Stone's Pet Shop - Pacific Grove
1122 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveSome of the kindest helpers for our little animals work here. Our little Spark got his toe caught in a harness. I thought there might be a kind of tool to help remove it from his little toe. One of the staff members said she’s seen it before, and removed the clip so easily! I was struggling all morning! So so grateful for their help!

Stone's Pet Wash
2711 David Ave, Pacific GroveWe took our skittish cat to see Canyon for a bath, dry, and a shave. She also cut her nails. We told Canyon that our kitty was a scaredy-cat and she might try to bite her during her spa day. When we picked her up, Canyon said that there was no problem at all really. Our fur baby was a little bit afraid of the bath but overall things went pretty smoothly! We were amazed! We will be back for sure! Oh, did I mention that my daughter's name is Canyon, cool, huh? Thank you so much for your patience!

Pet Grooming

Debbie's Grooming
1213 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveI have a five month old Yorkie and I took him to Pet Smart for his first grooming and he ended up being injured. Pam was recommended by a lady on the app Nextdoor and I gave her a try . Pam was amazing and she took good care of my Yorkie . She also did my daughters Yorkie who happens to be my pups twin brother. She did an amazing job and I will be taking my Bailey to her from now on . Pam is so good with the pups and it’s shows that she cares about them too . Thank you so much for taking such good care of my babies .

Grooms by the Bay
223 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveThey are so friendly and they obviously love dogs. Like me, they have an American Eskimo dog so they understand the importance of de-matting and they're great at. We now have standing regular appointments.

Pet Care

Peninsula Animal Hospital
252 Crossroads Blvd, Carmel-By-The-SeaThis is by far the best veterinary hospital. Dr. Cohen, Dr. Sherrill, and the entire staff at Peninsula Animal Hospital are absolutely amazing.
Dr. Cohen is encouraging, thoughtful, funny, and wonderfully witty. He instantly puts both pets and humans at ease. What truly sets him apart is that he always takes the time to fully evaluate the situation and offer thoughtful, alternative solutions rather than rushing into the most aggressive option.
Years ago, my pup had a leg injury and every other veterinary hospital we consulted immediately recommended surgery instead of rehabilitation. Dr. Cohen carefully evaluated her and advised against surgery unless it became absolutely necessary. Thank goodness we trusted his guidance. Today, she is healthy, loves running on the beach, and has no limitations at all.
I am beyond grateful for his expertise, honesty, and care. I highly recommend Peninsula Animal Hospital to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.

Cottage Veterinary Care
172 16th St, Pacific GroveUnfortunately the first time we ever went to this clinic we were met with bad news, informed our boy had cancer and it had spread into his lungs. We were absolutely devastated and heart broken. The team at this clinic was absolutely incredible and kind toward us, walking us through our options and then the process of having to say goodbye unexpectedly. They allowed us some time with him before we had to say goodbye and let us sit with him as long as we needed to grieve his loss. This group of women even went above and beyond and sent a personalized card in the mail sending their condolences ❤️ Our first interaction with Cottage Veterinary Care was unexpected and sad but I cannot thank them enough for the way they treated us and Bear during this difficult time. We will for sure be back with our other dog for his routine care during the rest of our time here in CA. (Photo added of our goodest boy in his last bit of time earth side ❤️)

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Julia's
1180 Forest Ave suite f, Pacific GroveI cannot recommend this place highly enough. Our food was fantastic. I got the faux orange chicken (made with cauliflower) and a small arugula salad. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. My husband got the tamales, which were also good (but mine was better ?). The ingredients were fresh, the service was friendly and knowledgeable, and the menu was clear. We are going back tomorrow for breakfast! Updated from previous review on 2026-04-02

