Pet Grooming

The Empuppyporium
6511 Arlington Blvd D, RichmondFirst time visiting the Empuppyporium after being recommended by other doodle parents at the park and reading all the reviews. Scheduling, drop-off, and pickup were all clear and easy. I didn’t go inside to see the facilities as the staff came out to get the dogs that arrived in the parking lot, which may help the other pups there be more relaxed. My dog is not used to going to a groomer so initially she was reluctant to go in but they managed to do a great job on her — even cut, attention to detail, super clean and fresh — and gave her a sweet bandana for Halloween. It’s unclear if their policy is to not ask for tip on the payment screen or if it’s included (always good to clarify if you’re concerned), but I thought what I paid was very fair. Hope they keep up the good work. I would take my dog back again and recommend this place to other fur parents.

Mudpuppy's at Point Isabel Dog Park
1 Isabel St, RichmondOur dog Moe is a very anxious dog. The staff here have been absolutely lovely with him; gentle, kind, and understanding every time. We’ve had a different groomer each visit, and all of them have treated our boy with such sweetness and professionalism. They’ve also been super accommodating, even fitting us in for a quick wash on short notice. We’re so grateful to have found a place that makes Moe (and us!) feel comfortable and cared for.

Doggy Dog Grooming
12718 San Pablo Ave, RichmondShaneeka was great handling my dog. Got him to stay still to clip his toenails while most other places would manhandled him. She has my dog finished within the hour and he's looking clean, happy and smelling good. Glad I found her.

Pet Care

Animal Fix Clinic (formerly Fix Our Ferals)
12226 San Pablo Ave, RichmondI had two of my French Bulldogs spayed at AFC on 4/8/2024. To say the least, I was very nervous as brachiocephalic breeds, run a higher chance of complications with and from anesthesia. Because of this, most low cost spay/neuter clinics, including local shelters will not accept Frenchies or other brachiocephalic breeds. However, not only did AFC accept my girls, Dr. Goh and her team took EXCEPTIONAL care of both of them! The organization of the entire clinic is stellar, from scheduling (only done online around mid month, so may be a bit of a wait to get an appointment), to drop off and pick up! One of my girls, Paris, bounced right back to normal within 5-6 hrs after picking her up,(I believe a bit too soon), because of this, I was worried about my other girl, London, who took almost 2 days to start acting like herself again. Needless to say, Dr. Goh was absolutely caring, responsive and patient with my after hour concerns. I would like to mention that AFC is a nonprofit clinic who is accepting donations and also has a GoFundMe to help sponsor the move to their new location. If you are local to this wonderful organization, they can also use old newspapers and other types of donations.

As it progresses, Dr. Kwon prescribes effective meds that improve our little guy’s quality of life. Nearly three years later, we’re very grateful for the care and experience that’s allowed us to keep Ray comfortable and living his best life. In addition, the pricing is lower than other vets we’ve used.

Metro Dog
3117 Pierce St, RichmondWe love Metro Dog! Everyone knows our dog Coltrane by name and greets him like an old friend. He absolutely loves his supervised park trips—he always comes home happy, well-exercised, and energized in the best way.
The team does an amazing job making our pup feel welcome and at ease. Coltrane adores Keyon and the entire staff—they’ve truly become his second family. When we come to pick him up at the end of the day, he insists on saying goodbye with big kisses and joyful tail wags. We’re so grateful to have a place where he feels safe, social, and so loved. Metro Dog is the best!

The Factory Bar
12517 San Pablo Ave, RichmondIt’s my favorite place in the neighborhood. A frequent hang out with Besties and very welcoming place to go where to feel right at home. This place has improved the neighborhood; the owners are very community minded and there’s a beautiful Bee garden. I am grateful this place survived the pandemic. There is a Taqueria next door with good food you can bring in or a that are also good. Oh! And dog friendly! ?

Gran Milan
5327 Jacuzzi St, RichmondDude...might be the best sandwich I've ever had! Seriously...I'm a bit of a food snob, this place did not disappoint. Went to get a window tinted at the tint shop ( Shout out to the Tint Co. Richmond...fantastic service, quality products) and passed by this cafe on the way into the parking lot. I could smell it as I drove by and my mouth was already watering. I asked the dude at the tint co about the cafe and he got super pumped. Highly recommended it, so I went there while I was waiting for them to install the tint. Somewhat small menu ( which I don't mind at all) but with plenty of options. Panini, salads, soups, pastries, espresso etc...I had the chicken pesto panini, my coworker got the porchetta one. Omg!!! So killer. Fresh. Home made with love. The bread (focaccia) was so light and delicious. Pesto was super fresh, vibrant green color. Fresh tomatoes and herbs. I'm going to be craving this place for an eternity. I cannot wait to have it again. Bravo Cafe Gran Milan!!

Frosty King
171 Harbour Way S, RichmondI finally tried the King Burger at Frosty King and honestly... it lives up to the hype. What makes it so good is how fresh and old-school everything tastes. The burger isn't one of those fast-food ones that's been sitting around--it tastes like it's made right when you order it, hot and juicy with that classic grill flavor. A lot of people mention that "made-to-order" feel and unique flavor you just don't get from big chains . The bun is soft but holds everything together perfectly, and the meat has that slightly crispy edge while still being juicy inside. The toppings are simple but hit--nothing fancy, just done right. It's one of those burgers where every bite actually tastes balanced instead of messy. Also, the vibe of the place adds to it. It's got that old-school, local burger stand feel, like stepping back in time, which makes the food hit even harder . And for the price, it's honestly a steal compared to most spots now. If you're tired of generic fast food and want something that actually tastes real, the King Burger here is . Definitely one of the best lowkey burger spots in Richmond.

Maya Taqueria
130 Railroad Ave, RichmondCame to eat here because we wanted to try something new and we were not disappointed. We tried the chicken, carnitas, lengua, chorizo, asada and pastor. All were flavorful i think my favorite was the chorizo :) the only Down side is that it’s a small place 4 spots to sit inside and the rest of the tables are outside. I’m not sure of they have bathroom either but I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu !

Sichuan Fusion
3288 Pierce St Ste B-109, RichmondDelicious! My favorite dish was the hot and spicy crispy prawns. The dishes are large, so great to share.
The service was great! The music choice didn’t really fit the atmosphere, but it didn’t take away from the quality of the food.
