280 Northgate Dr, San RafaelMy experience at this shop was outstanding because of Emily - she went above and beyond for me and my pups, and I wanted to express my gratitude. I have 2 elderly little Maltese, one is going through treatment for lymphoma and the medication he’s on makes him hungry ALL the time. It was the end of the day and we were out of food, so I did a search for one of their favorite brands, “Just Food for Dogs” on google maps and the closest location was a few minutes away from where I was. I drove to the address, but I couldn’t find it, so I called the store (in actuality it was Petfood Express, but there’s a listing error on google maps). Anyway, Emily picked up the phone and she is so sweet, warm and bubbly. I verified the location, and was thankful the store was still open so I thanked her and told her I would be there shortly. She informed me that the store had actually just closed (another google maps error). I expressed my disappointment because I really needed to pick up some food. She asked how close I was (I was in the parking lot) and because she hadn’t closed out the register just yet she said she could check me out if I wanted to run in. She was waiting for me at the door, I knew exactly what I needed, she helped me pick out a few flavors and checked me out. I was so very thankful!! She truly understands the meaning of exceptional customer, and helped me (and my hungry pup) in a time of need. It’s not very often that I leave an establishment feeling like the person I interacted with really cares, but this was one of those rare moments. I would definitely go out of my way to visit this shop again because it was such a good experience. Thank you again!

Inside Pet Food Express, 280 Northgate Dr, San RafaelKristin from the Benicia store is amazing. my 7 year old chihuahua mix is a very picky eater. she took time with me and helped me find some food to give him and even told me how to introduce the new food to him. I can't thank her enough for taking so much time with me and helped me pup and me feel better. She over and beyond we will be back to that store again for sure

During his stays, they administer his insulin twice daily and also give him his oral chemotherapy. Whenever he has had any issues they alert us promptly and have provided the necessary care. We’re extremely grateful for them!

The fellow that owns the place is lovely and warm, and the dog was done earlier than expected, they put them in little cribs while they wait which I loved. Because after all he is my baby.

But he LOVES Mati; we followed her to Houndsville from her prior workplace because he barely let me clip his nails, but she can do a full and perfect groom and he is still thrilled to see her. He is always happy to go, which is amazing and so great to see.

We have taken our doodle to almost every groomer in Marin county and this is the first place that has not left our dog looking like a cartoon dog. Also their prices are reasonable. Not cheap but affordable given that our dog gets trimmed every 8 weeks.

I just recently got a puppy and she is due for her 2nd round of vaccinations. The receptionist politely told me that they are currently not taking any new clients due to COVID-19, which seemed reasonable. She placed me on a brief hold and she instructed me to call back in a few days when another vet would be in the office and she may be able to see my puppy! Additionally, she gave me some great advice on taking care of my puppy's diarrhea caused by her diet and dewormer. My puppy is now pooping normally and much happier! Looking forward to reaching out again in the upcoming days to hopefully get her seen for her shots!

419 Irwin St, San RafaelA competent and respectable vet service operating in San Rafael. It is commonplace that vet appointments are often very difficult to arrange in a timely matter which is not the case with this Vet Clinic. They were relatively quick to get us seen and the clinic is clean and pretty and well organized. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and willing to educate as well as treat. The only problem I have with this clinic is a problem I have with the entire vet business as a whole: for a relatively simple visit I was charged steeply. It's so expensive just to be seen.Maybe I'm wrong but I miss the days when vets tried to save their customers money by avoiding unnecessary half measures and all the nickel and dime extras that you couldn't dream would be on the bill at any point during the visit.But this is definitely a great vet service and I recommend them.

