Pet Care

Court Square Animal Hospital
42-34 Crescent St, Long Island CityWe are beyond thankful to have found this place. We had terrible luck finding a good vet in Astoria, but we finally found it here with Dr. Gerber. She is great, so kind, and validates all we’ve been doing for our cat. It means a lot. They have other locations throughout Long Island, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. The chief veterinary medical officer, Dr. Coren, is fantastic and whip smart. We also commute to Huntington to go to West Hills Animal Hospital when we are able, to see him. It is because of these doctors that our cat is still here with us. I am forever grateful for the care and courtesy we’ve been given by Dr. Coren and Dr. Gerber. As long as we live in New York, we will continue to see them!

InstaVet Urgent Care & Wellness Animal Hospital - LIC Queens Pet Surgery Medical Center
44-16 23rd St, Long Island CityNoticed my cat limping around 7:30 on a Friday night. My regular vet was closed and the emergency vet wait was 3 hours long. I called this office and they told me they could get me right in. Rushed over and quickly felt at ease. Receptionist and nurses were patient despite my anxious rambling. They were gentle and patient with my pet. The doctor was soft spoken and attentive. He took the time to listen to every detail I gave and made me feel heard, validated and reassured during a scary time. Care was swift and they were transparent about cost, process etc and answered every question I had. So grateful that I found this place. Highly recommend!

Long Island City Veterinary Center
48-18 Vernon Blvd, Long Island CityWe are very pleased with our choice of getting a second opinion for our dog Kai. She has a terrible paw infection and with the uncertainty of it, we needed another opinion, more information, more testing and this place gave us just that. The tech, nurse and vet were all fantastic and very patient with my dog since she was nervous throughout the experience, which ended with smiles and a wagging tail. I highly recommend.

Fifth Hammer Brewing Company
10-28 46th Ave, Long Island CityFifth Hammer was one of the highlights of my first day in NYC. I loved that everything is brewed right there on-site, and you can really feel the care and personality in what they’re doing. I tried the smoked porter, which I’d never had before, and it was excellent. The Irish red lager also completely surprised me; I usually don’t love red beers, but this one was phenomenal.
Billy behind the bar was awesome. Super welcoming, funny, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. I told him about my rough “welcome to New York” travel story, and he made the whole stop feel like exactly the kind of local experience I was hoping to find on this trip.
As someone from Oregon who loves Great Notion but has watched some of that fun, quirky, small-brewery magic get a little too corporate over time, Fifth Hammer felt like the real deal: local, thoughtful, creative, and still full of soul. I’m really glad I stopped in.

No Stress Coffee
42-77 Hunter St, Long Island CityThis is my favorite coffee shop in the ENTIRETY of NYC. They care about quality of products above all, and it shows. My favorite drinks are the iced oat milk matcha with honey (so creamy), and iced oat milk coffee with honey. The peanut butter jam cookies are to DIE for. The texture is chewy on the inside with the thinnest, crispy outter layer. The baristas are so kind and handle the high flow of orders calmly. Theyre consistent with their product, and I'm here for it nearly everyday lol.

Bantry Bay Publick House
33-01 Greenpoint Ave, Long Island CityI can't say enough about this place. I was a little worried about having only one restaurant near our hotel, but the food was really good, and so was the service. Then my wife and I dropped by for drinks on Sunday night after a concert. We came in there thinking we'd be two drinks and done, but ended up talking with the bartender for hours. These guys are great!

LM Cafe
11-11 44th Rd, Long Island CityWe are visiting from Miami and stumbled upon this hidden gem. We ordered blueberry pancakes , 2 egg platers and a breakfast sandwich and everything was a 10/10. I got myself a mushroom coffee which was interesting , very good as well. The place is small and homey. The staff was very kind and welcoming. They have a variety of options on the menu & they even have vegan protein powder to make shakes. The hash browns and eggs were delicious and were not greasy at all. Fast service . If you are looking for some good breakfast or quick sandwich / wrap / smoothies check them out .