Rudolfo's Café
543 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveMy friends will tell you how much I love to cook. Apparently, I'm quite good at it. My friends will also tell you I am a food snob. I was too tired to cook this evening and decided to get take-out from Rudolfo's for the first time. Apprehensive that the chicken in the Chicken Alfredo might be dry or overcooked (as it is in too many restaurants), I was delighted to find that it was (just about) perfect (a bit dry). The Alfredo sauce was absolutely creamy and perfectly balanced - no need for extra parmesan! I live for brussel sprouts on my plate. I have had them at several restaurants. I can tell you that Rudolfo's brussel sprouts are THE BEST I have ever eaten! Just enough balsamic, perfectly roasted and seasoned. Thank you

Cafe Guarani
111 Central Ave, Pacific GroveThis place is AMAZING. I always love whatever coffee or food I get here. This is my all time fav place in the Monterey area. The service is always so great, and it’s a beautiful place with indoor and outdoor seating! I love coming here to study. The only downside is parking can be tricky, but it’s a great area just park a couple blocks away there is cool shops and stuff along the way. Highly recommend!

Aliotti's Victorian Corner Restaurant
541 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveI had both lunch/dinner and breakfast at Aliotti’s Victorian Corner and everything was absolutely amazing!
For dinner, I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was absolutely wonderful creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also tried the ravioli, which was just as delicious. The waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure we were taken care of the entire time.
The atmosphere was quiet and really nice, especially during dinner. It wasn’t crowded, which honestly surprised me because everywhere else in Pacific Grove was booked this was one of the only places available. Honestly, this place should be booked too because the food is that amazing! I also loved that it’s a family-owned business, which made the experience feel even more warm and welcoming.
We came back the next morning for breakfast and got the Victorian French toast as well as the Denver omelet—both were amazing and just as delicious as dinner.
I truly loved this place and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The Monarch Pub and Restaurant
617 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveIn complete honesty I was in Pacific Grove for a long weekend and searched high and low for reliably good food every day, and after many attempts to find something, Monarch Pub had the most reliably good food good drink and good service. Would recommend!

662 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveThis was our 2nd visit to this cute cafe. I really like the quaintness of the cafe being in an older home. We sat outside since we have a dog. Plenty of patio seating for smaller groups.

Vivolo's Chowder House

The PG Meetinghouse
599 Lighthouse Ave, Pacific GroveI love this place for the ambiance. It’s very cozy, good music, with plenty of seating and a large fireplace. The coffee was surprisingly good: rich, deep, and strong. The latte reminded me of Vietnamese coffee. The only slight downside is cleanliness. The floors and bathrooms could use a deep clean, and the lack of toilet seat covers is a miss. Otherwise, really like this place and will be back.

Peace of Mind Dog Rescue
615 Forest Ave, Pacific GroveMy pomeranian dog that is only three and a half years old suffered from stones in his bladder and had to go get surgery the day of. I was shocked because I don't have any pet insurance and had to pay almost $4,000. Peace of mind dog rescue donated $300 while Max Helping Paws foundation donated $1,850. Wow! They are professional, timely, responsive, and kind hearted, my dog wouldn't have gone through the surgery and would have died that day or have even more serious medical complications because I would not have able to fully pay for the out of pocket medical costs. Thank you Max Helping Paws and peace of mind dog rescue for saving my dogs life. Let me know what I can do to help your foundation as much as you have helped me. Thank you...

Animal Friends Rescue Project
161 Fountain Ave, Pacific GroveAs a Pacific Grove resident, I wanted to write and commend you on your excellent management of the AFRP store. I am a 23-year local and I witnessed the store transformation from your Fountain Ave location to your current store location on Grand Ave.
The previous store was, to say it delicately, a bit messy. In the first few weeks in your new location I was able to snag a jewel of an antique that was underpriced. After a short time, however, Stephanie became manager and turned the hodgepodge store into a jewel of Pacific Grove.
Suddenly a dressing room was created, items were logically arranged, and there was (and is) a welcoming environment. What a transformation!
Kudos to Stephanie and her hard work at AFRP. I’m certain the animals are applauding, too.
