“The Blue House has been a Bethesda staple for cool gift items for 30 years! The store moved from its original location further down Woodmont Ave. several years ago.
Once you walk into The Blue House, you will be enchanted by all of the local and region-themed gifts available ranging from decorative pillows to unique cookbooks, candles and other decorative items.
There is something for everyone in this quaint gift shop. Their children’s section is well-stocked with various toys, books and trinkets.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Parking can be a little limited depending on when you go. There is street parking and a public parking garage nearby.”

“I would like to personally applaud and sincerely thank Alex, the store manager, for her incredible quick thinking during a scare about a potential shooter yesterday at the Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. During this emergency, she locked the store front and ensured the safety of her customers, which included a baby and 4 children, and an adult in the back room. Montgomery Mall should be incredibly proud to have Alex who is not only an exemplary manager but a hero. On top of it, she was incredibly professional and when it was clear that the situation was safe, she went back to helping her customers make purchases. Not everyone has the presence of mind to do the right thing during a crisis, and her actions should be an example. As a parent, I am deeply and immensely grateful to her for protecting them. As an aside, my son was very happy with his purchase at Zumiez, a jacket -and thanks to Alex, he and his friends are safe.”
“Saronawit was very sweet, helpful and knowledgeable. I’m tall and curvy so it’s always rough finding jeans that fit me exactly how I need them to. I usually wear European denim so I only know my waist measurements and inseams. She helped me find a PERFECT fit and a new favorite type from AE for a fraction of what I usually pay for designer denim. She helped my little brother find jeans that were a great fit too. Definitely grateful for the service she provided.”
“I've loved Intimissimi for 28 years, and when I lived in Italy, it was my favorite store. When I discovered they were in the United States, it was incredible. I always buy from them; I always love the style, the quality, the brand. Life is too short not to enjoy an Intimissimi piece every day. Waking up in lace pajamas is sophisticated. “I'll be honest, I have never been in a Vineyard Vines before but I needed a size exchange for a Christmas gift I received. I truly hope all of their customer service was as good as Erol provided. (My bad on the spelling of your name, dude!) He ran me through my options in the shop. When they didn't work out since the shirt I had was out of stock at this location, he walked me through the very seamless way to get my size online. It was one of the easiest exchanges I have experienced. I was impressed with everything in my visit. Too bad I was in a rush so I couldn't shop a bit.”

My husband has been selected for Chief and is out on a ship. He needed the dress cover but it was back ordered online, so he asked me to find one and mail it to him asap. I had no idea what I was looking for, so I asked for help from Rowena. She went all over the store and found everything we needed. Then someone else came to the front, (unfortunately I didnt catch her name) and she put the anchor on the cover and boxed it up nicely for me.
So, to Rowena and her coworker who were so patient and kind to me and my kids while we were on a quest for my husband, thank you so very much ?”
“Highly recommend this store and the company. The clothing feels premium and the fittings are simple. Tops are either regular fit or slim fit and the pants/shorts are straight fit(slim) or relaxed fit where the ankle is less tapered. So no matter what top or bottom you get, they are exactly the same fit. If you buy $300 dollars worth you get I think 20% or 25% discount and a 25% military discount. They have a myID 25% military discount for online purchases. The customer service was impeccable and you really felt welcomed!”
“I recently got my pants tailored at Madewell at the Montgomery Mall and I just received my pants today. Satisfied is an understatement!!!
1. Thanks to Elisa at Madewell, my pants are the perfect length. She was so patient with me while we made a few adjustments to get it right. I really appreciated that she made me feel comfortable during the process.
2. I requested a shipment from the store yesterday and received my pants today. Super fast shipping!
3. I love that the tailor was able to keep the design at the bottom without trimming it off.

“I was waiting in line to make a purchase when I witnessed an African American woman with a deplorable attitude being rude to a cashier demanding receipts. She called a manager who gave her money back and a physical receipt. The cashier tried to explain she could not give her a receipt for an online return but was going to receive an email. The cashier tried her hardest to keep her cool and avoid a confrontation. The woman kept pushing and kept being rude, demanding a receipt and her name. She even took a picture of her without her consent with no respect whatsoever. I have been to zara at westfield montgomery many times and that cashier is one of the nicest people I have interacted with and always make me feel welcome. She is one of the FEW good ones. I was appalled how badly that woman treated her and realized cashiers deal with a lot of negativity from certain customers. I only hope management protect their employees better.”

Today I lost my Wallet at the mall. may be someone intentionally took it from my backpack and also used my debit card (Bank of America) at Nordstrom. I had some very important ID cards, visiting cards and few cash in that wallet. It was pink in color. If someone finds out it, kindly please give to the mall security ? it will be great help.
