“The Vans store on 3rd Street Promenade is really off the wall — pun intended. Whether you’re after a classic pair of checkerboards, skate shoes, or just a dose of California skate culture, this spot delivers.

The store is spacious, well organized, and carries a good mix of classics and newer releases. Staff are friendly and let you browse without hovering, which is appreciated when you’re debating whether you really need another pair of Vans (you probably do).

It’s also a nice reminder that 3rd Street Promenade still has some of its original California character tucked between the bigger retail names.

Pro tip: Check the back and clearance sections before heading to the register — finding a pair you like and on sale is the retail equivalent of landing a kickflip”

“I don’t usually post reviews but I had such a great experience here. Jane and Marilyn were so sweet to me - and Jane has a fantastic eye. I came in looking for a quarter zip and left with a bunch of fun sweaters, a button down that doesn’t gape over my tatas (!!!!!), a knit jacket, and a unique purse that I can’t wait to use everyday. And I got to pet Ollie! Who is adorable and a wonderful little doggo. Just a warm, affirming, and comfortable experience - thanks, Jane and Marilyn!”

“The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the limited selection of sizes that are wide, out of the control of staff. However, service is just wonderful and the manager, Julie, gave work arounds to deal with the lack of wide size. How good is she? I had to come back the next day because one of the shoes had expanded and I was flopping a bit in it. She not only recognized me in spite of constant turnovers of customers in the store, but she told the staff who was helping me to try a tie shoe (the problem shoe was a slip on that could not be adjusted), and she reminded me that I need a shoe with the flexible arch support. How could she remember me and that when I didn’t even remember what I needed!?The fellow helping me had brought in multiple shoes for me to try (he was a great sport), none of which fit adequately, until with Julie’s recommendations the next pair he brought out fitted perfectly. There was a buy a pair and get another pair at 30% off sale going on and I had bought a pair of sandals. I had much better luck with the sandals, also with flexible arch. They are adorable and there is a very good selection of sandal available now. I bought a leopard patterned sandal with the band across the top secured with a tough velcro so that I can loosen or tighten as needed during the day. Everyone was very sweet in spite of there being many customers to attend to, and the refund/adjustment went quickly and smoothly. GREAT shopping experience! Thank you Julie and your terrific staff!!!”

“I have to admit: I live in LA for 14 years, and never heard about this store.I am visiting the Santa Monica area once in 2-3 months, specially the 3rd St. promenade, but didn't notice this store.Last week I had a guest from the UK, and she was the one who noticed the store, while we were there on Saturday. Apparently, she is familiar with their clothes, and love them from London.The moment we entered the store, we were greeted by Chris with a very warm welcoming. He helped my friend, and 2 other customers at the same time, with the BEST customer service I have ever seen. He was so kind, happy, nice , helpful, with an exact eye for sizes and designs. He new in a minute which size my friend needs, and the same for the other 2 customers. "juggling" between all the 3 of them, bringing them everything they wanted, suggested new items (in the exact size), helping all of us checking out , and all of that, with a big smile and a warm heart. What an amazing experience!My friend ended up buying a few items, and so did the other 2.Because he told us he is the manager in Pacific Palisades, we drove there on Monday :-) to check the store over there, before my friend headed back to London.I must say - every business owner who has such a loyal employee, is blessed.Chris is definitely working in the store like it was his.Thank you Chris. “On a recent visit to to the west coast, I decided to stop by Berry Lee for a pair of canvas sneakers with arch support. I remembered stopping by years ago and the owners were helpful, so it was the first store I thought of. The owners were just as nice as back then and helped me find the perfect pair of shoes and as I had researched the brand beforehand, the price was fair. My friend also bought a pair of sandals which she said were very comfortable and she wears often. The store may be a little cluttered, but the owners are great at finding what you need.”

“I love to shop and I really dig Ruti. The clothing is contemporary quality. The fabrics are incredible. They focus on machine washable! Yes! And their clothes are catered to those who travel so think limited wrinkle fabrics. They have tons of amazing basics, quality knits and also some dresses. I have a gorgeous, black lace casual dress from them and also work slacks. Great, broad range of selections. Try things on though - the hanger appeal is not always there but when you put on the pieces, it's when it starts to work and you see and experts flattery magic. They also design for layers which in SoCal is key. I love their cuts and quality. They also have seasonal colors. I highly recommend this designer. Their sales people are very attentive and helpful. I always am impressed by their attentiveness.”

“I've shopped the brand online and in store for several years, I love it :) Amazing the staff hasn't changed much over the years which speaks volumes about a brand in the retail world. I always find the staff helpful and can count on all of them for honest fit advice. They also help in finding items that are sold out in store, ALWAYS. I think sometimes people have bad days and that store gets bananas over the weekend so good to have patience... it's only clothes after all.”

“We had a great visit to Foot Locker! The store had a nice atmosphere, and we found some awesome blue Jordan shorts that I absolutely love. The quality is great, and they look even better in person.

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our visit, which made the experience even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the shorts were on sale, making the purchase an even better deal.

“I’ve been shopping at JD Sports for a while, and one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is Kareem. He went above and beyond to help me—not only picking out great clothes, but also getting me into an open fitting room and giving me his honest opinion on everything I tried on. That’s rare these days. It’s one thing to have someone sell you clothes, but it’s another to have someone genuinely help you look your best.

Kareem is authentic, knowledgeable, and makes the entire shopping experience enjoyable. His customer service is a big reason I ended up spending as much as I did, and I left feeling confident in everything I purchased.
