474 Ignacio Blvd, NovatoI can't speak highly enough about Woodlands-Novato. They are just a great team of people who truly care about the well-being of animals (and their human companions)! We had a love-bug foster kitten who was with us for months because we really wanted to adopt him but realized he needed much more activity/stimulation like other kittens/dogs in the home. It was heartbreaking to let him go, but Woodlands helped him find the absolutely perfect new home where he is now very happy and loved. They were all so kind and communicative and it shows they just really care about their work!

1559 S Novato Blvd Suite B1-2, NovatoI love this salon. You can call last minute and get taken. My dog has come back looking exactly what I asked for the two times I have brought him. He also doesn't come back smelling from some stinky shampoo but rather smells very neutral. And the prices are extremely reasonable I highly recommend this place.

753 McClay Rd, NovatoDestiny Kidder Buel is an extraordinarily gifted And effective dog trainer. Our dog is a Boxer, Labrador mix with a dash of Pit bull and weighs 80 pounds. I am under 5 feet tall and was really struggling to keep her with me and a safe distance from other dogs. I hired Destiny and probably saved my dog's life. My home was my dog's third try. I learned to keep the leash short, reward all good behavior , use non word cues and tell people my dog is not friendly. As I gained confidence, I was able to hike with my daughter and her golden retriever. I'm pretty sure I was the one trained but it takes an empathetic trainer to see the needs of both human and dog and find middle ground. Destiny is empathetic and professional. I highly recommend Destiny Kidder Buel.

511 Atherton Ave, NovatoI brought my 3 year old dog here for behavioral consult due to anxiety and uncooperativeness with her other vet. The space was warm and inviting. Dr Evans and the other staff were great with her and did a wonderful job working with her very cautious and hyper alert personality. The doctor took plenty of time getting to know us and provided some helpful advice. By the end of our appointment, my dog even let the doctor pet her, which is unusual for her the first time she meets someone. I’m optimistic that my girl will get comfortable enough for a physical exam. Would highly recommend, especially if you have an anxious dog.

She also got her crown amputated and was caught on early to prevent further damage, they called the next day to check up on Ivy and very awesome to work with them.

When I follow her advice, looking keenly at the dogs around us in any situation, it increases my awareness of what is going on with the dogs I am with and if I do as Kelli has shown me within a couple of hours or less, I know what they are up to and what could happen next! I now prevent uncomfortable situations with my young Shepard mix who wants to herd dogs even! Kelli is great in all situations and is helping me and my son have a better relationship with our dog. From the first session she is showing me how to have Princess Kitty make friends with other dogs! Kelli is a master dog communicator- from dog body language of all the dogs to subtle and quick changes in the eyes of dogs - and is a phenomenal trainer hands down the best I'm met. She understands what dogs at up to at all moments, and all the possibilities of what could happen next. Kelli may work with puppies but she easily works well with my 50 lb active shepherd as well as my son's friends terrier a 8 lb rescue from the streets of California. Kelly understands dog body language and dogs so well she can predict their next moves easily. Great trainer wonderful lady who truly speaks dog! I would highly recommend her in any situation with any dog, or even if you want to get to know your dog better and make more doggie friends! Sky's the limit with Kelli, expect Miracles!

The staff @ Bridewell is professional, genuinely love our 4 legged friends & take great pride in keeping to their “guests”
(their words) dietary or special needs. The property has a large yard for Atlas to run & play.
Most importantly, our pups go out in small groups & are carefully supervised by a staff member. Thank you Bridewell!

Country Inn
527 Atherton Ave, NovatoOur Koda has been staying at Country Inn for Pets since 2021. Natalie (owner) has been providing great care to Marin pet owners for decades. She loves dogs and has many of her own. We prefer that Koda be in a safe place that does not have open play with other dogs while away. Even though she is very friendly with dogs and people we do not want to risk an accident. Natalie goes beyond just caring for our furry family members by giving them chicken breast nightly which I'm sure Koda goes crazy for. There is time throughout the day for walks and free play with the staff and they also allow pickups by our friends to take them out with their dogs t the park. I highly recommend Country Inn for Pets for short and long stays. Koda longest stay was a little over 2 weeks.

Finally I found Fetch! who put me in touch with a fabulous sitter who had experience administering the insulin injection that my cat needs. She sent me pictures and updates after every visit, putting my heart at ease! Plus Fetch! sent daily email diaries. Plus they are very responsive and communicative. Wonderful organization!

67 Galli Dr ste e, NovatoI gave this spot 5 stars as it’s the best brewery in Marin county. They always have a good rotating selection including good lagers, pilsners, German, and hazy IPA’s. They also have some arcade games and pinball in the back. The spot is nice and quiet in an industrial area so not much traffic and decent to be in with your kids or dogs. Customer service is good as well. No food but they allow you to bring your own.

1301 Grant Ave, NovatoThe taproom here is awesome! I like to stop by after a mountain bike ride for some delicious cold beer. They open early Friday through Sunday which is perfect for me. Im usually greeted by Michael who is very nice, and knowledgeable about the company and all the different beers. Nice people here, great location, lots of fun. From there you have a tree-lined street of options, for shopping and lunch. In this case the food was supercalifragilistic. The staff person was super nice; friendly from the moment I walked in, and through out. They have a fantastic selection, stuff you don't often still see; very nostalgic. Thr ambiance is "over top". I had alot of fun.
