Pet Grooming

Pet Parlor (formerly Heidi's Dog Grooming)
2423 Old Middlefield Way, Mountain ViewAmazingl I take my very traumatized rescue and our long time senior dog, and Toni is gentle, nurturing, and the dogs return home happy (NOT my experience with other groomers). My grooming averse dog (now passed) used to jump up on her leg and kiss her on the way out. I take my dogs with confidence, knowing they will be loved up and handled with care and respect.

Country Pet Wash
1764 Miramonte Ave Unit B, Mountain ViewMy little doggie has been looking AMAZING ever since I started bringing him to Amanda. She is truly the best groomer I’ve had in years. After struggling with so many bad grooming experiences (and even trying to do it myself… which did not go well!), finding Amanda has been the best thing that’s happened to us. If you want your pup to look their absolute most handsome, just go to Amanda. She’s a gem!

Citydog! Club
1980 W El Camino Real suite b, Mountain ViewWe have a Maltipoo whose fur requires a lot of maintenance, and they really do a great job here. We also love that they have an open-window grooming room — it gives us a lot of confidence that our baby is being treated well at all times.
We previously had an experience with another grooming salon where the result looked great visually, but our dog seemed depressed for 2–3 days afterward, which made us feel that something may have been wrong there.
Here, not only does he look amazing after grooming, but the cut also stays nice even 4 weeks later which is quite an achievement.

Pet Care

MedVet Mountain View
601 Showers Drive, Mountain ViewOne of the only sites in my area able to provide immediate care to pets. Everytime I've had an emergency with my cat, I could always rely on MedVet. Very friendly and professional staff and while treatment times can take awhile it's because they prioritize who needs care the most. Can't recommend this vet enough if ever there's an emergency.

Pathways To Healing Animal
350 Franklin St, Mountain ViewDr Lina is amazing. She is extremely empathetic and very skilled Vet and great at what she does. Also she answers all your questions and a great conversationIist. With deep sadness our 15 1/2 year warrior dog passed recently, but her accupuncture did wonders on getting him better, his mobility improved and started to slowly walk without a sling and on leesh. If he was younger and we tried alternate treatments earlier maybe the outcome would have been different, that being said our lovely angel lived a full life and we are eternally blessed. For getting him better and him passing on a good day rather than a bad day, we are extremely thankful and grateful to Dr. Lina . If your dog has mobility and neurological issues, alternate treatments as additional modalities do work such as accupuncture as well as reducing pain. I was a sceptic at first but I know this first hand to be true. I am not saying get rid of your Primary vet, we did not but the addition of accupuncture definitely helps noticebly. For a vet who preforms accupuncture she is definitely the one to go to. Thank you Dr. Lina, I will now schedule an acupuncturist for myself as you recommended. Wish you the best in 2024 and on your runs.

Pet Sitting & Training

The Pup School
333 Escuela Ave #212, Mountain ViewWe cannot recommend Dan enough. He's the best they come. He teaches *us* how to train our dog rather than focusing on directly training our dog himself, which is 100x more effective because we're with our pup every day, and Dan isn't (though we wish he could be!). Dan is incredibly effective, supportive, knowledgeable, and generous. We referred him to a friend who also only had glowingly positive things to say. Thank you Dan!!!! So glad to be working with you.

The Midwife and the Baker
846 Independence Ave, Mountain View? Exceptional Pastries and World-Class Croissants
This bakery is a standout destination for anyone who appreciates the art of traditional baking. It is great to find a place that focuses so heavily on the technical details of their dough. The signature croissant lives up to the hype and serves as a true reward for anyone making the trip. It features beautiful lamination with a crisp, shatter-on-impact exterior and a soft, airy honeycomb interior. It is easily one of the best examples of the craft you can find, balancing a rich butter flavor with a delicate texture.
? Consistent Quality Across the Board
While the croissants might be the most famous item, the entire selection is executed with a high level of expertise.
Artisanal Breads: Every loaf is a testament to quality baking. All the pastries and bread is good, featuring a great crust and a deep, complex flavor that only comes from long fermentation and high-quality grains.
Pastry Variety: From seasonal fruit tarts to savory options, the variety is impressive. Each item feels purposeful and freshly made, ensuring that no matter what you pick from the case, it will be a high-quality experience.
Ingredient Focused: You can taste the quality of the flour and butter in every bite. It’s clear they don't take shortcuts, which is why the bread maintains such a great texture even a day or two after purchase.
? The Experience and Atmosphere
The bakery has a focused, production-oriented vibe that highlights their dedication to the craft.
The Scent: As soon as you get near the building, the aroma of fresh yeast and toasted flour is incredible. It sets the stage for the high-quality items you're about to enjoy.
Craftsmanship on Display: This isn't just a standard neighborhood shop; it feels like a professional laboratory for bread. Watching the scale of their operations makes you appreciate the consistency they manage to achieve.
Local Staple: It has quickly become a must-visit for locals and bread enthusiasts alike, often drawing a crowd of people who recognize the superior quality of their sourdough and laminated doughs.
✨ Final Thoughts and Recap
To recap, this is an awesome place that delivers a 5-star experience for any carb lover. The croissant lives up to the hype, and the fact that all the pastries and bread is good makes it a reliable spot for a weekly haul. If you are looking for authentic, artisanal baking that prioritizes flavor and technique above all else, I highly recommend making a stop here. It is a fantastic example of what happens when a bakery focuses on doing the fundamentals perfectly!

Dana Street Roasting Company
744 W Dana St, Mountain ViewThe atmosphere here is a vibe. Old coffee machines laying around. A stage with an old, faded carpet laying across a stage reminiscent of performances and a good time. There’s one man working the shop and so you know he will take some time but your drink will be delivered, delicious and thoughtfully.
I got a mint mocha blended and a hot latte with a double in it. Someone payed it forward and it was such a nice surprise. Thank you to this person. It really made our day. We will be back to continue this lovely thing you started.
Lastly, the prices here are reasonable. Between $5-$10 for a good cup of joe with an unbeatable environment and kind community.

Good portions, fair pricing and very flavorful.
As we couldn't decide, luckily we had a patient & very nice male server, sorry I didn't remember his name. Explained and gave good recommendations.
Outdoor dining at entrance and the larger patio on the rear side of the restaurant, great for group events.
Love to dine here again on our next visit to the Palo Alto area.

Village Green Dog Park
555 San Antonio Rd, Mountain ViewWent to try a new dog park . This one is different from most other parks. It's located in a parking lot between a shopping mall and a apartment complex. It's actually quite large. It's also a single use park, not separated by large and small. Water was available, and waste cans. It has artificial turf. Not really a big fan of turf,it can become smelly if not washed down. My dogs had a good time playing with both the big and small dogs. Not sure how I would feel about coming here during the summer,no shade and plastic turf. But it's fine during the morning.
