171 Branham Ln, San JoseHow I came to know about San Jose Bengal Cats and Rene was at the Campbell farmer's market where someone had a cat in their backpack. I reached out asking so many questions earlier this year but the timing just wasn't right. Rene actually reached out to me because he knew I was looking for one without spots. Naturally, I asked for a photo and just HAD to go meet her. Rene is very patient and cares deeply for these cats. You can see his engagement with these babies and how much he cares for them.
The day he reached out, I was able to visit the cattery and that was the beginning of the end. You're able to hold the kitty with a deposit until when you're ready to bring them home. They come with the basic vaccines, a week worth of wet and dry food, and he will send pedigree papers once they're spayed/neutered. We love our dear girl and hope others will be able to find great homes! As he said, we're now family.

4954 Almaden Expy #10, San JoseOur usual groomer, Alice, no longer works here so we decided to give another groomer at this location a chance. We asked for a groomer who would be patient, gentle and kind with our anxious dog. They set us up with Mary who was amazing! She is so sweet to our goldendoodle and really cares about getting the cut you want for your dog. We have gone to her three times now and our dog , Sasha, always looks great when we pick her up. We have many people at the dog park asking where we go to get her grooming done and even get compliments a month after her cut. It grows out so well! We highly recommend Mary. The whole experience from booking the appointment online to the check in was easy. They require proof of Rabies vaccination which you can send via text , super simple. Elena took the time to understand how we wanted Biscuit's haircut to be , including the length & overall look we were going for. In 2.5 hours , Biscuit was ready!! The Lush groom Biscuit had today was great. He looked like a million bucks & so happy. Elena let us know how Biscuit did which was also nice. Elena is awesome & so is the front staff. 6055 Meridian Ave #120, San JoseWe have an adorable 6-month-old cocker who is nervous at groomers. It is reasonable and expected -he is only a puppy! We took him to Dang Diggity Dog organic pet grooming because they have a special pappy grooming introduction package. We waited 10 days for an appointment. They called us 2 hours after dropping him off, saying he doesn't like grooming. "Not in an aggressive way, he just wants to play with the clipper. " What!!! They recommended sedation. Then we went to Pet Smart and they said they do not spend extra time with puppies - or try. In other words, they don't have time to deal with puppies. Finally, I went to Almaden Per Salon. The owner listened to my concerns and said to bring him in the next day without sedation. The session was done in 4 hours and Duke came back home with a new haircut and groomed just like we wanted. I am so happy. Highly recommended. The care was tailored to a "ball of energy". =)

As an anxious dog mom, I’ve always felt so reassured by Dr. Zacher, Ellen, and Adam. They’ve been amazing at keeping us in the loop—letting us know when Benji is next in line for his procedure, how everything’s going, and just making sure we never feel in the dark. That level of communication has meant so much to me.
We’ve been coming here for about four years now, ever since our vet in Oakland recommended them. And yes—we wake up at 6 a.m. just to make it to San Jose by 7, and it’s totally worth it. The care, the kindness, and the trust we feel here keep us coming back.

