I ordered the peach flatbread and the ahi tuna salad. Both were seriously delicious. I wasn’t surprised that. the food was so good, but I especially was impressed with Matt’s helpfulness and understanding.

700 E Lake Cook Rd Ste 105, Buffalo Grovegiving this place 10/10! if you like mediterranian food, this place is a must! family owned and operated spot, they are SO NICE! every last thing i had was absolutely to die for! the spicy feta gave me life, and it wasn’t too spicy at all so if you can’t handle spice you can still enjoy it! they also had a spicy tzatziki that was so unique and delicious! their revolution sauce was very similar to a honey mustard, but definitely the best honey mustard style sauce i have had! greek fries were on point! the loukoumades which i got with nutella and walnuts was the perfect dessert and you can tell when you bite into them that they are homemade and fresh! and lastly the spicy chicken gyro, absolutely divine!!! not to mention they don’t skimp on anything! super fun and kind atmosphere, can’t wait to come back and try more things!!!! i ate the food too quickly to take pics tho. ope !

The staff was friendly, the service was good even though the server had only been there for 6 days, and the place was very clean. Everyone had fun watching the races from above and keeping an eye on the standings they display for each race.

The worker was nice because when I told him it was my first time at dq he showed me the options for the blizzard. And i picked s'mores. It was the best blizzard so far!. 161 W Dundee Rd, Buffalo GroveBravo! Didn’t expect this to be so good and consistent. Hakuya Sushi is one of those places you genuinely want to see do well. The chefs and servers are incredibly friendly, attentive, and clearly care about the experience they’re giving you.
One of my biggest tests for any sushi restaurant is simple: does it smell fishy when you walk in? Hakuya does not. At all. You can actually see the fresh fish displayed through the window as you enter, which I love because there’s a real sense of transparency about what you’re eating. The open kitchen is another huge plus. You can watch the chefs work and see how much time, care, and attention goes into every roll and dish. Sushi is an art and good sushi takes time. Everything is made by hand, so this definitely isn’t fast food and it shouldn’t be.
We had ordered takeout several times and it’s always been consistently good, but dining in was even better. Beautiful presentation, great service, and everything tasted incredibly fresh.
My advice: go with people you actually enjoy talking to, relax, and let the chefs do their thing. Delicious food takes a little time, and Hakuya is absolutely worth it. A great family-run sushi spot in Buffalo Grove that clearly takes pride in what they serve. They earned my highest recommendation.
