Pet Care

Useless Bay Animal Clinic
5523 S Harbor Ave, FreelandI started coming here earlier in the year, I had found out that Dr. Bishop has a French Bulldog and since I have two of my own. I figured he was the best vet for one of mine that has allergies. He is very thorough in his examinations and very compassionate. Very reasonable and yes as mentioned by another reviewer doesn't recommend things that aren't necessary. The vet techs are fantastic as well and the front staff is fantastic. There is a wait to get in just an fyi but definitely worth it.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

China City
1804 Scott Rd, FreelandWe stopped in for a quick dinner and drink. We were greeted promptly and seated right away. We were waited on by three people all friendly and attentive. We simply had the dinner combo. Our food came up quickly and was very tasty and hot. The dumpling soup was particularly good as it tasted fresh and was full of crisp boc Choi and tender dumplings. It was not overly salty as sometimes soups can be. We were served cashew chicken, vegetable fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Each of our items was very tasty and hot. My one comment would be that the plate of sweet and sour pork could have used some garnish and perhaps some tidbits of pineapple or peppers. We also enjoyed cocktails and a lemon cake that was terrific, super light and creamy lemon filling..... The staffing level was very good and everyone was very busy, but had time to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our meal. We always feel that China City is a good bet for a quick tasty meal.

Freeland Café & Bar
1642 E Main St, Freelandwent to visit the wild bird store and smelled the most tantalizing aroma of smoked meats. I ordered a whole smoked chicken and a rack of ribs to pick up for the weekend, and left with a crispy chicken sandwich with Alabama white BBQ sauce and onion rings. My gluten free spouse chose the Portuguese sausage with eggs and rice, and kids fish and chips for grand child. So glad we skipped Ivar's pre ferry and went to the Freeland Cafe! The to go carried well in their reusable to go boxes.
