Alta Vista Pet Salon
31 Park Ave, MontereyHe is amazing and did an excellent job with our goldendoodle! He clearly cares about dogs and Oliver surprisingly was calm and let him just pick him up and take him with him to his appointment which shocked me and my partner because he never does that, and he didn't come back stressed out and exhausted. The trim on his face looked great, overall, exactly what we wanted!

Purrfurably Cats Animal Hospital
481 Cortes St, MontereyWhen I had my last cat that had cancer they were able to tell me exactly what was wrong with her before I had to put her to sleep at least I knew what was going on and that I could not save her. So I made her comfortable before putting her down. Now I have two new members of the family and they'll be going there as well and I just gave the information to one of my cousins so she could take her cat there as well they are the best in Monterey County personal opinion very professional

Aguajito Veterinary Hospital
1221 10th St, MontereyMy dog is getting older (over 13) and having more medical issues as he ages. Aguajito has been very helpful with diagnosing him, giving several recommendations, and helping me manage all his check ups. They helped clear up his paw and ear issues and coordinated with his other vet on his chronic rhinitis issues. Overall everyone at Aguajito has been very helpful through the whole, long process! Thank you Dr. Rubin and everyone who has helped my pup on his health journey!

Animal Cancer Center
530 Ramona Ave, MontereyThey saved my dog Mindy's life. That alone is invaluable to my family and I, and we will forever be in their debt, certainly worth more than just a five star review. These are the most intelligent, professional, and empathetic people I have ever met in my life, doing what I feel is one of the most intellectually and emotionally demanding jobs I know of (seeing animals in one of the most dire of situations).
My dog Mindy is a Sharpei mix, around 8 years old, and she was diagnosed with multicentric Lymphoma. For about a month, she grew tumors larger than the size of a tennis ball throughout her body and got to the point where our the vet was surprised that she was not experiencing more complications than she already was. We were recommended to various SAGE hospitals and this clinic by our local vet, this being the last place that was handwritten onto the page. Although smaller than the SAGE hospitals (I assume), they had the earliest availability (they give lymphoma patients priority due to the speed and nature of the illness) and the lowest cost (one of the SAGE hospitals required a deposit before even booking the appointment, this place obviously did not), and probably the best care, and I will be forever grateful that we chose them. After consultation, we opted for a 15 week CHOP (seemingly a medley of chemo chemicals) protocol (another route seemed to be a Tanovea drug 15 week protocol) which required us to drive about 3 hours each way every couple of weeks (there were no other veterinary oncologists for about a 3 hour radius from us in Fresno, CA) for around 9 visits total, averaging around 150 to 355 dollars per visit (somewhere in between $2000 to $2400 in total). Her tumors went away and she went into complete remission before the end of the treatment (though we completed the 15 week protocol and all visits regardless). Animals apparently don't tend to experience as many bad side effects to chemo treatments like humans do and this was our experience with Mindy as well. The average remission length is apparently around 6 months. If it comes back, there are follow up treatment plans available. We don't know how much time this has given to Mindy, but she started acting like her normal self, rather than the lethargic and likely pained version with tumors throughout her body. I don't regret a single thing and I would do it all over again if I had to.
I highly recommend them of course, feel free to ask any specifics of my experience, would be happy to answer.
Edit: She was in remission for roughly 3 months, then treatment again here for roughly 3 months, but sadly was put to sleep yesterday. These people gave me 9 extra months with the love of my life, Mindy and I will always be grateful to them. Please hug and kiss and tell your dog you love them so much right now for me.

Wells Amy E DVM

Dawg Gone It
539 Ramona Ave, MontereyWe had our 2 Frenchies at Dawg Gone It Day Lodging for 2 days while we were in Seaside. This was the first time we have left them at such a facility. Our pups really enjoyed it. The staff was Fri & willing to answer all our questions. We went to the Aquarium & left them at the day lodging. They were actually excited to go & were well taken care of. I would highly recommend Dawg Gone It to anyone looking for a clean, safe & caring facility. Verenice was especially nice & helpful.

Stokes Adobe restaurant
500 Hartnell St, MontereyCan't say enough good things about Stokes. Really cool vibe. Feels like you're eating dinner in someone's old home. Ambience was great. Food was delicious. Even our son's chicken tenders and potatoes was totally different than we had expected, in a great way. The duck liver toast was tasty and interesting -- not a flavor combo you taste every day. The steak and mash with brussel sprouts was delicious. The bolognese pasta was well done. On top of all that, the staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Everyone from the host, to our server, to the gentleman who saw us leaving with two kids in arms and made sure to hold the door open for us, everyone was great. I barely ever write a review for any place but Stokes deserves it. Spectacular. Go and you won't be disappointed.

The Wine Experience
381 Cannery Row, MontereyWe stopped in to have a small wine flight and a cheese board before dinner — we really enjoyed our experience and the food/wine. Lots of fun to try the different wines and the cheese board had a great variety of cheeses, fruit and crackers. We followed up the flight with a carafe of the Cab Franc which was our favorite. Can’t say enough about the service as well — very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
