“I’ve been curious to visit the Hummel factory for a while now, and finally had a day off where I could stop in during their limited hours. No frills, old school vibe, which is exactly what you want from a spot like this. We picked up some bratwurst and kielbasa to bring home. Only $4 a dog for takeout, and lots of lunch options to choose from, as well as breakfast. They had more on the menu than I would’ve expected. Good place to keep in mind for a reasonable lunch!”

“CitySeed's Wooster Sq farmers market runs on Saturdays from 9am-1pm in the summer and is located in the Conte West Hills middle school parking lot. Parking is easy to find. It's an amazing place to stock up on weekly produce, grab brunch/pastries/coffee with friends, and dog-watch! On some days, there's even live music/performers. Vendors vary week by week but there's usually a good variety of seasonal produce, baked goods, prepared foods, coffee, local honey, dairy, eggs, and meats. Personal favorites: The fruit from woodland farm is amazing - they had samples of their plums and after trying one, I had to buy a pint! Other stands I find myself going back to are Seacoast Mushrooms (great variety and mushrooms are so flavorful!), Sono baking (delicious pastries and English muffins), and the jitter bus (excellent coffee to sip on as you're browsing the market).”

“I received Nica's Puttanesca Sauce in a gift basket. I was shocked at how good this sauce was. It is by FAR thee BEST sauce I have ever tasted! The sauce delivers a sweet to tangy combination that hits our pallet all at once as it explodes an abundance of flavor with every bite!! If you are lucky enough to live near this market -be sure to try this amazing, flavorful delight! When serving at home, you will experience the taste that even local restaurants can't capture. Sadly we do not live in CT .. but if you do, you've got to give this a go. I do hope an opportunity to pass through New Haven comes my way...there is no doubt I'll be stopping by.

“My cousin and I were curious about items that could be for sale at an Asian and Caribbean market, especially one located across from a whole food fruit and vegetable market. As you can see from the pictures, we were delightfully surprised. We have both traveled widely and were happy to see food items you can find in many African countries and the Caribbean. The clientele was many from that part of the world so that was a a good sign. The atmosphere was lively and the prices seemed reasonable. We saw people purchase items like salt fish, African yam, and lots of fresh fish. We’ll be back!”

“I usually don't write reviews on convenience stores, but they make some slamming Fried Chicken. I went to my daughter's track meet at the school in New Haven, Connecticut a while ago, and I wanted something to snack on. I asked someone on the street if there was a store in the area and they pointed me to this store. Now I'm going to be honest, it's not the best area in New Haven, Connecticut but sometimes the best food are in holes in the wallI, or in the hood . I was just going to get some chips but I seen they were selling wings and I wanted to try them out. I was a little concerned about the wings because they were big wings and the last time I ordered wings that big from an establishment, they were not cooked all the way through. As I walking back towards the school, I took a bite of the chicken and OH MY GOD!!! You're talking about flavors that were just dancing on my tongue. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the flavors were delicious, and that crunch was out of this world. I had to write this review because I had to tell someone!! lol. The wings are a dollar a piece and honestly I've been here a couple late nights.”

You can get almost anything you need in a pinch, and the markup from a supermarket isn't bad at all. Truly convenient. This store carries, among other things, the following: -Eggs -Milk -Bacon -Hot Dogs -Onions -Ginger -Mexican tomatillos (Stop&Shop doesn't even have these!) -Toilet paper -Paper towels -Soda -Birthday candles -Pet food -Sauces, spices, and condiments Basically anytime I'm in a pinch and realize I've run out of some basic household necessity, Chapel Mini Mart is there to save the day and inevitably has what I need. $10 minimum for credit card.”
