Espresso Chalet
50000 Stevens Pass Hwy, Gold BarIn the nicest way possible, this place is over-hyped. The coffee is not bad by any means, it’s fine. The view is nice, of course— but there are many places in Washington with nice, probably better views. Honestly it’s more worth it to get a coffee elsewhere and then go on a short hike, and you get a better experience. So make the visit if you want to say you did. It’s not a place I will be returning to.

Zeke's Drive In
43918 US-2, Gold BarLived in the valley 22+ yrs and I was a vegetarian when I worked here so finally tried this place in 2026 and honestly its pretty expensive for what you get. The burgers taste super fresh which is great but the food wasn't good enough to even finish, I gave it to my kids as did my oldest she didn't finish either. Fries are good though!
The other issue is they have picnic benches and there was a family out there eating and a man walked his dog over and the dog pooped right behind this family. There is a poop bag trash station right there as well so why is this resturant having picnic benches and dog bathroom areas in the same spot? Huge turnoff, I understand being tight on space but gross!
Overall I wouldnt personally be back with the prices to the quality but I will say the freshness is great!
