Healthy Spot Pet Grooming & Supplies
1510 Walnut St, BerkeleyDid a fantastic job on my old boy, Leroy. I got the works and it was worth it. Leroy is delighted with himself. Attention to detail and care. Carlo was the groomer and held him a couple hours extra too bc I was working, very kind, gave extra tip. Will be back!

Healthy Spot Grooming
3206 College Avenue, BerkeleyBeen using this place for a few years since our other groomers closed, Eva is always able to manage my feisty dog who may try to bite and is anxious, she also gave good advice about minor issues with the dog. Prices are reasonable on a scale depending on dog weight, and it's easy to get an appointment. They also sell pet food and supplies.

Pet Care

Campus Veterinary Clinic
1807 Martin Luther King Jr Way, BerkeleyFor more than 25 years I’ve had Campus Vet Clinic look after the succession of Brussels Griffons that took over my life. My Griffs have outlasted a couple generations of Campus vets, and the current crew and their cheerful support staff are worthy successors to those who came before.
Drs. Pierson and Tam have helped ease my Trixie into her matronly years, keeping under control later-life conditions like dry eye and declining mobility.
I am getting to the age when I wish the benefits of my own healthcare providers were as predictably positive as those enjoyed by my little friends. As always, we dog lovers strive to provide to our canine companions the things we cannot always get for ourselves.

R Positive Dog Walking
1472 University Ave, BerkeleyI wish Google would let us give 1,000 stars... there are really not enough stars available here to explain how wonderful Jolie and R Positive Dog Walking are! We have been the luckiest to work with Jolie for the past 9 years. It is a big deal to trust someone to take your dogs out into the world for adventures, or stay in your home and care for your dogs when you're traveling. Jolie is the absolute best we've ever worked with and we trust her completely. She is professional, genuinely loves the pups, is an excellent communicator including daily updates and photos, and is always looking out for the dogs' well-being. To illustrate how amazing Jolie is: one of our dogs had severe anxiety when she was younger, and we searched high and low for a walker who would be a good fit for us. Jolie met us for training sessions before starting walks, was incredibly patient as we continued that training, thoughtfully chose locations for walks where triggers would not be present, and showed so much love and care for our dog. Fast forward to today: our dog is a confident girl, enjoying her adventures with Jolie and happily greeting other dogs and people on her walks, and our lives are forever changed for the better ❤️ If you are looking for a dog walker or dog sitter, look no further - you are in the best hands with Jolie!!

BravoPup
941 The Alameda, BerkeleyI would give 500 stars instead of 5 stars if I could. My young, rambunctious Great Dane Otis and I LOVED the BravoPup class run by Anna Carlson. We took her Dog 1 and Dog 2 classes in Rockridge.
Anna’s methods are totally fun, totally force free - and they totally work! We had been having trouble with Otis’s recall and after only our first 2 classes Otis had a super solid recall - seriously, wild horses couldn’t keep him away when he hears his recall word.
Anna later helped me with private sessions acclimating my older dog to a new rescue dog. It was miraculous how quickly and effectively Anna was able to diffuse the situation and get my older dog to be calm and relaxed in the presence of the new dog.
Anna really knows what she’s doing and it’s obvious she has a special talent for reading dogs and figuring out stress free ways to guide them into the behavior we want.
Updates to follow - I’m so impressed with Anna, we’ll do more private sessions to help me continue to improve the behavior and happiness of my 3 Danes.
PS: Check out this photo showing how happy Otis is with his off leash time now that he can be trusted to come back.

Dog Gone Good
2412 Valley Street, BerkeleyI’ve known Mike as a dog trainer for over 14 years. I’ve had 3 very different dogs and with each one he was able to help us get them integrated. From a large dog who suddenly started lunging at smaller dogs in the park, to a GSP with unmatched energy and anxiety to our new puppy basic obedience and solid foundation. Mike is your guy.

Scoop N Chill
2122 Shattuck Avenue, BerkeleyThe atmosphere here is incredibly cozy, with couches outside where you can relax and enjoy your desserts. The vibe is brought together by the fun colors throughout the shop and the cutest little ice cream lights! The customer service there was also insanely good. I came during rush hour and there were so many people ordering however, I was being asked questions and helped throughout the process. The person helping me was extremely polite and ensured that everything was going well when I was there.
I tried these items:
🥞 Oreo Crepe
This was easily my favorite item on the menu! It had multiple thin, soft layers of crepe, and the inside was packed with Oreo crumbs, cream, and so much flavor. Every bite had the perfect combination of the soft crepe, creamy filling, and Oreo crunch. I could genuinely eat this one again and again!
🍪 Biscoff Croffle
This was perfectly crunchy on the outside while still being soft and fluffy on the inside. It was topped with a generous amount of Biscoff drizzle, which gave it that sweet caramelized Biscoff flavor without being too overwhelming. The crunch + drizzle combination was SO good!
🥭 Mango Lemonade
This was genuinely so, so good! I’m not usually a fan of really sweet drinks, and especially with lemonade, it can be really easy for the sugar to become overpowering. This had a great tangy mango flavor and was super refreshing! I even gave my dad a sip once I got home and it was officially dad approved. He was a big fan of it too!
🍓 Dubai Chocolate Strawberry
This was my first time trying Dubai chocolate strawberries and it was definitely a hit! The strawberry was super fresh and juicy, with a generous layer of chocolate and that crunchy, nutty pistachio-kataifi filling that made every bite so satisfying. I loved the combination of the fresh strawberry with the rich chocolate and crunchy filling!
Overall, Scoop N Chill is such a cute spot if you’re craving something sweet, especially if you want a place where you can actually sit, relax, and enjoy your dessert. Next time I go, I'm definitely interested in also trying the gelato and the sushi crepes

Bangkok by the Bay
800 Heinz Ave #19, BerkeleyWe just had dinner at Bangkok By The Bay and highly recommend it. The food was super tasty: we got Pad Makuer with tofu, brown rice, and a special that I think was called Choo Chee Salmon. The vegetables were all really tasty and nicely cooked, and the tofu and salmon were really good. The service is great, they were attentive and helpful--even brought a bed for our dog, and some water for her too. The outdoor seating is quiet and pleasant, not right on the street, with the additional nice element of the sound of the fountain nearby.

Berkeley Humane
2700 Ninth St, BerkeleyToday we found a tiny stray cat near the Berkeley BART station. He looked so small and vulnerable, and honestly we had no idea what to do. A quick Google search led us to Berkeley Humane, so we drove right over.
When we first arrived, we had trouble finding the entrance — but a staff member spotted us wandering and kindly walked us in. They welcomed the little guy with open arms and named him Bart (perfect name, given where we found him).
It’s clear everyone here genuinely cares about animals. We left feeling so reassured knowing Bart is in good hands and starting a brand new chapter of his life. Thank you, Berkeley Humane — you made a stressful situation feel hopeful. ?
