Petco
2675 S Rochester Rd, RochesterI went to pick out a few giftcards and some dog toys for my kid’s teachers who both have dogs (and a fun new toy for my pup). When I walked in it wasn’t busy, but there were staff members walking around making the place organized and keeping an eye out to see if anyone needed help. I passed the salon and someone was dropping off a very rambunctious fur baby (obviously toddler) but happy dog. The staff didn’t act exhausted, even though it is close to the holidays, but were genuinely excited for their time with this guy. As I checked out with my giftcards and toys, the cashier rang everything up and then double checked the balance on the cards to make sure the recipients would have no issues using them. They really do care here, and it’s worth my time and doesn't cut into my threshold of “dealing with people” by going to this store. 10/10

Oakland Animal Hospital
180 E 2nd St, RochesterI am deeply grateful for Dr. Monica, who has been amazing in caring for my dogs. He not only brings remarkable expertise but also a pure heart and genuine compassion. From our very first visit, Dr. Monica took the time to connect with my dogs and truly understand their needs. It’s clear how much he cares, going above and beyond to ensure I feel informed and reassured every step of the way.
His unique blend of knowledge and kindness gives me complete trust and peace of mind. The staff at Oakland Animal Hospital is also fantastic—welcoming, attentive, and always supportive. I’m so thankful to have Dr. Monica and his team, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dogs’ care !

Paint Creek Animal Clinic
4315 Orion Rd, RochesterI have been taking my German Shepherd, Kozak, to Paint Creek Animal Clinic since he was just 3 months old, and I couldn’t be happier with the care he receives. The entire team is incredibly supportive and professional. Recently, Kozak underwent neutering and a cyst procedure, which was a stressful decision for me, but Dr. Barkham and his team were there every step of the way, providing reassurance and expert care. I highly recommend Paint Creek Animal Clinic to anyone looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarian!

Chomp
200 S Main St, RochesterRochester, known for its cute dining and nightlife, is actually extremely basic and bland. Without much competition many of these restaurants have zero reason to make any attempt at diversity or excitement. Hence we face many “Friday night at Applebees” type dining experiences.
Meanwhile Chomp is over here like “HOLD MY BEER; WOULD YOU LIKE SOMETHING OFF OUR VEGAN MENU?!?”.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen there is more to be found in culinary exploration than chicken fingers and frozen french fries.
Chomp has an exciting menu, full of creativity and options for all to enjoy. From quality plant based options to decadent dishes and sandwiches, this corner hot spot stands high above the rest. The environment is fast casual and perched in a historic building that lives up to everything you’d expect in such a cute town. Thanks Chomp. We are proud to give you our dollars.

O'Connor's Public House
324 S Main St, RochesterIf you’re looking for great authentic Irish food, this is the place to go! I’m always impressed by the food when I go! And I leave satisfied! This time we tried the two mocktails on the drink menu and you couldn’t even tell they didn’t have alcohol in them! They were delicious! We also got the Irish nachos because their homemade chips are the best!! If you’re in the area and hungry, make sure you stop in!

City Tavern Kitchen & Bar
423 S Main St, RochesterThe new name for this place is 423 Main which I believe was changed a year ago. We live out of state but we were in town visiting family. I used to go to this place when it was B's Bar 45 years ago. The food portions were large and the 4 of us all liked our appetizers and meals. A lot of good looking meals passed our table. Cocktails were good and well portioned. We walked through Rochester to see the holiday lights and decided to go in for dinner. They were booked with reservations and the place was packed but were able to get in on a wait list with text system that worked well letting you know your approximate wait time and how many were ahead of you.
