Willow Garden
844 Willow Ave A8, HerculesNow I usually don't go crazy over Chinese food anymore cause of eating it so much growing up , but the Mongolian beef was enough to make me drop my chopsticks in disbelief . I'm not sure who's the cook but you need to pat yourself on the back because you can chef it the fuck up. Get the Mongolian beef

Kinder's Meats Deli BBQ
3600 San Pablo Ave # 1, HerculesSo! I have not been to Kinder's in what feels like forever. I happened to go in for a quick bite on Thanksgiving Eve 2025. The young lady who took my order, Emme, had great energy and an infectious smile. I explained it had been like 15+ years since I had been there and asked which she recommended in between two bbq meats. We landed on her surprising me, and she got to work. Along the way, she partnered with a co-worker, Nora, to go above and beyond in the experience. Got by bread toasted for me, in her words, for some "razzle dazzle" (have to believe she's a Burt Kreischer fan). Asked me if I wanted different ingredients, which I turned down (but noted the Cx Service). Nora joked with me coming back on a busy day - but you wouldn't known it with how kind, deliberate, intentional and present everyone was. Sandwich gets made. Emme rings me up. Final pleasantries are exchanged, and I'm off. Get home, take a bite, and this BBQ Beef sandwich is everything I wanted, and so much more. Nostalgic, made with care, and better than any copy I've had in SoCal the last 15 or so years. While Emme and Nora did not *directly* make the beef that went into my sandwich (at least not to my knowledge), what made today's experience so world class was not just the sandwich itself, but the entire journey. I'm so happy and grateful I went in as randomly as I did. It was a perfect Turkey Day Eve meal. And I feel like the experience perfectly encapsulates what Kinder's is all about: Quality meats, fantastic products, incredible customer service, all at better than average prices. Wish Emme, Nora, the whole crew, and every Kinder's nothing but the best. I will unquestionably be back, a lot sooner than those 15 years!
