“I love bringing my packages here. The staff are some of the friendliest folks and they are always attentive and looking to help. I sometimes have many and some really heavy packages and the owners will often help pass the packages in or offload it with me. Can't think of any other place that shows that kind of care. “Perfect little Middle Eastern market for my personal needs. I always get my beans and pita bread here instead of settling for inferior and inauthentic product at places like Fresh Co and Superstore. The owner is such a wonderful man - beyond kind and courteous. He is always helpful and a sincere pleasure to interact with. His son who I have only seen while the owner is on vacation, is also a very friendly, kind young man who does a great job filling his father's shoes. I love coming here and knowing I am directly supporting good, honest people and their families with my business while getting better quality goods at the same time.”

I’ve been coming to this location whenever I’m in the area for Tim Hortons. It’s very convenient. Sungiven feels like an Asian Trader Joes. They have fantastic products and some are quite fancy. I’ve never had any issues with their products.
They also have a bathroom at this location. This spot is quite popular with the hotel people. They frequently come here for a cheaper prepared meal. Or even last meal to go before heading to the airport.”

“Smart N Save Grocery is a nice spot if you’re looking for a good selection of Asian snacks and nostalgic Hong Kong products. They carry a lot of items that bring back memories, especially if you grew up with Hong Kong snacks and grocery products.
The store has a decent variety and it’s fun to browse around and see what they have. With the competition from bigger Asian supermarkets like T&T nowadays, I do hope Smart N Save continues to grow and find its place in the market. Wishing them all the best!”

There are now more Middle Eastern/Persian canned and non-perishable goods for sale and slightly lesser variety of produce. Will give it some time to get on track and see how things turn out, but like others have already shared in their review, it's not the same Red Carrots as before!”
“I’ve been coming here for probably over a decade because their prices can’t be beat. This is a grassroot frozen dimsum place. I usually get their pork wonton, at $15 for 50 pieces (800g). Their shrimp wonton is $22. Taste is decent and good for a quick lazy meal. I used to get their dumplings, but the quality had gone down across the board, now the fillings are extremely pasty (too much flour and grinded down too much). Fortunately the wontons are still good. They also have pork and shrimp mix wontons for $18.”

“Price is decent and honest. They have a variety of Chinese medicine, herbs, dried goods, dried seafood, tea, over the counter Asian medicine, etc. Their Chinese dried seafood is clearly priced so you know they aren't just giving you a random different price every time. They also teach you how to use what you buy so it's great if you're starting out and don't know what to do.”

“This is a great little supermarket to get your vegetables and hot pot ingredients! this includes hot pot meat, hot pot soup base, sauce, etc. They also carry all kinds of sauces, as well as snacks and drinks. Great place to get your groceries in one place.”
“Their cashiers process items very efficiently. Most cashiers are friendly and helpful and can speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently. WeChat Pay is one of their accepted payment methods. Management posted a sign to ask arriving customers to leave bags and stroller carts that are filled with outside items with their staff for the duration of their time inside the shop.
Their produce department is well-organised and well-stocked with pretty much everything you can think of. The meat and fish department is not big but still offer a lot of stuff. We got cuts of fresh fish in pre-packed styrofoam trays at discount price sometimes. We really like their dace fish paste (bulk) at around $9 per Lb. My parents like their barbecue section. They said bbq pork is leaner compared with other places they tried and the taste is decent.
Their dry section is impressive, too. I was pleased to see chips and Pocky stick biscuits all made in Japan sold at a discount price.
Mall management has hired parking company to patrol their lot. I saw cars occupying 30-minute only spots or 10-minute loading spots for more than the allowed duration receiving a ticket.
It is definitely easier to find a parking spot outside of lunch hour and on a weekday rather than weekend.
A good place to go for reasonably priced
grocery if you do not mind the crowded parking.
Note: you could consider finding parking at Parker Place and walk over.”
“This is the kind of store I used to go to when I needed something specific that I couldn't find elsewhere, or I really needed a larger bulk quantity of something at a better price than the grocery stores...
But more and more I've been buying my everyday foods from here. At way better prices. Peanut butter, coconut oil, pancake mix, oats, pasta, corn starch... the list goes on
I also love that if I just want a little bit of any spices or herbs for a certain recipe or to try something new, that I can buy just a little bit. And they have all of them!
I 100% recommend bulk barn

“Idk about their business... but I go to this warehouse once a week to pick up an entire skid FULL of produce that they donate to a community kitchen in the DTES, no charge. And not the half dead expired stuff either; this stuff is top quality. They feed the people, and I know they do this for a LOT of other community groups, too. Unfi is awesome!”
“A small grocery store with an unexpectedly big section of butcher. Bright, clean and organized. Took credit cards except American Express - which was usually the case anyway. The highlight was some drinks that made in Hong Kong and Japan that I haven’t seen elsewhere in Canada before. Items on sales were good deals.”

“A Wonderful Experience at Duruma Japanese market
I recently visited Duruma Japanese market, and I was incredibly impressed by the quality and variety of products they offer. From fresh produce and authentic Japanese snacks to specialty items like Japanese Onigirai they had everything I was looking for. The store is clean, well-organized, and has a welcoming atmosphere.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They were quick to answer my questions and even gave me great recommendations on some lesser-known products. I really appreciated the attention to detail in stocking unique and hard-to-find items that cater to authentic Japanese cuisine.
