Pet Care

Apple Tree Cove Animal Hospital
11254 NE 2nd St, KingstonI adore this vet office. We were new to Kingston and nervous about finding a new vet and we couldn’t be happier. Our 14 year old Chiweenie needed 14 teeth extracted and the entire team was incredible. Dr. Whitaker is an angel and every single tech and the gals at the front desk are amazing.

Christin Finn DVM
7515 NE State Hwy 104, KingstonDr Finn assisted our family with our (13+ year old) dog’s reoccurring cancer. She made two house calls and got us ready to see that his life was coming to an end. She is professional, supportive and totally a master at her trade. So grateful to have had her expertise and kindness during this very sad time.
Dr Finn’s book definitely helped with our grieving process, thank you so much.

Tender Touch Animal Hospital
27099 Miller Bay Rd NE, KingstonWe have a small Chi that need anal expression monthly. She's not the friendliest old dog -lol- but the staff at Tender Touch is great, nice calm environment, and our little one had no problems, everything was great.

Pet Sitting & Training

Westward Hound
21291 Howard Ave NE, KingstonI am a certified dog trainer, and when some issues arose with my own family dogs we hired Amanda and are SO glad we did! Empathetic and professional, she loaded us up with fantastic resources and straightforward homework which was easy to implement and incredibly helpful. Every time our dogs play we are so grateful for Amanda!

Run Dog Run
26509 Bond Rd NE, KingstonWe cannot recommend Kylee at Run Dog Run highly enough! We began working with her after we adopted our 3.5 year old Border Collie who had spent several months in shelters. The difference we have seen is nothing short of remarkable, and our dog LOVES her!
Kylee not only helped all of us with basic obedience, she helped him build confidence and become much less reactive with other dogs and to his surroundings through desensitization training. We also learned how to engage his high intelligence and channel his energy and instincts in practical ways to ensure he has a structured and balanced life.
It really helps too that the team at Run Dog Run will know about your dog’s training and will reinforce key aspects (like no jumping on people!) if the dog attends daycare/boarding. Half-day sessions once a week really improved our dog’s socialization and confidence as well. This combination has worked wonderfully for us.
Through her program, our dog has transformed from an anxious, jumpy pup to a confident, well-adjusted dog who understands his job is to engage with us and not to stress over every passing car or squirrel.
Thank you, Kylee, for being such a knowledgeable and compassionate trainer for Wrigley! We are so grateful to have found you!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Over the Moon Coffee Roasters
11229 NE State Hwy 104 #3, KingstonThis place is in walking distance of the Ferry. It was a chilly, but ok to walk a short distance to the place.
It was great coffee and equally cute book corner that we sat in with or grandbabies. We had a blast reading books with our grandbabies until the next ferry arrived.

The Saucy Sailor
11252 NE State Hwy 104 Suite B, KingstonEasily top 3 takeout food places I've ever been for food quality. Coupled with the worst open hours I've ever seen. Recently started closing a half hour earlier than usual so can never get there before my daily 7pm ferry. Today got there at 545 which is very unusual and they're closed on Thursdays....... Very disappointed but hope to catch them open sometime in the future. Must stop if in Kingston and the frozen meals you can take home to bake feed the whole family and are a great value. Buffalo blue cheese chicken is my fave but all are good! Miss them a lot and wish them all the luck!

Hood Canal Brewery
26499 Bond Rd NE, KingstonHood Canal Brewery had a delicious wheat beer and a very good IPA during our February 2025 visit. Clearly a local favorite, most of the folks inside seemed like regulars. Not sure I would prioritize swinging by next time I'm in the area, but was impressed by the beers for sure.

The Smoked Asian
9320 NE West Kingston Rd, KingstonHere I am on my Sunday check to see if it was open and where they’re located as they are. I was looking forward to their delicious food however, they are not open after driving an hour to get disappointed, although the food is worth the drive no matter where you’re from if only they were open

Westside Pizza
25960 Ohio Ave NE, KingstonThis is a must stop for our family on our way home before the ferry. The pizza is always delicious and bonus they have dairy free cheese! The people who work there are always super nice and helpful. Pro tip: order online for pick up when you are getting close to the ferry line and then walk there from the line to pick up before the ferry comes.

J'aime Les Crêpes Crêperie
11264 WA-104, KingstonIncredible crêpes and wonderful service! The girls behind the counter endure a very hot, tiny kitchen, and lots of customers stressed and pressed for time waiting for the ferry. They do their job wonderfully, quickly, and with a smile. Always look forward to a crêpe here, whether it's breakfast, a savory lunch or dinner, or a dessert ferry snack. They're delicious, the batter is perfectly thin and crispy, and they put a lot of ingredients in!
