Purrfurably Cats Animal Hospital
481 Cortes St, MontereyWhen I had my last cat that had cancer they were able to tell me exactly what was wrong with her before I had to put her to sleep at least I knew what was going on and that I could not save her. So I made her comfortable before putting her down. Now I have two new members of the family and they'll be going there as well and I just gave the information to one of my cousins so she could take her cat there as well they are the best in Monterey County personal opinion very professional

Veterinary Eye Clinic Monterey Bay
2 Harris Ct A1, MontereyWe were referred to Veterinary Eye Clinic when our St. Bernard suddenly developed blindness in one eye. While we unfortunately had to let her go after just a few appointments with the vets, we had a wonderful experience during the time we did work with the team. We were always able to get an appointment asap, the team was so kind, and when our girl passed they sent the sweetest card with condolences. We even got word that a donation was made in our girl’s name to ACVO Vision For Animals Foundation. We couldn’t have asked for a better team during a very tough time.

Aguajito Veterinary Hospital
1221 10th St, MontereyMy dog is getting older (over 13) and having more medical issues as he ages. Aguajito has been very helpful with diagnosing him, giving several recommendations, and helping me manage all his check ups. They helped clear up his paw and ear issues and coordinated with his other vet on his chronic rhinitis issues. Overall everyone at Aguajito has been very helpful through the whole, long process! Thank you Dr. Rubin and everyone who has helped my pup on his health journey!

Animal Cancer Center
530 Ramona Ave, MontereyThey saved my dog Mindy's life. That alone is invaluable to my family and I, and we will forever be in their debt, certainly worth more than just a five star review. These are the most intelligent, professional, and empathetic people I have ever met in my life, doing what I feel is one of the most intellectually and emotionally demanding jobs I know of (seeing animals in one of the most dire of situations).
My dog Mindy is a Sharpei mix, around 8 years old, and she was diagnosed with multicentric Lymphoma. For about a month, she grew tumors larger than the size of a tennis ball throughout her body and got to the point where our the vet was surprised that she was not experiencing more complications than she already was. We were recommended to various SAGE hospitals and this clinic by our local vet, this being the last place that was handwritten onto the page. Although smaller than the SAGE hospitals (I assume), they had the earliest availability (they give lymphoma patients priority due to the speed and nature of the illness) and the lowest cost (one of the SAGE hospitals required a deposit before even booking the appointment, this place obviously did not), and probably the best care, and I will be forever grateful that we chose them. After consultation, we opted for a 15 week CHOP (seemingly a medley of chemo chemicals) protocol (another route seemed to be a Tanovea drug 15 week protocol) which required us to drive about 3 hours each way every couple of weeks (there were no other veterinary oncologists for about a 3 hour radius from us in Fresno, CA) for around 9 visits total, averaging around 150 to 355 dollars per visit (somewhere in between $2000 to $2400 in total). Her tumors went away and she went into complete remission before the end of the treatment (though we completed the 15 week protocol and all visits regardless). Animals apparently don't tend to experience as many bad side effects to chemo treatments like humans do and this was our experience with Mindy as well. The average remission length is apparently around 6 months. If it comes back, there are follow up treatment plans available. We don't know how much time this has given to Mindy, but she started acting like her normal self, rather than the lethargic and likely pained version with tumors throughout her body. I don't regret a single thing and I would do it all over again if I had to.
I highly recommend them of course, feel free to ask any specifics of my experience, would be happy to answer.
Edit: She was in remission for roughly 3 months, then treatment again here for roughly 3 months, but sadly was put to sleep yesterday. These people gave me 9 extra months with the love of my life, Mindy and I will always be grateful to them. Please hug and kiss and tell your dog you love them so much right now for me.

I ended up having the spicy breakfast sandwich with added chorizo and wow it was amazing. The portions are huge so come with an empty stomach and no lunch plans for the day. If we come back to the area this is a spot I will most definitely visit for breakfast again.

Stokes Adobe restaurant
500 Hartnell St, MontereyMy boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner last night. What a romantic experience. The ambiance is gorgeous; it's been a minute since I've seen real candles lit at a table. There are different rooms, and we were seated in one that had a lovely bookshelf beside us. Parking is not too difficult; there's plenty of street parking! Our server was so sweet without being intrusive, it can feel a bit awkward at times going to a restaurant when the servers are required to ask how we're doing every .5 seconds. That was not the case here. We ordered the Caviar Service, Crispy Potatoes with Lemon Truffle Crema, and a Duck Liver Mousse Toast for starters. As for our shared entree, we picked the Big Sur Chanterelle Tagliolini. Our server made sure that the pacing that the food would be coming out at would be to our preference, and communicated it nicely. Which, by the way, all came out in a timely manner. The Caviar Service was beautiful. I appreciated how they plated it all. It comes with 30g of white sturgeon caviar resting on ice, chives, creme fraiche, potato chips, and blinis. Tasted great, nothing to complain about, we had fun with it. The Crispy Potatoes with Lemon Truffle Crema were delicious! Crisped up to perfection. It was definitely a bit filling for a starter, but great nonetheless. The Duck Liver Mousse Toast? I'd write home about that. I loved how the vinaigrette sweetened and brightened up those flavors, and the parsley went beautifully with it all. The thinly sliced shallots were gorgeous. Our Big Sur Chanterelle Tagliolini had housemade pasta, and you could really taste a difference! I'm a big texture girl, so it made the experience so enjoyable. Chanterelles are my favorite mushrooms, so I was so happy with how they melted in my mouth. 10/10! For dessert, I decided to go with the very popular Yelp review: The Chocolate Budini! I agree, it is probably one of the best desserts that I've ever had. The textures of a delicate, crispy wafer with the little chocolate balls and soft mousse come together for a great mouthfeel. It's balanced, not too sweet or bitter. I decided to try the pistachio gelato since I love anything pistachio flavored, and it did not disappoint. Overall, amazing experience. I would definitely come back.
