“I had a kickback at the Social Club. There is an indoor bar, outside grilling. Purchase salmon, shrimp, hamburgers, hotdogs, oysters, charcoal, lighters from the bar to grill outside. Hawaiian Food truck had been on location. You can bring your dog and children. There is space to rent for private parties. It's an over all good time for friends and family. There are also rooms to rent. Real vintage feel.”

“Carter House is an amazing place. I travel a lot for business, and pleasure; I don't tend to write reviews. But I have to for Carter House. Don't be fooled by the outside, which looks a bit like the other 400 Victorians in town. Carter House is a gem and sets the bar for this town. Very relaxed, refund vibe. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed with quality towels, robes, and linens. A 'mini bar' of sorts holds local wine, caramels, and other goodies. Complimentary happy hour wine and beer; full spirit selection with some pretty special obscure picks behind the bar. The bar itself is a piece of art. Feels Hemingway at raffles in Singapore yet at the same time much more laid back. No one is rushing, no one is making any mistakes. The beds have been very comfortable. Both rooms I've had (201, and 301) have had fireplaces; 301 has a full size jacuzzi tube in an alcove discretely overlooking the area. It's so comfortable. It's not a 'trying hard to be comfortable' it just is. I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff are all amazing and truly care about your needs. I'm so glad I found this place. I can't wait to return!”

“We are on road trip with our 2 older children. We pulled into Eureka and found this Best Western, hoping they had availability. They did! The front desk greeter, James, was super polite, helpful, and positive, even though it was 9pm. The room was clean and functional. The continental breakfast was very good, and included something for everyone. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.”

“Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience everything this hotel has to offer due to vehicle troubles that put us four hours behind schedule. We checked in at 11 P.M. The hotel is beautiful! Our room was nice and comfortable for a one-night stay. I used the gym, which has a massage chair in it. They had a good variety of equipment.Complimentary breakfast had a pancake and waffle maker. Not much in the protein department for healthy options, but they at least had boiled eggs. There were lots of fruit, cereal, frozen breakfast sandwiches (Jimmy Dean) options. There is a hot tub also that looked awesome, but we had to get on the road. The only issue I had was the the key card didn't open the area you need to get to breakfast, the hot tub, and the gym. It opened the gym, but then when I tried to go back in after I ate, it stopped working and stopped working on my room. Luckily, the second key did work.Otherwise, nice quiet area of town and only a few minutes away from the Redwood Sky Walk at Sequoia Park Zoo.”

“The Lady Anne is our favorite place to stay in Northern California. The hosts, Sam and Sharon, are delightful people that make our stay such a great experience every time. The house is an authentic Victorian home, with every bit of the charm and history you’d expect and hope for. Morning breakfasts are fantastic and interesting conversation is always on the menu. If you’re staying in Arcata, The Lady Anne is something you must experience.Rooms: There are many rooms to choose from, each with their own personality and vibe.Walkability: The Lady Anne is just a few short blocks from the Arcata Plaza, Wildberries (the best grocery store in Arcata), restaurants etc and is a short walk/drive to Redwood Park. Perfect location for visiting Arcata.Food & drinks: The breakfast served is delightful, especially for kids. Tasty edible flowers from the house garden often accompany the meal, which is a lot of fun and inevitably leads to interesting conversation at the table!”

“Stayed here on a stopover along our trip. They are pet friendly, and have a pool which was perfect for the kids after a long drive. Rooms are clean, and the breakfast was great. What I really want to mention is the staff. They are so incredibly polite and kind and go out of their way for you. My son left his favourite stuffy there and they are going to ship it to us! They never made me feel like I was an inconvenience. I would stay here again just for that alone. Thank you!”

“Hotel Arcata is perfect for a quaint and clean stay. I would recommend it for anyone that doesn’t mind a little noise. You might consider ear plugs if you want to sleep through a weekend night. Overall, a charming and comfortable place.”

“Pet friendly hotel with a decent room. Hotel is in walking distance to things, but I would not recommend for women to walk solo at night. Thin blankets though.Rooms: Tight fit in a double bed room.”

“My wife and I had a pleasant stay at Clarion Hotel. Check in was easy, staff was friendly, room was clean and spacious enough, breakfast was abundant with choices, we LIKED the gated parking lot. Folks are complaining(offended?) about the cannabis shop across the way, but there weren’t any issues. Also, there weren’t that many homeless people around the hotel? My wife and I saw, like, two. Some of these reviews make the neighborhood sound like 1980’s South Bronx, but it was fine. Everything was fine. The gym is definitely small, outdated, and some of the equipment doesn’t work, but I made do. For a budget friendly hotel, I would definitely stay here again!”

“I have dealt with Manish many times and have never been disappointed. He goes to great lengths to ensure everything is top notch. I highly recommend Motel 6 Arcata to anyone planning to visit Humboldt .Safety: I have never had to worry about my things when staying here. On one occasion I accidently left my car unlocked overnight. No worries though! Everything was still there the next morning.”

“No weapons forward against me shall prosper ? Psalms 143:1-12 (KJV) Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant. “Ended up staying three nights after discovering this little gem. Every single employee we interacted with was nice as pie. The room was newer and clean clean. Good coffee. Granola bars for the road. Convenient to excellent restaurants and the beach. What more could you ask of a cheapy roadside motel?”

“I would stay away from this hotel. I booked through Priceline and due to COVID on last minute had to cancel my trip. I requested manager to cancel the reservation even it’s a week ahead. Manager declined to refund and cancel the reservation, not sure how these guys are running business. Stay away!!”

“Overall not a bad place to stay. Was here for work. The rooms are decent so are the beds. If you're not looking for anything fancy, I would recommend staying here. Also there's no pool or hot tub. Just an FYI, apparently they are too cheap to fix that ?”
