My husband and I had tried many, many different food options over the years from fresh food to prepared food. After all failed attempts to introduce healthier foods to his diet, we were literally out of options, and his health was on the decline. My husband happened to stroll into the store to kill time and began talking with the staff about our pug and his food struggles. After asking him more questions about our pug's preferences, they suggested a frozen food and recommended mixing it in with his chicken. To our complete surprise, he LOVED it! Since then, everything they have recommended has worked. Recently, our pug fell in love with the dry food they recommended. He has NEVER eaten dry dog food ever!!! We are so grateful for their knowledge and wide selection of specialized products, including their excellent customer service! We are forever fans and will continue to trust their recommendations! 105 Oneawa Street, KailuaWe’ve taken our dog Dexter to Dr. Cunningham for years and she is the best. She is knowledgeable and honest. She is thorough in her examinations and recommendations, outlining your options based on the diagnosis, cost of treatment, and likely outcomes. She never pressures or tries to “up-sell” you on unnecessary procedures.
Last year Dexter needed surgery requiring anesthesia. Dexter has a mild heart murmur so I was incredibly nervous. Dr. Cunningham talked us through everything and made sure Dexter was given the proper care and attention he needed. She called me right after he woke up from surgery to confirm that everything went well.
We frequently get compliments about how amazing Dexter looks and acts for his age (14) and I attribute a part of it to her care.
We just got a new puppy and have been seeing Dr. Asato while Dr. Cunningham is on leave. She and her tech are great too (as a chihuahua parent, I love how much her tech loves chihuahuas).
Choosing who to care for your fur babies is a big decision, and you cannot go wrong with Dr. Cunningham and Kailua Makai Pet Hospital.

And some western herbs for some of the things that I wanted to work on. She’s very personable. Gave me a lot of information. Was open to all my suggestions needs and concerns for my dog. We were there for her over an hour. I felt very cared for. And my dog came home and was his old self playing and slept through the night. I am a happy dog, mom.

267 South Kalaheo Avenue, KailuaFor anyone who is looking for an integrative medicine practice for their four legged family members, I strongly recommend Dr. Levine and Julie and KAI Animal Institute.Stepping into KAI Animal Institute's studio, we were greeted with a calming and healing oasis that was thoughtfully designed for animals where Dr. Levine used various treatments like low level light laser therapy, rehab therapy, targeted pulse electromagnetic field therapy, and acupuncture for our dog’s pain. In addition, his wife, Julie, an animal behaviorist, performed harmonic therapy for our dog during the treatment which used sound healing powers to further help calm and treat our dog in addition to the acupuncture, etc. Soothing music was played in the background during the treatment session.During and after each session, we could see a change in our dog’s behavior and demeanor. She would smile and be so happy, excited to go to KAI Animal Institute’s healing oasis and see Dr. Levine and Julie. After a few treatments, she was able to stand for brief periods with assistance and continually kept trying to use her back legs on her own.We are so thankful, grateful and blessed to have met Dr. Levine and Julie and can’t recommend them enough for complementary care for animals dealing with pain or recovering from an injury or surgery.

Back story - I used to bring my old dog here years ago. When my family came back from Japan with a new dog, this office wasn’t open.
My dog was not acting like his usual self. His normal vet could not see him. I was told I needed to call around to other offices. I noticed Kailua Pet Hospital was open and decided to call. The gentleman who answered the phone at the front desk was so helpful and got me in within an hour. Dr. Thornburg was amazing and my dog felt comfortable with everyone in the office. It was decided that my dog more than likely injured his neck. We were sent home with meds that visit to help him feel more comfortable. Thank goodness he was able to be seen and the doctor figured it out, because he was in so much pain and the next day he was feeling so much better.
Thank you Kailua Pet Hospital! We’re glad to have you back.

So about a year ago we got a puppy and tried normal command training, BUT there wasn't any obedience there and it showed when is was time to go to work. That's when I learned that just because your dog can sit or lie down on command doesn't mean you are in control. I was missing big fundentals and so seeking out trainers I came across Canine coach. I've searched many other places and called and contacted many and decided this place. It's 1000% true when your dog is trained in a house is better then in a facility of farm or wherever they may go because for a dog it's a different environment then when they are at home with you. Miles did great with our Isabella and is always willing to help and follow up with us. I highly recommend him!

111 Hekili St, KailuaAfter using two trainers before finding deanna, I am eternally grateful for Hawai’i Dog training services. Deanna shifted the entire dynamic of my house. I’m someone who was willing to rescue and rehabilitate dogs at whatever cost, and Deanna saw and admired that in me, even if I am a “glutton for punishment” lol. She taught not only my three dogs, but me so much and offered more than I could’ve ever paid her for! I had a trainer tell me my dogs genetics were going to “haunt me for the rest of my life” and Deanna (who also has mutts) didn’t care about the shape, size, or behavior. She took them for who they were and made them the best that they could be (which they’re pretty dang awesome if you ask me). We owe deanna our entire life plus some. Nalo, Eva, and Remii gained an Auntie - and the Hensons gained a friend!

The three little pigs sandwich was smoky and each bite was a delight! Hands down one of the best eats from our trip! We will absolutely need to come back! Every side we got was delicious. No regrets and no wasted food! The service was fantastic and the whole deal was a great time! 10/10, I am going to recommend!

5 Ho'olai Street, KailuaI visited just after 7:00 AM and found no other customers. Since the malasadas are fried to order, there is a short wait. Fresh out of the fryer, they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside; my wife and I polished off six of them in no time. They were so delicious that we ended up buying more.

201 Kapaa Quarry Place Ste 3105, KailuaMy family and I visited the winery on the last day of our trip (11/1/26), it was a wonderful experience! Our server, Lalo, was fantastic. He walked us through the multiple wine profiles, helping us explore the different flavors. We were impressed by both Lalo’s outstanding service and the unique flavors of the wines.
Choosing our favorites was not easy. Some of our favorites included the Pineapple, Boysenberry Lavender, Dubai Chocolate, and POG.We earned a 20% discount.
During our visit, we located the scavenger hunt item, making the experience even more memorable. It was a fun and unique family memory that we’ll cherish for years to come.
However, as of this review, I noticed that we were charged for 6 bottles instead of 5 bottles, due to the scavenger hunt. Hopefully we can get this corrected.
For a fun winery experience with great wines, excellent service, and a little adventure, visit Oneo Winemaking. We’re so glad we did!

315 Uluniu Street, KailuaI’ve been wanting to go to this place for a while and was so happy that I finally did!Ganesh Dosa does not disappoint! They had so many different types of vegan crêpes or Dosa to choose from. I had one that was filled with potatoes and spices and it was so good and cooked to perfection. I also had a peanut butter and jelly cookie that was vegan and I was gonna say for dessert but it did not make it two minutes out of the parking lot. The place has a cute ambience if you wanna go for lunch with your friends or the orders are really quick and you can just pop in and order a dinner or meal and it’ll be ready in minutes so you can take it home. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable, especially about vegans. They did have one item that would not be vegan, which would be real Nutella in a crêpe, but I asked if I brought some vegan type of Nutella in if that could be used instead and they said no problem. There’s also a really cute chocolate shop next door that sells vegan chocolate and a couple of vintage shops nearby that were closed but I would love to check out another day when they’re open. It’s a great location, great food, great service, and a great treat to have.
