A Purrfect Groomer
1016 Jefferson Blvd, West SacramentoNeed your cat groomed? DON'T LOOK ANY FURTHER!!!!! CALL THESE GUYS! SERIOUSLY! CALL THEM!!!! My adult son passed away and left his rescue senior cat, Sophia. They bonded pretty tight (LONG story behind that). Let's just say - the cat was fiercely loyal to my son! My debilitating grief made it too difficult to work w/my little dog and her to tolerate one another. We thought we found her a good home but they returned her after nine months. I am glad they gave her back rather than giving her to a shelter. However, she came back super matted and claws that were in dire need of a clipping. I requested app online, PURRFECT GROOMERS IMMEDIATELY TEXT ME WITH APP THE FOLLOWING WEEK! Friday - they text me to let me know they were 30 min out and to get her into carrier. Despite working with her for 7 days to get her use to carrier - I ended up having to wrap her in towel and shove her in a poorly designed soft shell carrier I use for my little dog. I never experienced a cat so hard to get in a carrier. It's probably because she has been rehomed five times in the last three years! She was so stressed out! I was crying because I had to do this to my son's loyal friend!!! Alex was super nice and made me feel understood and calmed me down! He also had a way of calming the cat! They ended up having to shave her - despite the semi bald cat - she looks way cute. THE PROCESS TOOK ABOUT 15 MINUTES! She went into the closet to hide while I paid. But came back out immediatly to eat. She didn't seem pissed off at me either. To top it off - she finally started grooming herself again! I am sure she didn't before because the matting made it hard to move. I thought she would be hiding for days. I couldn't be more grateful for their GENTLENESS with her and ABILITY TO CALM DOWN A FREAKED OUT CAT and a freaked out me! I am so glad I found these people! If you have a cat that needs groomed - call them! Call ONLY THEM! BTW- The cat will stay with us and we are determined to spoil her rotten! Her and the dog are learning to tolerate each other's existence. PURRFECT GROOMERS LIVE UP TO THEIR NAME!!!

Pet Care

VCA Westside Animal Hospital
3160 Jefferson Blvd, West SacramentoThis was my first time at VCA Westside, and the team is just fantastic. Dr. Laura Winemiller, my cat Winston’s vet was especially helpful. She was incredibly kind, compassionate and understanding, & worked to get my cat the care he needed, all while within my tight budget for what kind of care I could actually afford. And of course, above all, everyone was very sweet to my Winston. This was Winston’s most comfortable visit at the vet, and it was much smoother than I was expecting. Mayra also helped handle Winston, and she was super kind and amazing also. Thank you again!

Pet Sitting & Training

Elite Dogs Training & Boarding
3500 W Capitol Ave, West SacramentoI cannot say enough great things about Elite Dogs. I held off training my dogs for a few months but then understood they needed the necessary obedience training and time away to do so. Dee, Thomas, Alyssa and the rest of the staff were amazing. They sent updates with how they progressed and photos along the way. When we picked up my two female yellow labs a few weeks later, it was a night and day difference. There is a lot of information to process and homework that we have completed and will stick to; however, the staff was patient and taught us everything. They also mention that if you need assistance during the transition phase at home, they are just a phone call away to help answer any questions or concerns. If I could give more stars, I would.

Mecole's Mobile Dog School
739 Sacramento Ave, West SacramentoI highly recommend contacting Christine, if you are even just thinking about getting your dog any training. With the first session I was noticing a difference. She will definitely give you the tools to have your dog listen to you, it is definitely up to you to really use those tools. Everything I thought I was doing, I quickly realized I was just confusing my dog. Christine trains you as she trains your dog. It's a great and humbling experience when you see the levels of achievement your dog can reach with help from someone who really knows what makes a dog tick. Thanks a hundred times over Christine. Sierra and I appreciate everything you have done.

