Stone's Pet Shop - Pacific Grove
1122 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveSome of the kindest helpers for our little animals work here. Our little Spark got his toe caught in a harness. I thought there might be a kind of tool to help remove it from his little toe. One of the staff members said she’s seen it before, and removed the clip so easily! I was struggling all morning! So so grateful for their help!

Stone's Pet Wash
2711 David Ave, Pacific GroveWe took our skittish cat to see Canyon for a bath, dry, and a shave. She also cut her nails. We told Canyon that our kitty was a scaredy-cat and she might try to bite her during her spa day. When we picked her up, Canyon said that there was no problem at all really. Our fur baby was a little bit afraid of the bath but overall things went pretty smoothly! We were amazed! We will be back for sure! Oh, did I mention that my daughter's name is Canyon, cool, huh? Thank you so much for your patience!

Pet Grooming

Debbie's Grooming
1213 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveI have a five month old Yorkie and I took him to Pet Smart for his first grooming and he ended up being injured. Pam was recommended by a lady on the app Nextdoor and I gave her a try . Pam was amazing and she took good care of my Yorkie . She also did my daughters Yorkie who happens to be my pups twin brother. She did an amazing job and I will be taking my Bailey to her from now on . Pam is so good with the pups and it’s shows that she cares about them too . Thank you so much for taking such good care of my babies .

Grooms by the Bay
223 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveThey are so friendly and they obviously love dogs. Like me, they have an American Eskimo dog so they understand the importance of de-matting and they're great at. We now have standing regular appointments.

Pet Care

Peninsula Animal Hospital
252 Crossroads Blvd, Carmel-By-The-SeaDr. Sheryl and Dr. Cowan are both incredible vets. We have been to other vets in the area and no one compares to them. They’re very kind very thorough. Dr. Sheryl caught some thing in my dog that had been missed by a previous exam with a different vet. I so appreciate, her expertise and she and Dr. Cohen both have amazing bedside manner. This is also a practice that has lot of integrity. They are more than fair and their pricing. We love them and will never go anyplace.

Pacific Grove Animal Hospital
1023 Austin Ave, Pacific GroveI had been going to the same vet for years until I found PG animal hospital. I love Dr. Kaplan-Dau who sees my cat. She runs the business well and her staff have all been there a long time. They have fair pricing and packages for vaccines, etc. I can often get my cat in quickly when needed.I also love that I have been able to board my cat when out of town knowing they took great care of her.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Julia's
1180 Forest Ave suite f, Pacific GrovePlenty of options and the two we had were delicious. I got the Green Eggs and Avocado while my daughter got Candy Cap French Toast. It’s a vegetarian restaurant, but vegan options for everything. They get their vegan egg from a Loving Hut and it’s top tier. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-12

Cafe Guarani
111 Central Ave, Pacific GroveThis place is epic. I got the fried beef empanada and the beef croquettes, which were out of this world. My wife got the vegan soy empanada and the soy croquettes which were equally incredible. We shared yucca fries and got the iced mint yerba mates. Everything was made to perfection and absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend. Don't miss it if you're here.

Lucy's on Lighthouse
1120 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveDropped by this restaurant this afternoon for a lunch visit after hearing great things. Both my husband and I very much enjoyed our dogs. Chili meat on the Dunes was a bit overcooked (burnt bits) and the hot Cheetos dust on the Otters are definitely a little stale. We enjoyed our meal (tots were indeed crispy and tasty) and would return if in the area. Agree with other reviews that the meal is pricey (40 bucks for two people is pretty steep for two hot dogs and tater tots).
Response: typically I don’t do this, but sure, let’s go. Yeah ok, we ordered two cans of soda too. The shady correction on the pricing is still shady. We paid $40. Sales tax is real, but it’s like a $10 hot dog. Given that the chili was burnt and toppings stale, I think that’s important in the review. I know you won’t really miss us, but all the same we’ll forego coming back. Happy new year.

