26 S 3rd St, CarbondaleThese guys deliver on all fronts. One of the most refreshing dine-in experiences I've had this summer. In the age of $7 coffee and $23 burgers, stepping into Village Smithy to grab an omelette and bottomless joe for about $15 brought back the nostalgia of those early 1990s diners of my youth. No surprise they've been holding it down for 50 years in the same spot.

The Homestead Bar and Grill fit the bill on all accounts. We were so fortunate to have found this place. Our meal was prepared expertly and the mountain golf course setting was delightful.

647 Main St, CarbondaleThis is such a great little spot to grab food in town! We stopped by with our dog and were happy to find comfortable outdoor seating, which made the experience even better. The food was delicious, the drinks were well-made, and everything came out quickly. What really stood out, though, was the staff—they were so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely nice, which made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place you immediately want to revisit, and I’d definitely come back the next time I’m in the area.
