Pet Stores & Supplies

Unleashed by Petco
1406 Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonI love my local Petco store. It's a smaller store, but has a good variety of items. What makes this store great is its staff. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly, professional, and extremely helpful if I have questions on a product, or they offer very good advice. Plus they work in tandem with a local pet food pantry, which I think is fantastic.

Pet Grooming

The Clip Joint
108 Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonI was motivated to try the Clip Joint because I've noticed beautiful dogs all over the Cambridge / Arlington area, and whenever I ask their owners who grooms them, they always said Julie @ Clip Joint. My Bichon is 6 months old, and the first groomer we went to (not Clip Joint) charged extra for "bad behavior". I thought this was a red flag as my girl is so well behaved, even though she doesn't love being washed and trimmed she definitely tolerates it. I warned Julie of this, and she sent me the sweetest text about how well behaved she was. I was super pleased with this experience & I will be returning over and over and over again. So happy our girl is in the hands of someone we trust so well. Thank you Julie & team! (Totally blanking on her helpers name, Jordan maybe??) anyways can't wait to come back, she looks so beautiful and smells so good without it being overpowering and I can tell my girl feels so pretty too!!!!!

Pet Care

Sleepy Dog Veterinary
114 Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonMy dog Blue had his first appointment with Dr. Innis today and it was absolutely wonderful. He’s only 5 and already has osteoarthritis due to a congenital health issue. I wanted to find a place that would help support him and provide treatments to keep him comfortable in the most non-invasive way possible. I was blown away by the amount of care the team at Sleepy Dog showed Blue. He’s normally so stressed at vet visits but he was so much calmer here ?. I can really tell they love animals and care about their overall wellbeing. Thank you so much Sleepy Dog Team for seeing Blue today! I’m so grateful!

Mill Brook Animal Clinic
1183 Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonI've been going to Mill Brook for the past 5+ years, through all the recent personnel changes, and one thing has always been true- they are caring, thorough, and thoughtful. They are always willing to take the time to answer any questions I might have, and I know they adore my pup and only want what's best for him. During his most recent procedures (which were fairly extensive), I never felt pressured to do more/less than what I thought was necessary after getting all the facts from Dr. P. and Dr. Suzanne. I also find it very helpful that they can do everything at this location- echos, ultrasounds, dental work, etc- it makes it very convenient!

Pet Sitting & Training

Go Play
1046 Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonOur dog LOVES Go Play! We did puppy and basic obedience courses there and she goes weekly for daycare. When they open the door for her to come in our dog runs in and doesn’t look back! Go Play was also super helpful and supportive when we were going through behavioral issues with our dog. They’re so fantastic!

Umi Sushi
474 Massachusetts Avenue, ArlingtonAbsolutely my favorite place for sushi when adding together freshness, service, and timeliness. After moving to Massachusetts from Florida, there has barely been any place with real flavor up here. After checking the reviews I saw this place might have some potential for a good price. It’s a small restaurant with a few tables, and the perfect hominess. We wanted to go out somewhere for Valentine’s Day with our baby, not somewhere too crowded considering she’s in her chaotic phase, and we went here. We got a maki party platter for us and a chicken teriyaki for the baby. It’s an adult portion so we decided to have something for her to have lunch and dinner with the next day. The sushi came out and it was so amazing and honestly super fast too. Then came the babies plate, it comes with a miso soup so we were able to get her to try it and she loved that. Then we cut up her food into bite size pieces and as we were preparing it, even though I personally hate chicken, it was SO FLAVORFUL!! We had to keep going back to her plate for tiny bites because it was delicious, the chicken was NOT dry and it felt so clean and refreshing each bite. Then when in regard to the service, WOW the waitress was absolutely the sweetest ever, was so interactive with our baby and attentive to us. Our new regular place for sure.

Kendall Kitchen at the Quad
10 Wilson Rd, ArlingtonI ordered lunch from here via a catering service. Because of this I can't speak to the ambiance but my review is based off the salad I ordered. Overall satisfied with my salad. It was an average salad. The chicken was bland. The portion was generous. Would have enjoyed a complementary side pita but that was not included. I'd definitely order this again.

The Scoop N Scootery
112 Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonI have no words for this place. We walked up to the counter very late at night and almost ordered outside before an extremely kind employee informed us he’d rather not see us order and wait in the cold. We ordered inside the car and he actually brought it out to us with enough utensils for us. To say the ice cream was good is an understatement. Enough to feed a village, everything was so fresh and delicious. A wonderful amount of ice cream with all the toppings that put Ben and Jerry’s to shame. Not overwhelming, just enough to elevate it. Customizable options for simpler taste buds and freshly made whipped cream to round it off. My lactose intolerance wife didn’t even get a stomach ache. Late night hours, service, food, and everything else gives this an EASY 5 stars.

Bubble Nation
456A Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonA really nice neighborhood shop selling Bubble Tea with a smile. The store gets really busy in the afternoon as it is frequented by kids after school. At all other times it’s peaceful. You can place your order to a staff member, or even order it through a self ordering kiosk. The menu is quite large with a variety of flavors which they keep on adding to. They accept payments through both cash and card. Staff are really nice and helpful. There is a small seating area next to the wall and shop front glass wall.

Town Tavern
201 Massachusetts Ave, ArlingtonLocated across the street from the Capitol Theater, we had a great early dinner before a movie. Tried the unusual sesame salmon over soba noodles—so tasty—others had Tavern burger and Cubano. Tavern makes the BEST steak fries. Glad this friendly restaurant is in our neighborhood!
