“I had an incredible experience with The UPS Store 1490 in Jacksonville, FL, and I feel compelled to share it.
I live in San Diego, CA, while my dad is in hospice in Jacksonville. I'm his POA and his mail had been piling up for nearly a year, and he was understandably concerned about his privacy and having personal mail sitting unattended at the facility.
I called the The UPS Store in his area and explained that I had an unusual and sensitive request: Would someone from the store be willing to go to my dad’s room, collect anything that appeared to be mail or packages, securely package everything, and ship it to me in San Diego?
TJ, the owner, didn’t hesitate. He personally drove to the facility, took care of everything, and made a difficult situation so much easier for me and my family.
This is customer service above and beyond. It’s also a wonderful example of the kind of personal service that independently owned The UPS Stores can provide. TJ didn’t treat this like just another transaction. He saw that someone needed help and stepped up.
What impressed me most was how authentic and caring he was. These store owners are members of the communities they serve, and TJ demonstrated exactly what that can mean.

“I would recommend this UPS location to anyone who lives in the immediate area. I live nearby, and it is always a pleasant experience in every sense of the word. From customer service to the air fresheners in the store, down to the shipping and delivery details. I can always be sure that the staff at this location have my best interests at heart with any valuables I ship out or any returns I may have. Me living nearby, of course I see the staff often. We converse about life, work, and overall just getting to know each other - obviously, work from their side of the table permitting. Never have I ever had a bad experience here!! Honestly, it's nice to have a family-operated UPS location where the staff and its management are so personable and friendly. It really makes your neighborhood, area, whatever you want to call it feel more like home. If you live anywhere East of 295 on the northside, I highly recommend stopping into this location and utilizing their services. Take a second and interact with the staff as well.
