The Cashier who helped me named Ace, was super kind and willing to walk me through the whole store and help me buy everything I needed, He recommended me what was best for my fish, including the tank, food, plants, and decor. He also helped me get signed up for a Petco membership, which was super helpful! I don't think I'd be able to provide the best care for my fish if it wasn't for Ace's help!

597 W Lake Cook Rd, PalatineI can’t say enough great things about this animal hospital! Everyone there is so kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. As a first-time puppy mom, I had a ton of questions, and they took the time to answer every single one without ever making me feel rushed or pressured.
The staff is super informative and explains everything clearly, which really helped me feel confident in my decisions. My Penelope also doesn’t seem stressed when we go, which says a lot about how gentle and patient they are.
Their prices are very reasonable, and I really appreciate the discounted rates on Mondays and Tuesdays—it makes such a difference.
ALSO, I LOVE how they give you an estimate first before they do anything so I’m not surprised by pricing too.
You can tell they truly care about both the pets and their owners. Such good people. Highly recommend!

1589 N Quentin Rd, PalatineWe are newer to the area and just adopted a cat. I was drawn to Deer Grove Animal Hospital because of their Saturday hours since I work M-F. I was very impressed by the staff and care they showed our little guy while he got his vaccines and neutering.
Clean/Comfortable Facility, Caring/Educated Staff, and Reasonable Pricing without nickel and diming.
We are happy to have found a great new vet and would highly recommend them.

After years at a cat-only “specialty” clinic where we spent so much money and left feeling frustrated, unheard, and heartbroken, we were terrified to trust another vet. But this clinic has been everything we prayed for and more.
From the moment we reached out, they treated our cats like family. I was able to get a consultation the very same week because I was worried about one of our cats, and that alone meant the world. When one of our cats is sick, they don’t make us wait days or weeks—they fit us in the same day or the very next day. When you leave a message, they call back right away. You feel like your pet truly matters here.
Dr. Williams is one of the most compassionate veterinarians I have ever met. She takes her time, she listens, she explains, and you can tell she genuinely cares. She doesn’t rush, she follows up, and she checks in on our pets because she cares about how they’re doing—not because it’s “policy,” but because her heart is in what she does. She helped our cat with IBD finally get real relief after struggling for so long, and she has provided loving, thorough care to all three of our cats.
Because they care enough to see sick pets quickly, we haven’t had to live at the emergency vet anymore. They truly help families avoid that stress and financial burden. And speaking of finances, their prices are incredibly reasonable—significantly more affordable than the cat-only specialty clinic we went to for years, where we spent so much and didn’t receive anywhere near this level of care. Here, you get compassion, thoroughness, responsiveness, and true dedication without feeling financially taken advantage of.
Everyone in this clinic is wonderful—from the receptionist to the vet techs to Dr. Williams herself. It may be a small practice, but the quality of care, the warmth, and the genuine love for animals is huge.
I am so deeply thankful we found Palatine Family Pet Care. They have taken such beautiful care of our cats, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a vet who truly treats your pets like the precious family members they are.

Palatine Animal Hospital

I have a skiddish dog named Toby, mainly with other dogs, but when unfamiliar humans get close to him as well he will go from 0 to 100 and is very scared if im not with him. I did have my dog muzzled to protect everyone. I coordinated with them prior to make sure other dogs wouldn’t be in the lobby. the vet and his vet techs were very patient and non reactive with my dogs temperament which I appreciate because when I feel someone is non pleasant with out situation, it makes me not want to ever go back. Previously, we had to have a vet come to our house for vet care. The staff at PAH did a really nice job, I help my pups front and it helped. They were very accommodating and didn’t act annoyed. They even did his shots and blood work with me in the room, which I truly thank them for. Thank you guys!

I know this because he smells of perfume sometimes when I lick him up and if I mention staff members by name in the morning before we leave, his tail starts wagging like a propeller. :)

550 W Wood St UNIT 300, PalatineWe had an awesome experience working with Alyssa and our dog LuLu. She worked with LuLu in such an incredible way that LuLu responded in such an adoring way. Alyssa worked with us and taught us everything she did with LuLu. It was like we had a new dog and it has been great walking with her. A Closer Bond gave us the best training experience. She was boarded there for a week and was well taken care of. She didn’t even appear mad that we left her! Lol! I think LuLu had a great week!

2377 N Hicks Rd, PalatineMy favorite pho restaurant, hands down. I've ordered takeout many times and have also dined in, and they never disappoint. Whenever I'm craving pho, I try other places from time to time, but I always end up coming back here.
They're still cash only (though they do have an ATM inside), which is probably the only inconvenience. Even so, it's absolutely worth it because the prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the food is consistently delicious.
After all these years, this is still my go-to spot for pho.
