Petco
2675 S Rochester Rd, RochesterI went to pick out a few giftcards and some dog toys for my kid’s teachers who both have dogs (and a fun new toy for my pup). When I walked in it wasn’t busy, but there were staff members walking around making the place organized and keeping an eye out to see if anyone needed help. I passed the salon and someone was dropping off a very rambunctious fur baby (obviously toddler) but happy dog. The staff didn’t act exhausted, even though it is close to the holidays, but were genuinely excited for their time with this guy. As I checked out with my giftcards and toys, the cashier rang everything up and then double checked the balance on the cards to make sure the recipients would have no issues using them. They really do care here, and it’s worth my time and doesn't cut into my threshold of “dealing with people” by going to this store. 10/10

Zippen Clippers
210 1st St, RochesterWe’ve been taking our 40lbs Aussie doodle here for years now and we absolutely love them! They never judge, always fast, and by far the best pricing of any groomer within 50 miles. My dog actually gets excited to go there which says a lot about their care! You do usually have to leave a voicemail, but they always call back fast!

Pet Care

Goodison Veterinary Center
4379 Orion Road, Territorial Rd off, RochesterBest veterinary clinic in SE Michigan. We lived an hour away and still kept going here because it was worth the drive. Our dog Stella loves the staff and how much love/attention they show her. Our other dog Obie struggles with anxiety going to the vet, but they let us bring Stella as his emotional support dog and he does great. 10/10 stars, highly recommend

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Chomp
200 S Main St, RochesterWish this kind of place was closer to where we live in. Apparently they updated their menu recently to include more vegan options and they're pretty solid! Really enjoyed the food we got and would definitely come back to try more. We got the Nachos, The Double Down chick'n sandwich, and their Vegan Reuban.

O'Connor's Public House
324 S Main St, RochesterFood tasted great. The live Irish music was an unexpected treat. The service was a bit lack luster for how few people were there. Not a busy sunday night and our waiter checked on us once. The food while very good took awhile to get to our table. Observed several tables get food before ours even though we were seated before them.

City Tavern Kitchen & Bar
423 S Main St, RochesterThe new name for this place is 423 Main which I believe was changed a year ago. We live out of state but we were in town visiting family. I used to go to this place when it was B's Bar 45 years ago. The food portions were large and the 4 of us all liked our appetizers and meals. A lot of good looking meals passed our table. Cocktails were good and well portioned. We walked through Rochester to see the holiday lights and decided to go in for dinner. They were booked with reservations and the place was packed but were able to get in on a wait list with text system that worked well letting you know your approximate wait time and how many were ahead of you.