Rudolfo's Café
543 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveAny meal here is great really however recently we really try to make it to their brunch . We have had so many of their items on the brunch menu and we never had a miss but we always order the breakfast burrito it’s one of our favorite breakfast items anywhere. If you can’t make it for brunch they have great pasta dishes and pizzas . On Sundays they have a pop up and we always get fried chicken sandwiches and Mac n cheese to go when we are on family outings to the beach or park . I wish I had got some better photos because this does it no justice. It’s a great restaurant for families or date night in a cozy location.

Red House Cafe
662 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveIt's kind of a quirky place. We got sat by the bathroom because the front room had a few too many flies. The patio or sidewalk is probably the way to go here. The chorizo and eggs were great. They did wonders with some store-bought tortillas, and the potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. Everyone around the table loved their food. We didn't get any cookies, but they sure looked good.

Sticks
2700 17 Mile Dr, Pacific GroveSTICKS Restaurant at The Inn at Spanish Bay has unbeatable views of the Pacific Ocean and a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes it a great place to unwind.
While the overall experience was good, two dishes really stood out as exceptional. The Smoked Maple Eggs (soft boiled eggs | trout roe | bacon | roasted garlic aïoli | chives | smokey maple | grilled baguette) were one of the most unique and delicious dishes I’ve ever had. The Blistered Shishito Peppers (crispy quinoa | furikake ranch | garlic salt | lemon) were just as impressive, with amazing flavor and texture.
The wine selection was well paired, and although the service was a bit slow, everyone was friendly and professional. The combination of ocean views and memorable dishes made it well worth the visit.

Happy Girl Kitchen Co
173 Central Ave, Pacific GroveGreat breakfast spot in Pacific Grove and amazing coffee!! They make their own jams/preserves as well, and oh my gosh, absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff and cute atmosphere. We didn't have time to look around at all the products being sold in the adjacent store, but I'm sure it was all fantastic.

Vivolo's Chowder House
127 Central Ave, Pacific GroveAbsolutely incredible from start to finish!! Food is absolutely fantastic (specifically the clam chowder in bread bowl and fried calamari). They are to die for! Also, the white chocolate cheesecake was the best thing we've ever tasted in our lives. Service was also the best ever. Will definitely be coming back, and highly recommend this place to everyone:).

Winston’s - A brunch place
602 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveStayed in Monterey for the weekend with hubby and we went here for breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was great!! The place inside is small, so depending on the time you show up, you might have to wait for a seat. We didnt wait long because we sat outside on a beautiful gloomy day. We love the cold weather, so it was perfect for us. Our waitress let us know about that days special, which was chilaquiles, and Im glad I ordered them because they were GOOD!! My husband loved his chicken and waffle. And my favorote was their chocolate chip pancakes with caramelized bananas on top. *chefs kiss*

Peace of Mind Dog Rescue
615 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveMy pomeranian dog that is only three and a half years old suffered from stones in his bladder and had to go get surgery the day of. I was shocked because I don't have any pet insurance and had to pay almost $4,000. Peace of mind dog rescue donated $300 while Max Helping Paws foundation donated $1,850. Wow! They are professional, timely, responsive, and kind hearted, my dog wouldn't have gone through the surgery and would have died that day or have even more serious medical complications because I would not have able to fully pay for the out of pocket medical costs. Thank you Max Helping Paws and peace of mind dog rescue for saving my dogs life. Let me know what I can do to help your foundation as much as you have helped me. Thank you...

Animal Friends Rescue Project
161 Fountain Ave, Pacific GroveAs a Pacific Grove resident, I wanted to write and commend you on your excellent management of the AFRP store. I am a 23-year local and I witnessed the store transformation from your Fountain Ave location to your current store location on Grand Ave.
The previous store was, to say it delicately, a bit messy. In the first few weeks in your new location I was able to snag a jewel of an antique that was underpriced. After a short time, however, Stephanie became manager and turned the hodgepodge store into a jewel of Pacific Grove.
Suddenly a dressing room was created, items were logically arranged, and there was (and is) a welcoming environment. What a transformation!
Kudos to Stephanie and her hard work at AFRP. I’m certain the animals are applauding, too.
