“I usually avoid crowded stores, so I was pleasantly surprised that this Burlington wasn't overly busy. At first, I found shopping frustrating because it's difficult to find matching outfits. Once I shifted my focus to buying separates instead of complete outfits, my experience improved quite a bit.
My biggest concern is the loss prevention process. Having someone briefly glance at receipts and bags as customers leave doesn't seem like an effective use of time or resources. A better investment would be modern electronic security tags on merchandise, reliable exit sensors, and consistent cashier procedures to ensure tags are removed or deactivated correctly. If an alarm sounds after a customer has already checked out, staff should verify the entire purchase rather than relying on a quick visual inspection at the door.
Overall, I enjoyed the shopping experience more than I expected, but I think Burlington could significantly improve its loss prevention strategy by using more effective technology and processes instead of receipt checks that don't appear to provide much security.”
