Z Bones Pet Mercantile
146 Winslow Way W, Bainbridge IslandA Pet Lover’s Dream on Bainbridge
While exploring Bainbridge Island today I came across Z Bones Pet Mercantile, and it’s exactly the kind of locally owned pet shop you hope to find!
Similar to the Seattle Mudbay, The store is absolutely adorable and packed with everything a pet parent could want—leashes, collars, toys, high-quality pet food, and a great selection of fresh and locally sourced options. You can immediately tell this place is thoughtfully curated rather than just stocked with generic big-box items.
The highlight for me was finding a leash for my corgi that i’ve been hunting for online for months that had been discontinued everywhere else. Somehow they had it, and it felt like striking gold.
Shops like this are why I always try to explore local businesses when visiting a new place. This place clearly cares about the quality of the products they carry and the experience they create for pet owners.
If you’re on Bainbridge Island and have a furry companion at home, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

Bainbridge Island Dog Club
931 Hildebrand Ln, Bainbridge IslandThe best dog boutique store I’ve ever been to. My friend and I walked in and saw the cutest sweaters and dog snoods we’d ever seen. We were then greeted by the sweetest woman who honestly just made my day. I felt so welcomed and was able to justify each purchase by supporting a friendly local business. There are so many unique and high quality items: sweaters, bows, leashes, toys, snacks and even human gifts with adorable dogs on them. I can’t wait to go back and buy more snoods and snacks. ?

HI LIFE
220 Olympic Dr SE, Bainbridge IslandA wonderful experience starting with our server Thomas. His attentiveness to our needs and others was unbelievable. He helped an elderly couple who asked them how to reheat ther leftovers in the best way possible. His explanation was above and beyond what is normal. The bartender, Will, worked together with Thomas to pair a wonderful smoked soju with our baked butter moji desert. It was wonderful!!!. Later the owner, Jason came out to talk to us and gave us the Hawaiian Aloha feel. It was like being there in Hawaii. Truly unexpected and appreciated. An experience that rivaled our time in New York, NY.

Briny Bagels
10255 NE Valley Rd, Bainbridge IslandThe Pastrami sandwich on a sesame bagel had a wonderful amount of greens to balance the rich and salty pastrami and the sauerkraut and honey mustard smear rounded the flavors out.The tuna sandwich had an amazing smoked sesame crusted tuna with a spicy wasabi roe and mayo.It was a salty and spicy combo on a salted bagel with the refreshing and light tuna. And finally their deep dish pizza with speck, green onions, and a spicy honey was the perfect snack to tear off pieces throughout the day. (Also don’t forget to snag their free chocolate chip cookies at the counter).

Bainbridge Apothecary and Tea Shop
450 Winslow Way E, Bainbridge IslandBainbridge Apothecary & Tea Shop was such a fun find. While Carrot Cake, the friendly ginger cat, may have stolen the show, the tea was just as memorable. We enjoyed a refreshing selection of teas, and the shop itself was beautifully curated with a wonderful assortment of gifts and accessories for tea lovers.
Whether you're stopping in for a relaxing cup of tea or searching for a unique souvenir, this is a charming spot that's well worth a visit.

Fletcher Bay Winery - Winslow Tasting Room
500 Winslow Way E Suite 130, Bainbridge IslandI brought my wife and daughter to the rooftop for some wine tasting and snacks, and was happy to see they had an Albarino. Albarino is my wife's favorite; she is from Spain, which is where the grape originates. My wife got a flight, she was able to choose any three wines; she chose the Sparkling Rose (a must try!) as well as the Albarino, and Cab Sauv., which had a delicious finish. I ordered a local IPA , and a Spanish Platter to enjoy. My kiddo was excited to see they offered a Kids Platter, which had all the things she loves, goldfish, pandas and Tillamook cheese! Also, the ambiance on the rooftop is unmatched. It was a chilly, but since it's partially covered with heaters, and a lovely fire place we were comfortable. If you visit Bainbridge Island, you must stop at Fletcher Bay Winery!

Coquette Bake Shop
140 Winslow Way W, Bainbridge IslandCoquette is my go-to coffee shop on Bainbridge. The team is always so friendly, they’re nice to my kids, and the vibe is perfect whether I’m getting some work done or just hanging out.
Get the lavender iced tea with lavender syrup (you’re welcome) or one of their iced oat milk lattes with caramel, they’re my favorite in town. And if the ginger cookies are in the case, order one immediately. Don’t even think twice. The cookie sandwiches are good but the cookies without frosting tend to be chewier if you like a softer cookie.
Also… the fact that they sell Diet Coke? ELITE. It means I can grab my latte in the morning and come back for my afternoon Diet Coke when the crash hits. Real recognizes real.
I also love that they use paper straws and make an effort to be a little more thoughtful about waste. Just an all-around awesome local business that always makes me happy I stopped in.

Amelia Wynn Winery Bistro
390 Winslow Way E, Bainbridge IslandIt was a beautiful day on Bainbridge Island. We had never been to the island and took a chance on checking out Amelia Wynn Winery Bistro. We chose to dine outdoors on their side patio. It was quiet and served us perfectly as we ordered three shareable that included the mushroom flatbread, the grilled Spanish octopus (my favorite) and the petite Wellington. All three dishes were excellent. The wine was also very good. Our server Marco was very nice and took care of us with expertise and offering great suggestions. We will return the next time we visit Bainbridge Island.

West Sound Wildlife Shelter
7501 NE Dolphin Dr, Bainbridge IslandMy husband and I recently rescued a baby robin from a busy parking lot, he was on the ground and leaving him would have been a death sentence. We were able to care for him while we called around to find his best shot at life. West sound wildlife shelter is the only one who didn't hesitate to tell us they would help. After we dropped Bean off (yes i named him) they were incredibly kind and continue to let me call and get updates on Bean. This truly is the most caring and wonderful group of people i have ever had the pleasure of working with. I look forward to getting the continued updates on little Bean throughout his journey. Thank you so much west sound wildlife shelter for all that you do and showing compassion and care for all the animals you help. I'll be speaking with you soon to get another update on Bean lol.
