Emeryville Vet Hospital
3997 Emery St, EmeryvilleI've given reviews before but wanted to reiterate how wonderful Dr. Gill is! She's literally the vet who I trust the most with my fur babies. Yesterday, she saved my five year old Ragdoll's life! He has PICA syndrome which is very challenging and unfortunately he chewed a kitchen rag causing a blockage. At first, Dr. Gill seemed hesitant as she said that this was a complicated procedure which could involve the stomach and intestines. She warned of the possibility of a rupture. I cried when dropping my Nicholas off for the surgery but had faith that he was in good hands -- and he was! The surgery went smoothly and he's now recovering very well at home. If you have pets, you should trust this amazing doctor! She's my heroine! Thank you, Dr. Gill! And to her amazing technician too! She was great. She explained things so well and was very kind.

Wally's Cafe
3900 San Pablo Ave, EmeryvilleVery unassuming cafe with excellent food and service. We ordered the chicken pomegranate plate and the gyro plate, and because we weren’t paying attention, also ordered a small Greek salad. Turns out the plates come with an absolute mountain of rice, Greek salad, and the delicious protein. The lamb and beef gyro was good, and the chicken pomegranate was spectacular. SO flavorful, rich, and delicious.
There was a complimentary little bowl of lentil and rice soup to start. It was so surprisingly good. I’ll be thinking about that for a while- I’d order a big bowl of that as a light meal any time. We also got some complimentary baklava that was just killer to finish the meal. I don’t know if these areas only if you dine in. Oh, we also ordered the mint lemonade and the berry mint lemonade- both excellent. The berry mint was a bit more sweet, but neither were cloying and both were perfect and refreshing for the warm day.
Everything was cooked perfectly, quickly, and the ingredients were all high quality. It’s an amazing amount of food too- we’re both stuffed from lunch and are excited to eat the leftovers for dinner. I’m so glad we found this place- they do takeout and I can see this becoming part of the rotation when we’re too tired to cook. It’s nice to have a healthy option that’s so delicious.
The only two things I didn’t love were parking is a little annoying in the neighborhood, and I wish they had a physical menu to look at instead of having to browse the ordering screen. If there was a line, that would really hold things up, but there wasn’t a line when we ordered so it was fine. Oh, and I don’t know why Google Maps says this is a cash only place, you just order on a kiosk and pay with your card. Very convenient.

Krispy Joe's Coffee House
5512 San Pablo Ave, EmeryvilleThis place is the best! Keeps it simple: Pastrami sandos and a few other items; all done well; always ready when you get there to pick it up.
Folks who work there are super friendly. Couldn't ask for a better sandwich shop. Plus they're open early so you can grab and go on the way to work. Dad's Mustard is my choice, but no choice is wrong at this spot.

Butter Pecan Bakeshop
6472 Hollis St, EmeryvilleInteresting selection of cookies, all very large, sweet and over-the-top. Not the best cookies (you know - perfectly baked, chocolate chip cookies with amazing texture), but great if you have a big sweet tooth and generous appetite for sweets and desserts.

Saucy Asian (Emeryville)
5614 Bay St, EmeryvilleLocated on the Bay Street Plaza in Emeryville, on the second floor next to Barnes and Nobles. Saucy Asian is a Korean fusion restaurant. It’s a trendy place and is pretty busy all the way to closing time. We came in today after shopping at the new Tokyo Central across the street for a late dinner. We ordered at 7:58pm and did not receive our food until 8:26pm which was quite long wait for what we ordered. There is some indoor seating as well as outdoor seating.
As for food we ordered:
- Saucy Asian Bowl
- Saucy Asian Fries
- Island Style Poke Bowl (combo: half tuna/half Salmon)
All the food were good, have no complaints, but have had better elsewhere. Overall, if we’re in the mood for their food, we would come back.

Secrets Of Tiger
6520 Hollis St, EmeryvilleMy date has been a loyal customer at this restaurant ever since their first opening. Her native Thai coworker also recognizes how authentic the food is here. She has been gatekeeping this spot for years and would only bring someone here if she really likes them….and here I am on our fourth date :)
Every dish was delectable with depths of flavors and comes out in less than 10 mins. Our waiter was very warm and attentive. The restaurant space was decorated in such a unique and funky style giving its customers a look into modern Thai culture.
Would continue to support Secrets of Tiger as long as I date my girl. 100% recommend this restaurant as a lowkey date spot with more than just delicious food to offer.

Demiya
5959 Shellmound St, EmeryvilleI am unfamiliar with Yoshoku but what I tried here stands on its own. We were at the opening of the Emeryville Art Exhibition and popped over to Public Market for a bite to eat. I went somewhere else while hubby ordered here. He ordered the Beef Shabu-Shabu Curry Rice Level 2 (spicy) but when the called his name only to say they were actually out of what he wanted. They offered the Tori Curry Rice (stewed chicken) as he did not want a deep-fried protein. For the inconvenience, they gave him a side of pickled and mixed spinach into the stew. I had a taste and it was delicious. Fast forward to last night. After grocery shopping I didn't feel like making dinner so we headed to Demiya. Waited our turn to order at the computer. There were two or three people working behind the counter in the kitchen area. Again, they were out of the Beef Shabu-Shabu so we opted for the Buta-Shabu Curry Rice (spicy). The portion was generous and I was happy we decided to share or we would each have had leftovers. We still had room for dessert at another stall but decided to pass. So yeah, I am a fan of their curry rice. Not too crazy about having to tap my order at the computer and they only have one. If you are behind a slow poke like me, it might be a bit of a wait. Also wish there was another table near the front of their stall and the vegan Mexican restaurant beside it. Their food sounds delish, too.
