Just Food For Dogs
Inside Pet Food Express, 1095 Monroe St, AlbanyToday was my new puppy and mines FIRST time using the Pet Wash station at this location and I just want to start by saying the customer Service I received today from Ashley was one for the books. She helped me figure out the shampoo and water hoses. My dog was new to the whole bath situation so he was acting a bit naughty and she came right to my rescue with treats in hand and entertained him so I could finish his bath. She was beyond helpful and just so friendly and nice. I will now be making this my new " home " pet wash place and hope to see her again. Really happy with the service I received today. If I could give 10 stars I would . Thank you again! I hope this review gets seen! She deserves a lot of credit. At least this old lady thinks so!

Pet Grooming
Kutz For Mutz Dog Grooming
924 San Pablo Ave, AlbanyOwner is great, communicates and actually takes the time to get to know you and your pet. Great location and the prices are fair, they do an amazing job making sure your pet looks the way you want. Employees are very nice and go above and beyond for you and your pet. I really like that they take their time and are not rushing to just push pets in and out like a factory.

Tails A Go-Go
1124 Solano Ave, AlbanyI take my dogs there for nail trims and they are always able to accommodate me on the same day I call. The ladies are very nice and seem to really like dogs. One of my dogs is a cry baby and you would think he was being murdered, but two of the ladies were able to cut his nails. the other dog is easy so no issues. The price is fair and they are fast. Dogs look well cared.

Pet Care
Codornices Veterinary Clinic
944 San Pablo Ave, AlbanyWe are new client's of Dr. Andrew Lie. Upon our visit we were greeted on time by the staff and promptly seen. I really felt comfortable knowing he wasn't trying to force treatments or procedures that other veterinary clinics have done for wellness services upon us. He has a very caring nature with my pup and my pup felt very comfortable with both him and his staff. We look forward to seeing Dr. Lie and staff again as needed. Keep up the great work!

Hillview Pet Hospital
666 San Pablo Ave, AlbanyI live in Brentwood and used to take my passed bulldogs here for all their checkups and emergency issues. After couple of years, a kitty showed up at our house and hoping to find vet nearby. There were some nicely reviewed high-tech pet hospitals by my neighborhood but I'm glad they are either closed or have a long wait time for new clients. Even though they only open every Thursday part time hrs, I was able to get an appointment to take my kitty for vaccination and checkup right away like the next week. The visit was easy as always. Highly recommend it!

Dad and mom work the front of the restaurant and they are absolute gems: attentive, friendly and they make the dining experience special and fun. The food options were tantalizing and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back! The experience would be even better if the interior looked more like earlier photos (less cluttered and more stylish).Vegetarian options: There are some options available.Parking: No dedicated parking, street parking only.

BUA THAI KITCHEN
1045 San Pablo Ave, AlbanyFriendly staff and lovely seating interior. Food was delicious with good wok fire. The sizzling seafood plate was flavorful and went well with jasmine rice. The red duck curry was delicious with sticky rice. Coconut pad Thai was very satisfying and great portion. I saw lots of take out orders getting delivered every several minutes at dinner time. Glad to find out about this restaurant as it stays open till 10 pm. Easy parking in its own lot. I will come back to try other dishes.

Flora & Ferment
1122 Solano Ave, AlbanyMany legends start with a tree. Isaac Newton formulated his gravitational theory under an apple tree. In Norse mythology, an ash tree Yggdrasil contains the entire universe. And now Ferment and Flora. There is a stunning fig leaf tree at the entrance. Under its canopy, an apple cider starts a new legend, where you end up buying more cider to go, because it’s cosmically delicious.

Club Mallard

Hal's Office Coffee
1207 Solano Ave, AlbanyThis is one of my favorite coffee shops in the East Bay. The overall vibe is very small town, neighborly, friendly. The parklet right in front means great people watching. I mostly go here to write, when I need to get away from my computer. HAL'S never disappoints and I have not encountered unprofessional staff, just the opposite in fact. The coffee is really high end, and the quiche is always good... I just like how they have created a really nice place to be. It's teeny tiny, and feels cared for. Solano is such a vibrant neighborhood and Hal's is a big part of it.

Ocean View Brew Works
627 San Pablo Ave, AlbanyThis brewery is phenomenal. Lots of selection and rotation moves fast. The inside can be tight but the outside there is a space for kids to play and even a spot to reserve a party. Every once in a while they will have a jazz band that plays which is great to enjoy with the family. This brewery will do classics, IPA’s and even some unique beers like a mushroom porter. No matter what though the beer is always quality. The customer service is great and they have trivia nights, game nights, and live music. The only negative I can give this place is the beers are small batch and rotate fast. Once you get used to a beer more then likely it won’t be back which sucks cus they’re all really good. Highly recommend!

Hotsy Totsy Club
601 San Pablo Ave, AlbanyWe ordered tacos at the taco truck in the parking lot and quickly found shelter from the rain inside Hotsy Totsy. Wow, what a vibe inside. My partner says, "I didn't know places like this still exist." The drinks are strong, reasonably priced, and the vibes are immaculate. I would 10/10 return.

Brown Cap Soft Serve
Francis Street &, Terrace Path, AlbanyI have seen the truck before, but finally got to try Brown Cap because they had kindly stepped up to serve ice cream at a fundraiser event for Street Spirit newspaper. I opted for the brown cap in a cone, twist (vanilla and chocolate swirl) for the flavor, and sea salt. I had the misfortune of accidentally swallowing a huge hunk of salt in my first bite, which actually stung in my throat. But later when I recovered a bit and was able to eat the rest, the chocolate shell was great, and the ice cream itself was sweet and creamy. I did find the salt quantity a bit too high for my preference. But I tried some of my partner's ice cream too, they had ordered the twist in a waffle cone with salted caramel drizzle. I'd say that is a great topping if you have a sweet tooth as it's only lightly salted. Just watch out for melting ice cream dripping down the sides!
