She is the BEST and our dogs LOVE her. Coco has extreme separation anxiety when apart from Bella and he is better there they do their best to accommodate him and relieve his stress. They are so kind and understanding. Not to mention both dogs come home looking fabulous and happy. Highly recommend this location.

She even gave me a discount to what their website was offering. Bonus: she spelled my name currently and didn't even ask! She had them ready and waiting for when I walked in the door like this! I usually order 10-11lbs. of dry cat food online and pickup in the store, since there's a discount for doing it that way. I also have an online subscription for a case of wet cat food shipped to my house every 6 weeks. Stores are clean and there's usually someone around if I ever do need help, but that's infrequent.

Fluff is an older boy, so having the same groomer each visit really helps keep his stress and anxiety down. Christian always does a wonderful job trimming his hair and nails, and getting him all gussied up. He’s incredibly patient and treats Fluff the way I do, like my baby.
At this point, Christian knows Fluff’s unique personality, which makes me feel comfortable leaving him at the salon for a few hours. It’s clear he takes pride in his work, and it truly shows in the quality of each groom. I highly recommend booking your next appointment here!

This sweet 7 year old was a very reactive pup at the vet and the care and concern the staff showed me at all of my appts. Everything was well explained, the staff went over and above to help me forgive out the best way to handle the finances, and our experience was wonderful overall. Zoey found a way to use her surgery suit as a Snuggie, and slipped out of it a few times, and even got to come to work with me and have a nap in the stuffies! But we survived the 2 weeks of rest! I called and the receptionist was so sweet to get me in same day. (It was for a drop off but I was totally fine with that because I knew my puppy needed the care asap) Once we arrived we were welcomed by some really sweet girls showing so much love to my baby. He didn't even care about me leaving him there lol he just walked on back there like he owned that place. Then I was called with the treatment plan by the doctor who explained everything so throughly and made me feel more at peace. We are now on meds and on the road to recovery thanks to Piedmont Hills Animal Hospital! They have now gained a new pet at their clinic! (Our previous vet we had been to only once and was not a fan- it was very outdated & dirty with blood stains on the lobby floor) and this hospital was sooo clean & modern!

Camden Pet Hospital: Hoge Jeremy DVM
4960 Camden Ave, San JoseThank You Camden Pet Hospital for saving my Fuzzy Son Toby Cat. I can't express how much I appreciate Dr J. deciding to say that Toby is too young and before his major health issues too healthy for him to be put down. Tuesday, Jan 30 was the start of Toby's recovery and I owe my gratitude and thanks to Dr J and the staff at Camden Pet Hospital. When I woke up on that Tuesday I saw that Toby was even more sick than the prior days and I called Camden Pet Hospital to make an appointment for them to see him. I thought this was to end his life, that I would have to have him euthanized. I didn't think that CHP could save Toby for an amount of money that I could afford. To my wonderful surprise when I met Dr. J and told her the situation, fairly quickly she said that Toby is too young and healthy to be put down. She came up with a treatment plan that I could afford, around $650 that would basically follow what the other vet companies said they would do, treat Toby for 3 days, for a much higher cost, over $3000. The only difference was that I would take Toby home each day at 5 PM and then return him the next day for additional treatment to cure his urinary blockage. As with the prior 2 days, they continued with his treatments until I came at 5 PM Thursday to pick Toby up at the end of his care at CPH, and bring him home. Dr J. said that his urinary blockage had been cleared and the problem with his liver was fixed. All we could do now was to keep an eye on him. Try to get him to continue to eat and drink water. They gave me some special cat food, both dry and wet food for him to eat. This food was a urinary care type of cat food, Hills Urinary Care cat food. All during the time of his illness, I was praying to GOD to help save my Fuzzy Son Toby. I was so afraid I was going to lose him and it was very difficult to hold it together. I was a mess. That night Toby slept with me as he always does and I had the strong belief that he was going to eventually fully recover. From the time I brought Toby home from CHP, he slowly and steadily regained his health. Each day, his recovery progressed. He started eating his cat food and drinking water. It was not a lot at first, but each day he ate and drank more. Also, he started using his cat box. In fact, I set up a separate cat box, food and water dishes in my room as Dr J suggested. More major positive changes happened. He started walking around the house again. He wasn't just staying in my room. At the end of the first week back home, he wanted to go outside again. The things that really showed me that he was getting better is he started acting like my Fuzzy Son again. He was purring often again, playing with his sister Sophie cat, and looking at me like the old Toby Cat, full of LOVE and LIFE! It's now been about 1 1/2 months since the start of this journey and I'm so HAPPY to say that Toby has FULLY RECOVERED! Of course, none of this would have happened if not for Dr J at CPH. Her decision to help Toby, her treatment plan and the care that she and the CHP staff gave Toby is the major reason why he recovered and is healthy again. THANK YOU DR. J AND EVERYONE AT CAMDEN PET HOSPITAL FOR SAVING TOBY'S LIFE.

