    “Urbandale location - I love shopping at Fareway! This location is only a block away from me and within walking distance. This location is always clean. If you don’t see something on the shelf, a stock person is always willing to check in the back. All the people there are fantastic and friendly. I love that they still help with your groceries and take them out to your car. There is one thing. The store just remodeled the freezer section and they are very nice. However when the freezers were upgraded, one of my favorite items is no longer available. I’ve looked all over and finally found it at the Grimes store. Looks like I’ll be trekking to Grimes.”

Aside from the food being hot, ready on time and great tasting, the management staff promptly responded to a small snaffu and went above and beyond to correct the issue.     “On Friday, I received a notification that I had 4 prescriptions to pick up. I had requested one and had no idea what the other 3 were. I went, and it was a glucometer and supplies. Without formally telling me, my OB diagnosed me with gestational diabetes. I told the associate who gave me the supplies that I had never used a glucometer before. He called the pharmacist over to provide me a consult. The pharmacist was very kind and patient and thoroughly walked me and my husband through how to use the glucometer. He greatly relieved a very stressful moment. May his steak always be perfectly cooked and his pillow always be cool.”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard.     Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
