442 Slo San Simeon Rd, San SimeonI'd say a solid 3.5. Located right next to the Hearst Ranch Winery, this spot is more pick up and go sandwiches and salads only, or dine outside in to-go boxes. There's a small gift shop inside. Order at the counter and get buzzed to pick up your items. We tried the Burger with chips - well done only, no options Tri-tip bbq sandwich California sandwich Burrata salad Kale salad Frose (there's also a wine slush) that must be finished on the patio - no to go I thought everything was ok only. I think people come here as a pit stop to the winery or Hearst Castle out of convenience. Not sure I'll be back.

Cavalier Coastal Kitchen
9415 Hearst Dr, San SimeonSince we were staying at the Resort attached to this restaurant we decided to check it out. Being vegan we didn't think we'd have many choices, but they did have some vegan options and then you were able to customize things to make them vegan. I ordered the spinach salad with an impossible burger patty and it was so good. I actually was surprised. Our waiter Daniel was attentive and got all 4 of our vegan orders right. As a vegan eating at a non-vegan establishment we are always asking questions and not expecting much, but this place exceeded expectations. Thanks Daniel for being quick and attentive. We will definitely come back to eat here when we are in the area.