4280 Redwood Hwy STE 4, San RafaelDog whisperer and now cat whisperer. Dr. Marinho is a gift. It started with our Bernese Mountain Dog. He was beginning to have frequent neck pain. It was painful to watch him. He is 10.5 years old. So that is awesome for a Berner. His regular vet put him on Gabapentin daily which takes a toll on a dog’s liver/kidneys. I refused to give him daily. Since Sterling has been seeing Dr. Marinho for acupuncture and taking muscle and neck supplements, he’s like a 2 year old. He has not shown any neck/spine discomfort for months. On his walks, people ask if he’s two. Now our Ragdoll cat is 12.5 years old and got very sick. So is it hyperthyroidism, IBS, or lymphoma? So now Dr. Marinho is treating him as well. We now started acupuncture and supplements on him. She is so knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She is a delightful partner in figuring out the best options for my senior guys. I’m grateful for Dr. Marinho. Selfishly with all the kudos, I fear she’ll get even busier. Oh well, she is amazing. 840 Francisco Blvd W, San RafaelDr. Schoengart has been very attentive to the needs of our rescue dog, Ozzie. She is careful and caring. The staff is friendly and we always feel welcome. The business has one flaw that I've noticed: sometimes the person who answers the phone (no names!) can sound overwrought and overwhelmed and can make me feel like I'm bothering them by calling! This is just a phone problem and does not reflect the Vet service, which is excellent, but it should be remedied. It's very off-putting. Other than that, we have no complaints about the care at Marin Pet Hospital. They are good, kind humans who really love animals.

4460 Redwood Hwy Suite 11, San RafaelSo thankful to Golden Gate. I called 3 other dermatology specialists in the bay area, and all 3 were giving me a wait time of 4 months. When I called GG they gave me about 2 month wait time but, listened. The receptionist I spoke with was so kind and didn't dismiss my dogs issues but encouraged me to be my dogs advocate. She told me to send pictures and even stayed on the phone to confirm I got my confirmation email. I live in Palo Alto, which should tell you how far I'm willing to go for my dog. They got me in the following week. The nurses were amazing and gentle with my dog, and Dr. Fleschman was so thorough and the medications he prescribed are working so well. Luna is a senior dog with horrible fur loss and scans all over. Thankful to the doctor and incredible staff .10/10.

The team is responsive and eager to find a solution that fits your needs whether you just need a home check in, walks, someone to stay with your pet. Our little dog has terrible anxiety and is nervous around new people, but Karin was so good at helping her feel calm and loved while we were gone. She was very thorough with our dog's care, sent us pictures, followed up to ensure we got home ok in case our dog needed anything else. We will definitely rely on this service going forward.

A Better Dog Trainer
987 Del Ganado Rd, San RafaelWe adopted a doberman mix and it was clear on day 2 that this was not going to be an easy dog. He was very willful, energetic and had some very unpredictable aggression issues - as in I could not walk him without him lunging and even, to my horror, nipping people on several occasions. My dog was also determined to rip my shoulder out of it's socket. Now we walk without incident and pulling. There have been other bumps along the way, but John always handles them in a very calm and compassionate manner. My dog, who is not overly affectionate, loves to see John: his tail always thumps upon John's arrival.

This puppy daycare and training program provided everything we could have hoped for and more.From the very beginning, our little pup was well taken care of and quickly learned essential commands such as sit, stay, and come when called. The socialization aspect was a game-changer, as our puppy was able to interact with other pups in a safe and controlled environment. He absolutely adored going to school every day, and we could tell by the way he raced in with excitement!One of the highlights of our experience was receiving weekly videos from Hillary herself. These videos allowed us to continue the same training at home and maintain consistency, which was invaluable for our puppy's development.The other instructors and caregivers at Hillary's Hounds House were equally fabulous, always demonstrating their dedication and passion for what they do. It was such a relief to know our puppy was in such capable hands, and it allowed us the freedom to focus on our daily tasks without worry.Hillary, the owner, was an absolute joy to work with. Her knowledge, warmth, and support made our experience even more memorable. 629 Lindaro St, San RafaelI have no doubt that my dog was well-cared for on his recent stay but I was distressed that when I picked him up he stank of dog urine so badly that I needed to take him immediately for a $17 bath. My dog is 7 and has boarded since he was a pup. There was only one other time that I had this experience in Baltimore and was told that other dogs were peeing on him. I hope this wasn't the case here but I don't have another explanation.

The chicken was fine I guess, but the bread was very very soggy and just felt apart. The bread was very bad. My friend had also ordered the same sandwich without the gf option, his bread was fine but the sandwich wasn't anything special. Would not recommend the gf option!