While we have wonderful friends, we struggled to find someone who could not only handle the time commitment required to take care of our active golden retriever but also our two cats for more than 2 days. Out of desperation I turned to google and miraculously found Alex’s company. Her prices are reasonable, she is communicative, understanding, flexible and full of knowledge for pet care! She loved on our pets like her own, sent videos and pictures with each visit, and kept in touch multiple times a day. For us, this was a life saver and we were able to not only enjoy our trip away but RELAX knowing our babies were in good, safe and capable hands. Downtown Dogs – San Jose is hands down one of the best boarding experiences I’ve had in the area. I truly appreciate the level of care and oversight they provide—especially compared to other boarding facilities nearby.
The fact that this location has staff on site 24/7 makes a huge difference and gives real peace of mind. The team is attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly experienced with dogs of different temperaments. My dog is well cared for, monitored, and treated as an individual, not just another kennel.
I also really value their transportation service between locations. When my schedule is tight, being able to drop my dog off at Palo Alto and have her safely transported to San Jose for boarding has been incredibly helpful and seamlessly handled.
Overall, the San Jose team is fantastic. The care, consistency, and professionalism here truly stand out. I’m very grateful to have found a boarding facility I trust completely.

RFRD Academy
260 E Virginia St, San JoseWe recently picked up our puppy after her 35-day Board & Train program at RFRD Academy, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. This is actually our second dog to go through their program—the first was back in 2020—and the results have been just as impressive.
Both of our dogs came home more disciplined, more confident, and with a much better understanding of their commands. One thing I appreciate is that RFRD Academy sets realistic expectations. The training doesn't end when your dog comes home. It still takes consistency and follow-through from us as owners, but they give you the foundation and tools needed for long-term success.
We've also had our older dog on RFRD Academy's raw food for over six years, and people constantly comment on how young and healthy she looks. We truly believe her diet has played a big role in that.

2062 Delbarr Ct, San JoseWe adopted 3-year-old Duy in November 2022. He was wary of and reactive toward strangers. He was also known to nip when touched in a spot he wasn't fond of. The rescue said he was best suited to a nurturing adult-only home to patiently address and work through these issues. We've adopted rescues since 2003 and Duy was the first one who challenged us. He bit us several times in the first couple of months and we weren't sure if we were in over our heads. Our other dog, Benny, was also a bit skeptical of the new addition to our family.Sybl was recommended to us by our friend who works with rescues regularly. The initial phone call and in-person assessment provided much more information than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. We immediately hit it off with Sybl and signed up for the "Good Dog, Let's Go!" training plan. Over the course of 8 lessons, we learned about command training, proper use of tools/equipment (basket muzzle, slip collar, pinch collar, and leashes), and most importantly how to be his coach to guide him in his lessons. We've had dogs for most of our lives and it was eye-opening to learn how to hone in on our dogs' behaviors to better understand them and be better dog guardians. We appreciate Sybl's wealth of knowledge and accessibility when we had questions between sessions. Duy is much happier and more trusting, making so much progress since working with her. The tools, exercises, and resources she has provided will be beneficial for every dog we adopt going forward. We are so thankful for her!

760 Hillsdale Ave, San JoseMy wife, friends, and myself have trained our Akita at SCDTC for almost two years in conformation and rally. Ourselves and our dogs have trained and learned so much from both Diana and Dick. These two trainers were absolutely fantastic! We also observe the other training classes going around us. All the SCDTC trainers are top notch and the dogs and their owners both benefit big time! Sorry to say... but the owners need more training than the dogs ;)

We came in for a casual bite and ended up having nachos so good they should honestly be illegal. The chips were perfectly crisp, the toppings were layered like someone actually cared (because they clearly do), and every bite had that chef’s‑kiss balance of flavor that makes you pause mid‑conversation just to appreciate what’s happening in your mouth.

The spicy fish hot pot was the highlight for me because the fish stayed soft and flaky while the broth had just the right mix of heat and that signature numbing Sichuan flavor. We also ordered the garlic green beans, which were cooked perfectly and made a great side. I'd gladly order all of it again.

Great selection of pastries and aesthetic ambience.
The only down side I've found, so far 2/3 times I've got espresso its been under extracted (sharp sour tasting). Which should be fine for most people, as it is only desernable in espresso or espresso forward drinks (up to cappuccino).

Ordered the Mapo Tofu Rice Set, with side dishes, Pan-fried Plant Based Chop Set, Avocado Rolls, I got the Happiness Over Rice - it was sweet and totally devoured it! I also ordered the Avocado smoothie, one of my favorites sometimes other places make it too watery. This one was fluffy and very tasty! For dessert we shared the Chocolate Tiramisú. 5251 Camden Ave, San JoseSo grateful to have the experience to try this little tucked away pizza shop that I never knew existed! The staff were so kind and generous about ensuring my pizza was super hot and fresh. They even brought it out to my car.
Ordered the pizza in advance and added garlic bread and Mexican Coke. When I took it home, the family *devoured* the food immediately. I didn't even get a proper photo! But it spoke to how delicious the pizza was. Definitely coming back!

This place is exactly how I remember the first time I visited back in the mid 90’s. Nice to have original places still around and preserved. Great comfortable outdoor patio too!

2200 Eastridge Loop STE 1076, San JoseI haven't visited yet when it's open, I'm just noting that Google maps is wrong about the location - it is NOT in the same spot as Daniel's jewelry on the corner of the central plaza, it's farther in along that walkway, next door to Victoria's Secret and across from Jenn Plus. I went in to ask at the jewelry store and the staff said a lot of people came in to ask about Mini Cat Town ? so someone needs to update the location in Google maps....
