11448 Deerfield Dr C-1, TruckeeHad a little trouble getting scheduled but worked out. April had other dogs in the shop to hang out with my dog while she was groomed. Both April and her male assistant were wonderful. I needed a new groomer and this will be it. My dog looks great!

9701 CA-267, TruckeeWe've used the Veterinary Hospital on a couple of occasions during when we've done extended dog sitting for our son's dog Arthur, a sweet Pocket American Bully. While the reasons for bringing him in weren't more serious than a mid-level ear infection, I appreciated their attentiveness and gentle handling of Arthur who both times came out of the examining and treatment room happy, wagging his tail vigorously.

10009 W River St Ste B, TruckeeI found this coffee shop as a suggestion on Google Maps on my way to Reno. I am so glad I stopped. The coffee shop is on the back side of the building if you drive down W River.
The barista recommended the French Toast Latte and it was a perfect combo of espresso flavors muted by the sweetness of the syrups used in the drink. I would recommend stopping by and supporting this local coffee shop.

You can sit indoors with AC or outside on the patio under umbrellas.
Parking: Plenty of free parking in the airport complex.
Ambience: Casual and laid-back. Order and pay first at the counter, then find a seat.
Recommended: Their tacos with different filling options like chicken tikka masala, adana pork, and vegetables.
I’d describe the food as fusion, blending Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, and California flavors. You’ll find ingredients like naan, hummus, labneh, slaw, and tikka masala all on the menu.
Service: Fast and efficient. After you order, they’ll give you a table number and bring your food to your table. Water, utensils, and returning your empty plates are all self-serve.

Excellent food and service in a relaxed, informal setting. The ladies at the counter were friendly and helpful. We both had hot sandwiches which were meaty and substantial. This might be a mandatory stop when we travel though Truckee.

10061 S River St, TruckeeWe visited a few years ago, in 2018 and bought several bottles of Red Barn Red. Tonight 2/15/2025, I opened our last bottle. It held its color and flavor. We are really enjoying this lovely wine. I think it's time to visit Truckee, again. Cheers!

So while the bar was mostly filled with World Cup fans, the rest of the indoor area was pretty full as was the outdoor seating (great this time of year), but even with all those people the staff was attentive and the food came respectably quick. Between our table salads (large), pizzas, mac-n-cheese, appetizers, and even the wife's 'beverage' were all well made and tasty!

10080 Donner Pass Rd, TruckeeStopped in Truckee to see the Donner Museum on our way farther west and had breakfast here. Amazing food and more than reasonable prices (we got the early bird special, half off breakfast - under $40 for three large meals and coffee).
The sourdough toast with homemade blackberry jam was AMAZING. Only regret is they don't sell it by the jar.

...and they actually know how to make malty beers, which is often a hard thing to find on the West Coast, where even when a brewery tries to make a continental style beer (like a Helles or Pils), they make it too hoppy. But not Alibi. I had several malty beers and loved them all.
And for our hoppy friends, they do those well too.
We stopped in for a break from the Thursday night market and enjoy a few beers and a couple of excellent appetizers.
Finally, the staff was super friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be back!

Squeeze In Breakfast & Lunch
10060 Donner Pass Rd B, TruckeeCame here with 4 hungry people. We ordered two strawberry cream cheese french toast plates and the Garth breakfast sandwich. All were amazing!!! Only downfall of the visit was our waiter never came to check on us or ask for drinks refills. He was busy talking to another customer at the front of cafe for a really long time. Had to ask someone else for the check. Hard to tip well when the service didn't match. Food was excellent though, we will come back
