I hate to give him a good review because then everybody will go see him and I’m not gonna be able to get in myself to get an appointment. However, The people at canine Castle are totally awesome and I’m so glad that I found him and Lulu enjoys going for her grooming appointments

Family Pet Clinic of Redondo Beach
2006 Artesia Blvd, Redondo BeachThis vet is wonderful. Many friends who move away still take their pets here regardless of long commutes. I feel lucky this is in my neighborhood. Always able to find solutions to problems, listen to concerns, and if they aren’t open direct you to competent ERs. Highly recommend.

Redwood Animal Hospital
2702 Artesia Blvd, Redondo BeachBeyond great. My vet for decades retired, leaving no one in her place. Tried to find new vet, and was hugely disappointed with other local vet. BUT joy of joys, was referred by friend to Redwood & Dr Suyehara. I cannot express my gratitude for this care and expertise. They are all fabulous --just as my friend predicted and finally I am getting necessary help for my aging dogs. I LOVE this whole practice and am grateful every day to have this guidance to address my dogs' conditions. When your dogs are healthy, anyone can help to verify all is fine. But when they are struggling, getting such terrifically knowledgeable and caring guidance means the world.

Way Of The Dog
527 S Juanita Ave, Redondo BeachDog training that actually works (and without any treats)! I highly recommend Brian, particularly for anyone with a dog that's not responding to clicker training or tricks for treats. We adopted a 70 pound husky mix named Bear from a rescue last year, and he is a wonderful dog BUT we started having leash issues once he got comfortable with us. If I turned around on a walk to go home or if he saw a squirrel, Bear would sit and refuse to move. No amount of coaxing, treats, excitement, playing, etc., would get him to budge. I couldn't exactly carry him home either. It got to the point where I had to call my husband to come pick us up to get Bear home. Naturally, Bear started to refuse to get in the car too. After one session with Brian, the problems were fixed. In fact, Brian's tactics were so effective that I probably could have ended our sessions after the first visit; however, we enjoyed learning from him so much that we completed all five sessions with no regrets. And, I did learn a lot of additional things and felt that we were able to solidify and fine tune everything during those sessions. The only downside of completing Way of the Dog training is that we don't get to meet with Brian anymore. I cannot emphasize enough how effective and logical Brian's techniques are. He is like a dog psychologist. I had used clicker training and treats with our previous dog, but I realized that those tactics were not going to work with Bear. Brian was truly our last hope. Before you give up your dog for behavioral issues, give Way of the Dog a try. You won't regret it, and your dog will love you for it.

Dog's Best Friend
1501 Aviation Blvd, Redondo BeachI signed my Borzoi up for several classes here and had great results! We got him as an older puppy, so he didn't have the benefit of puppy kindergarten classes, but Rebecca was able to help get him up to speed. Before coming here we tried Zoom Room, but it was clicker based drill training which just doesn't work well for sighthounds who are very visual learners. Rebecca understands that all dogs have different learning styles and abilities and adjusted her curriculum accordingly so that he was able to succeed. I also love that she is strictly positive reinforcement; no pinch/shock collars here! My husband is a first-time dog owner and he learned so much from these classes. She creates a really supportive learning no-dumb-questions learning environment for both dogs and people. Years later we still use the "settle" training from her Pup About Town class when we go out to eat at restaurants and it works great. I get asked all the time by friends with dogs how I trained him and I always refer them to DBF!

Mychal's Café
2302 Artesia Blvd, Redondo BeachSerendipitously, I saw information about this place when I was randomly scrolling online.
The food was excellent. I ordered two items to go, the avocado toast and a breakfast burrito. (I should have taken pictures because the items were beautifully presented in addition to being delicious! ?)
Beautiful atmosphere. The decor is inviting. Very clean.
It fulfilled and then exceeded my expectations.

Jus' Poke
501 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo BeachIt looks like most of the poke here, with the exception of the California roll (imitation crab) and tofu poke, use the same type of fish. Everything is well seasoned and delicious. We ordered two regular portions and were quite full.
I ordered the Hawaiian chili flake & Spicy with white rice and Grandma's pickles. She went with the Shoyu and Spicy with Grandma's pickles and opted to for the seaweed salad. Be aware there is upcharge of you decide to opt out of rice.
The love to get into this place was about to minutes. The staff is friendly and fast. There is a small counter and some tables right outside to eat at but it seems like most people take it to go. They will start running out of choices so get there early.

Eat at Joe's
400 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo BeachThis place is nostalgic for me. I've been eating here since the 80s. The food is always perfect. Here are my favorites: Chicken Fried Steak, biscuits and gravy, turkey and avocado sandwich, Joe's Special. Honestly have not had anything that was not delicious. The staff is great some of which have been working there for over 30 years. The prices are pretty reasonable too. The coffee is always just right and they will even give you a to-go cup.

Tot Coffee
234 S Pacific Coast Hwy #102, Redondo BeachI absolutely love Tot Coffee. Their blueberry cream matcha with oat milk is my favorite drink. It started as a seasonal item but might be on their menu permanently now. My coworker loves the Blue’s Clues signature latte, which has blueberry purée, peppermint, milk, and espresso, and my other coworker switches between the pour-over coffee and cappuccino.
I also love their pastries, especially the spinach pastry, baguette with jam, croissant, and pain au chocolat. Everything we have tried has been delicious.
You can tell the owner is very mindful, which makes for a consistently pleasant experience every time we visit. The drinks don’t change depending on who makes them, and I find comfort in that consistency. I love the café’s minimal but mindful aesthetic. I could sit there all day to work, read, or meet with friends or clients.
The café has a mellow and inviting vibe. They also host the No Bounds Run Club, which is very inclusive for both slower runners like me and faster runners. There is a group that runs 2.5 miles and another that runs 4.5 miles. They meet every Saturday at 7 a.m., and afterwards you get a password for a discount at the coffee shop. You don’t need to sign up, you can just show up. I’m not a consistent runner, but the No Bounds Run Club has made me more consistent because I love the reward of a yummy drink after the run, and I love that someone will walk with me without judgment if I don’t feel like running the whole time.
I love that Tot Coffee is not just a coffee shop but also building a community.

Kirari West Bake Shop
707 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo BeachI have Celiac Disease and this bakery is 100 % gluten free. I was already so happy about that. Then when I ordered the turkey avocado panini on vegan bread, may I say: It was the BEST turkey sandwich I’ve ever had in my life!!!. I am back to NY and still craving that sandwich. If you live there , YOU are lucky, if you are visiting, go there couple to times to eat. I was there for a short time and wish I could have gone to this shop to eat more often. Just know they are not fully DF so if you are, ask for the vegan bread and it is delicious