Camden Pet Hospital: Hoge Jeremy DVM
4960 Camden Ave, San JoseThank You Camden Pet Hospital for saving my Fuzzy Son Toby Cat. I can't express how much I appreciate Dr J. deciding to say that Toby is too young and before his major health issues too healthy for him to be put down. Tuesday, Jan 30 was the start of Toby's recovery and I owe my gratitude and thanks to Dr J and the staff at Camden Pet Hospital. When I woke up on that Tuesday I saw that Toby was even more sick than the prior days and I called Camden Pet Hospital to make an appointment for them to see him. I thought this was to end his life, that I would have to have him euthanized. I didn't think that CHP could save Toby for an amount of money that I could afford. To my wonderful surprise when I met Dr. J and told her the situation, fairly quickly she said that Toby is too young and healthy to be put down. She came up with a treatment plan that I could afford, around $650 that would basically follow what the other vet companies said they would do, treat Toby for 3 days, for a much higher cost, over $3000. The only difference was that I would take Toby home each day at 5 PM and then return him the next day for additional treatment to cure his urinary blockage. As with the prior 2 days, they continued with his treatments until I came at 5 PM Thursday to pick Toby up at the end of his care at CPH, and bring him home. Dr J. said that his urinary blockage had been cleared and the problem with his liver was fixed. All we could do now was to keep an eye on him. Try to get him to continue to eat and drink water. They gave me some special cat food, both dry and wet food for him to eat. This food was a urinary care type of cat food, Hills Urinary Care cat food. All during the time of his illness, I was praying to GOD to help save my Fuzzy Son Toby. I was so afraid I was going to lose him and it was very difficult to hold it together. I was a mess. That night Toby slept with me as he always does and I had the strong belief that he was going to eventually fully recover. From the time I brought Toby home from CHP, he slowly and steadily regained his health. Each day, his recovery progressed. He started eating his cat food and drinking water. It was not a lot at first, but each day he ate and drank more. Also, he started using his cat box. In fact, I set up a separate cat box, food and water dishes in my room as Dr J suggested. More major positive changes happened. He started walking around the house again. He wasn't just staying in my room. At the end of the first week back home, he wanted to go outside again. The things that really showed me that he was getting better is he started acting like my Fuzzy Son again. He was purring often again, playing with his sister Sophie cat, and looking at me like the old Toby Cat, full of LOVE and LIFE! It's now been about 1 1/2 months since the start of this journey and I'm so HAPPY to say that Toby has FULLY RECOVERED! Of course, none of this would have happened if not for Dr J at CPH. Her decision to help Toby, her treatment plan and the care that she and the CHP staff gave Toby is the major reason why he recovered and is healthy again. THANK YOU DR. J AND EVERYONE AT CAMDEN PET HOSPITAL FOR SAVING TOBY'S LIFE.

It's not "affordable" care, it costs the same as any other vet. 50$- Exam fee, 130$ for each X-ray view ( depending on the condition of your pet they might need multiple views), 130$ for blood work, 15-30$ for med( Depends on their needs.) There was no up-selling, only suggestions, gave you the opportunity to decline before you pay. I would have given it 5 stars but, I don't think it was very affordable as advertised but, due to inflation it's expected. Sadly, that's how it is everywhere. Do expect great care and compassion for your pet. You will be seen at least by two to three techs before the doctor and no, you don't wait an hour for a private room. Yes, bring your pets on leashes, Carrier, etc, Because it's cats and dogs in the same room.

VCA Almaden Valley Animal Hospital

I will preface this by saying that I’m sure the doctors and technicians here have adequate medical knowledge and would not do anything that jeopardizes the health of the animal. However, over the past three months, I have experienced worsening communication and disingenuous business practices that has left me wary of their customer service.
I actually had a good experience the first few times I came to this location, but during a follow up for my cat’s fracture, there was a miscommunication where the doctor ordered an x ray and interpretation that left me with a $600+ bill that I was not given an estimate for. I did pay the full amount. While I verbally approved of the procedure, I felt mislead by the omission in price.
I discussed the situation to the manager and she gracious offered me a $200 future discount on my cat’s next set of x-rays. I accepted and thought that was extremely kind. The manager explained that the credit was reflected in my account and I left.
In the following appointments, I asked about the results of the radiology interpretation, only to find out (only after asking three separate staff members, who all initially gave differing answers as to if it was available) that it was cancelled and never performed. At no point during the credit process did the manager or doctor tell me they were cancelling this procedure.
This was a line item that cost almost $150, which I paid for in full. The “future discount” the manager claimed to be giving me was just the cost of the procedure and a separate ~$50 courtesy discount. In essence, I prepaid over a hundred dollars, under the guise that I was graciously getting compensation from the manager.
I have no qualms with actually paying for what I receive. I believe the appropriate response would have been to fully reverse the original transaction (of the x ray and interpretation) and charge a new transaction for just the xray which already occurred and must be paid for. Alternatively, if it is impossible for VCA to refund a transaction, the staff at this location could’ve just been more honest with me that they could only offer a refund via “store credit.”
By claiming I was getting a courtesy discount, this location misled me and I now find it difficult to trust the staff and doctors at this VCA. I now have very little faith in this location to be honest and communicative with me.
If you choose to bring your pet to this location, I recommend always asking exactly what they will be charging you for, the purpose of each procedure, and getting a clear understanding of when those results will be communicated to you. My recent experience is that they will not be proactive and helpful when communicating and are more than happy to take your money without educating you about what they actually do for your pet.

He is a lab mix and it was exhausting trying to reel him in all the time. Fortunately, Dieuwke had the expertise and patience to work with us! Now a little over a year old, Chase is finally calm and listening to me even around distractions. He made significant progress on the obstacles and we had a lot of fun bonding while working through the course, but most importantly, the improvement in Chase’s behavior has been night and day. I am so grateful that I signed him up for agility classes (we have done both beginner and intermediate) at Orion Dog Training and plan to sign Chase up for more classes in the future! He’s one happy, tired pup after every class!

