Way Of The Dog

Over four years of dog ownership, we worked with five different trainers (private trainers with glowing Yelp reviews, group classes like PetSmart, and more). No one even comes close to Brian. He is deeply knowledgeable, his approach is thoughtful, and he truly speaks dog. Brian has worked with an incredible range of dogs and behavior challenges, and it shows. No matter the question or concern, he always had clear, grounded guidance that made sense and actually helped.
Brian came highly recommended by our trusted vet, and finding him changed everything for our family. When our dog, Miko, turned 8 months old last summer, she suddenly began attacking her brother Rufus with no provocation (no food, no toys, no attention) and developed territorial behaviors at home. Up until that point, they were best friends, with Rufus patiently playing with her and teaching her dog manners. It was terrifying and heartbreaking, and at our lowest point, we even had to confront the possibility of re-homing Miko after losing our other dog, Luna, suddenly during her spay surgery last year. Since then, my husband and I have been training and exercising both dogs religiously, spending 3–5 hours a day between the two of us, and Brian was there every step of the way. He was endlessly encouraging and validating, especially on the hard days, helping us stay grounded and hopeful when things felt overwhelming.
What truly sets Brian apart is how much he genuinely cares and his extensive experience with dog training. He has always been incredibly generous with his time, offering phone consultations during training and even long after sessions ended. You never feel rushed, judged, or dismissed, just fully supported.
We’re beyond grateful to say that Miko has now hit 6 months with zero aggression, and the two of my dogs play together again both inside and outside of our home. If you’re struggling, losing hope, or just want someone who truly understands dogs in your corner, Brian is the real deal.

Dog's Best Friend
1501 Aviation Blvd, Redondo BeachI signed my Borzoi up for several classes here and had great results! We got him as an older puppy, so he didn't have the benefit of puppy kindergarten classes, but Rebecca was able to help get him up to speed. Before coming here we tried Zoom Room, but it was clicker based drill training which just doesn't work well for sighthounds who are very visual learners. Rebecca understands that all dogs have different learning styles and abilities and adjusted her curriculum accordingly so that he was able to succeed. I also love that she is strictly positive reinforcement; no pinch/shock collars here! My husband is a first-time dog owner and he learned so much from these classes. She creates a really supportive learning no-dumb-questions learning environment for both dogs and people. Years later we still use the "settle" training from her Pup About Town class when we go out to eat at restaurants and it works great. I get asked all the time by friends with dogs how I trained him and I always refer them to DBF!

Everything they make is amazing and I literally can’t choose a favorite drink!!!!

Our daughter had the kid's menu sandwich special (plain ham and cheese sub with chips and a water) and she wolfed it down. Staff were friendly and you could sit outside. Really hit the spot for a quick meal that satisfied.

Instead, you’re greeted by the sweet smell of honeysuckle vines on the pergola. Doesn’t try to be fancy or upscale to up prices—it’s authentic.
The fresh cilantro and tortillas made the meal. Had the la carte taco barbacoa ($5 ea) and the chicken enchiladas suizas. Both were excellent. Happy hour has half-off margaritas.

The food is always delicious at Panelas. I ordered the Parmegiano chicken plate which had a zesty and very flavorful tomato sauce with some cheese. It was accompanied by a green salad with a tasty brazillian dressing along with garlic white rice and french fries. I've also ordered the combo brazilian plate which has a little of everything. The Brazilian pot roast is exceptional. Panelas is located smack dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood with no other retail around except a few other businesses in the building, so, unless you've heard about this gem, likely you would not know bout it. Ordering is done at a counter and they bring the food to you. Service was great and the atmoshphere has an open, high ceiling feel to it. Always a treat to eat at Panelas.

1815 S Catalina Ave, Redondo BeachCame in for a hot latte. The size option was one size- 16 ounce. By the time I added a flavor and extra shot, I was at 10 for my latte. The latte art was perfect. The flavoring of She Wolf was the perfect touch of taste in the latte.
Cute store location, seating both in and outdoor. This is a great place if you are walking by or live local. Otherwise you are paying street parking and spots can be hard to get.
