and loaded the bags - no requests needed - now that's customer needs anticipation and service! Then just last night I decided I couldn't make 4 trips to buy more than 25 bags of soil, mulch and gravel. So decided to order online for next day delivery. They indicated the merchandise will be delivered any time from 6am to 8pm. A truck came at 10:30am. A polite young man asked if it was the right address and where he can unload the items. He was very efficient, laid the bags very neatly by the driveway. I am not sure if the gentleman is a contractor for Home Depot or an employee - but service was wonderful. I recommend Home Depot's delivery service for $35 - well worth the gas, the mileage and the time it takes to go into store, have your car loaded for several trips!”

“Wow! What a surprise. It's larger than I thought. I've been driving past for years but needed something nearby today and specifically needed a few plants and some dirt for a project so decided I was coming. I found tons of home decor and garden items inside the small shop as well as a full USPS store open 9-5 Monday-Friday. What?! Andrea was amazing. She helped so much and was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the plants inside and how to care for them. She helped me find exactly what I was looking for and made it super easy. She also helped us get the right potting soil mix and some tips. Signed up for a rewards account which provides coupons, in-store sales and also some points annually to use in store based on spend. What's not to love?! This may be a new garden fav.”

“We have been using Jack Frost as a principal material supplier for over five years. They offer something really great in the variety and quality of their bulk materials. Consistency is great, and the speed of service is excellent.

Thier delivery service on bulk materials is the easiest in the city. Receptionists are fast and accurate, the amount of material you recieve is precise, and the delivery drivers have demonstrated some great problem solving and show great care for customer property. On many occasions we have ordered materials last minute and gotten them within 24 hours.

The garden center is small compared to others in the city, but that's not a bad thing here. There is always variety for all types of plants, and the team does a great job watering and caring for them.

The staff here are great. Jeremy in the garden center is a wealth of knowledge for when you need help. Everyone that works there is a receptionist, and they are always great at the door and answer the phone. The environment is very friendly and professional.”

“Went to find a masonry chisel to break apart bricks and cement. Couldn't find item but a very busy helpful employee took the time to help me find it. Saved me time. Love this store because employees are always there for the customer no matter how busy they are.”

“I love that they always have carts. Something you you don't find at Lowe's. I dislike having to deal with self-checkout all the time. Especially when they've got three or four employees standing there talking to each other and yet you're expected to check yourself out.”