River Dogs Resort
2835 Hart Ave, West SacramentoI love this place. I go out of my way to take our dog Remy there nearly every time we're on vacation, either for short trips or longer ones. Remy feels comfortable there, gets plenty of exercise and play time with the other pups, and is well cared for. He is so excited when I drop him off, so I know his time there is rewarding, fun, and safe for him. I also really appreciate Dina's professionalism and kindness. I trust her completely with my dog's care while I'm away.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Water & Salt
1620 W Capitol Ave, West SacramentoFantastic place to get your water, all kinds of water you can think of.
But first, I'll review on the ice-cream, shaved iced, fruit freeze. They are amazing and even the 'small' is a large in most other dessert places. The ice-cream is Gunthers, and their shaved ice are massive! The quality is amazing as you can imagine at the place the takes water seriously.
If you are the area and want some cold dessert, this is definitely the spot to be.
Now in terms of the water, I spoke with Juan the owner, and his is 100% passionate about water. He talked about alkaline water, hydrogen infused water, and how Japan is at the forefront of medical-used waters. Very interesting and it's cool to meet someone so passionate about his work.
I've never seen a water store so popular before, so definitely check out the place, and have a chat with Juan and learn the benefits of hydrogen infused water! Enjoy.

Curry Kabab Paradise
705 Harbor Pointe Pl, West Sacramentofeel at home in this place. They treated us like brothers. The food brought me back to childhood — just like our moms used to cook. We are far away from home, but in this place you can feel at home for a little while. Thank you for having us. We will definitely come back.

Tsuki Sushi

Birdies Social Club
805 Riverfront St Suite 100, West SacramentoFound this spot right after landing in Sacramento, great first stop. They had opened early to show some basketball games, so only the happy hour menu was available, but no complaints there. The wings and steak tacos were both delicious, and I had a really good mocktail too. Shoutout to Tyler, our bartender! super funny, cool, and made the whole experience even better.
Will definitely go back when in Sacramento!

Serrano's Cafe
3021 W Capitol Ave, West SacramentoThis place is a cozy cafe style Mexican inspired sandwich/burger/brunch spot. Serrano burger: B+ Had pastrami and Serrano peppers on it for a little bit of heat. I liked it a lot. Pastrami on burgers is a trend that I think needs more love! Not a big fan of the crinkle cut fries but they're okay.

West Sacramento VFW
905 Drever St, West SacramentoSuch a beautiful day for a community event ! The VFW is the oldest combat veteran services organization, with roots back to 1899. Since 1946, VFW Post 8762 has served Veterans and the West Sacramento community. From VA claims & separation assistance, to simply helping those in need, we have never stopped helping Veterans regardless of membership status They put on a great Day of the Dead celebration with a lowrider show and food. They had a silent auction to help benefit local communities. They had Stomper from the A's and Dinger from the Rivercats. The staff there took the time to give us the tour and talk about the center. The center is so clean and inviting I can see why veterans and their families and the community love this place! They also rent this place out for functions. A great place for Veterans of Foreign Wars to come and feel welcome.

Lenise's Cafe
3150 Jefferson Blvd, West SacramentoMet a friend here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. As soon as I walked in a was greeted and directed to where the menus were located. After looking through the menu and making a decision, I went back up to the counter where you place your order with the cashier. I placed my order, received my number sign and sat down at a table. There is quite a bit of seating inside and outside as well. It was chilly so we sat inside. It was cozy and they've decorated for the holidays. I ordered the French dip panini special (has a few more things on the panini like chipotle aioli and grilled onions. It came with the au jus to dip the panini in. It was delicious and I pulls order it again. The flavor was fantastic and the aioli elevated it. I also had an iced mocha which was on the sweet side for me but still good. There is plenty of parking in the lot. And everyone in the restaurant was very nice and friendly.

Whitey's Jolly Kone
1300 Jefferson Blvd, West Sacramento⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Whitey’s Jolly Kone is a classic spot that never disappoints. The ice cream is rich, creamy, and served in generous portions, and their burgers and snacks are just as good. The vibe is fun and nostalgic, and the service is fast and friendly even when it’s busy. It’s the perfect place for a quick treat or a casual bite with friends and family. A true local favorite and always worth the stop!

Vince's Ristorante
840 Harbor Blvd, West SacramentoWaited 10 to 15 min to get food ordered by phone. Thought I was getting the $19 Thursday ribeye , but in fact I got the dinner rate at twenty three bucks each. Steak was delicious no comments there. But as a dinner $ rate, I only got a side salad and usually I think when you're in the restaurant, you get salad and a baked potato. Not sure about that but seems a dinner price would be a complete meal. Wasn't thrilled with my very dry and also burnt rolls that accompanied my two ribeye steak dinners. But i was happy with that RibEye flavor, thank you.