Initially, we were concerned about her adjustment, but after her first daycare visit, she loved it! It was such a relief to see our timid girl so eager and happy to go back.

The atmosphere is so welcoming that it feels like we are dropping her off at a friend's or family member's house. We have complete trust in their care for our baby girl. 2062 Delbarr Ct, San JoseWe adopted 3-year-old Duy in November 2022. He was wary of and reactive toward strangers. He was also known to nip when touched in a spot he wasn't fond of. The rescue said he was best suited to a nurturing adult-only home to patiently address and work through these issues. We've adopted rescues since 2003 and Duy was the first one who challenged us. He bit us several times in the first couple of months and we weren't sure if we were in over our heads. Our other dog, Benny, was also a bit skeptical of the new addition to our family.Sybl was recommended to us by our friend who works with rescues regularly. The initial phone call and in-person assessment provided much more information than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. We immediately hit it off with Sybl and signed up for the "Good Dog, Let's Go!" training plan. Over the course of 8 lessons, we learned about command training, proper use of tools/equipment (basket muzzle, slip collar, pinch collar, and leashes), and most importantly how to be his coach to guide him in his lessons. We've had dogs for most of our lives and it was eye-opening to learn how to hone in on our dogs' behaviors to better understand them and be better dog guardians. We appreciate Sybl's wealth of knowledge and accessibility when we had questions between sessions. Duy is much happier and more trusting, making so much progress since working with her. The tools, exercises, and resources she has provided will be beneficial for every dog we adopt going forward. We are so thankful for her!

While we have wonderful friends, we struggled to find someone who could not only handle the time commitment required to take care of our active golden retriever but also our two cats for more than 2 days. Out of desperation I turned to google and miraculously found Alex’s company. Her prices are reasonable, she is communicative, understanding, flexible and full of knowledge for pet care! She loved on our pets like her own, sent videos and pictures with each visit, and kept in touch multiple times a day. For us, this was a life saver and we were able to not only enjoy our trip away but RELAX knowing our babies were in good, safe and capable hands. We will most definitely continue to ask Alex to watch our pets and have already recommended her to our other pet parent friends. Thank you Alex for taking such good care of our babies!

1269 E Santa Clara St, San JoseRFRD Academy is a great place to take our puppers, i have my boy Max whos 3yrs old and everytime he goes with RFRD academy, he comes back bathed, cleaned and happy. I like the fact that they send updates of him and walk him around town, which is great because he gets his excercise. Also, i love the fact that they have the entire Kennel space Cool and Air Conditioned making it super comfortable for our Boy Max! 5 stars out of 5 for RFRD Family! thank you!!!

They serve very few items but they're VERY GOOD. I'm from Mumbai and their vada pav is the PROPER vada pav! Complete with all the chutneys, the fried chilli & the fried boondi. I like their Dabeli and their pav bhaji. Their pav is the proper pav, not the lazy hamburger buns/dinner rolls that other places use.

These folks do something magical with cheese, bread, and salt - when it's hot, it's freaking AMAZING. This is not Neapolitan style thin crust. This is not NYC big slice pie. This is something wholly unique - puffy crust, salty cheese, absolutely delish! We love their plain cheese. We love their pepperoni. We love their massively complex Greek Feta with a million veggies and Feta, and we add pepperoni to it. Check out coupons. Get friendly with their staff -- Ali has been taking care of us for literally over a decade -- and get ready for some great pizza. Did I mention their salads? EPIC! Wings? FANTASTIC! The spot usually has their doors open and has large windows so there is plenty of sunlight and fresh air. It is also very clean. They have a menu on the wall, but you can also order online. They sell some pastries and sometimes have a pop-up pastry stall inside. The drinks can take some time for them to make, so be prepared for the wait. They had so many options that the first time I came I ordered the peach tea and the black sesame latte. The peach tea was delicious but extremely sweet. If there's a way to tone that sweetness down, I would get it again. On my second visit I only got the black sesame coffee, since I enjoyed it so much the first time. This spot has become a regular stop whenever I'm in the area.

I went in to ask at the jewelry store and the staff said a lot of people came in to ask about Mini Cat Town ? so someone needs to update the location in Google maps....
