Pet Care

ANC Veterinary Dental Center
1 Cottage Pl, New RochelleAbsolutely the best.Let me start by saying that I’m a crazy person who treats my dog like a human baby. I love her more than anything in the world. She also has terrible teeth, common to her micro-breed. (Little dogs = little teeth = tiniest bit of decay can destroy a tooth in a blink.)Dr. Surgeon and his assistant Maria are AMAZING. The office is small and intimate and so welcoming and warm. The technology they use is state of the art and the doctor even showed me how the various imagining machines worked, and he explained in detail what he saw and what he did. He was so kind and thorough and honestly— I didn’t think they made doctors like this anymore. He’s like someone from a totally different era; so wise and decent. He told me “I still do this because I love the animals” and that’s clearly true.Maria was also so warm and loving to my little dog and I could tell my pup felt truly comfortable and at ease with her. I was so nervous about having my dog’s teeth dealt with but Dr. Surgeon and Maria honestly could not have done more to put my mind completely at ease.DO NOT HESITATE to bring your dog here. And please note, anyone who has left a bad review (go ahead and read them) is complaining solely about money. Well; no, it’s not cheap to have your animal go under anesthesia and have complicated surgical procedures performed. That’s why there’s pet insurance. I’m sorry if it’s going to cost you a lot, but that’s not a reason to blast a truly gifted and deeply caring doctor. No one can possibly have anything bad to say about how their animal was treated here, because it’s impossible to imagine Maria and Dr. Surgeon reacting to any creature with anything less than total professionalism and love. So glad I found them and so happy to be able to return for cleanings in the future.

New Rochelle Animal Hospital
98 North Ave, New RochelleThe staff and Dr are friendly, kind and treat things with a touch of humor. My little fur ball hates going to the vet but that normal for most pets. The take you seriously and listen to you concerns. Bottom line is I trust them to help the little guy when he needs it. I’d definitely recommend them.

Al Toque Latin Cuisine
87 Weyman Ave, New RochelleI pass this place all the time but never thought to stop in. Big mistake! The other morning I finally decided to give it a try and ordered a late breakfast via DoorDash. I went with the Venezuelan Breakfast, and wow, it was incredible. The shredded beef was perfectly seasoned, the caraotas (black beans) were flavorful, and the arepa was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The scrambled eggs and sweet maduros rounded everything out and made the meal so satisfying. Now I can’t wait to explore more of their menu. Highly recommend!

Remi's Deli
989 Main St, New RochelleIt’s good to know some good things never change.
I recently moved back to the area and had memories of the amazing sandwiches I used to get from this deli way back in the day (10+ years). Back in high school this was everybody’s go to spot.
I was very happy to see them still open till this day but wasn’t sure what to expect as it had been so long.
I can happily say my chicken cutlet hero was just as amazing as I remember. Perfectly cooked big chicken cutlet slices, crispy bacon and nice fresh bread.
The pricing was and is still fair as well!
So glad to see such a long running establishment still putting out amazing food. Love the old school vibes as well. Will be back for sure.
Thanks guys!

Tzatziki Greek Grill
1 Huguenot St, New RochelleWhat a delicious, pleasant surprise this little restaurant was! When I walked in I honestly didn't expect too much because it was small and completely empty, and could have been a little cleaner. However the food was outstanding, and I am VERY picky. My friend and I split a ginormous Greek salad (the stuffed grape leaves were unbelievable), and we each ordered a gyro. Mine was chicken and so good! We also ordered the side of fries, and for $4 we received a large basket of fresh, hand cut, perfectly cooked fries. I don't live anywhere New Rochelle but I'm hoping to make it back there!

Fratelli Pizza & Pasta
9 Huguenot St, New RochelleI was desperate for a slice of New York pizza. This place did not disappoint. It was crunchy crispy yummy all the great flavors of sauce and cheese , small little spot in new Rochelle is worth a try . The locals were coming in and out the whole time I was there eating my slice. I just wish there was those paper cups soda, fountain machines like the old days. I'll be going back tomorrow for a slice of this Sicilian, which also looked amazing.

Chickens Gone Wild
211 Main St, New RochelleGood chicken that doesn't quite get to great chicken. That doesn't mean don't eat here, just set your expectations appropriately. The name? That's great.
The grilled chicken was fine. It might have been slightly over-roasted, and wasn't exploding with Maillard flavor the way a great fire-roasted chicken is. It comes with two sauces, one a bbq sauce and the other buffalo sauce. Both had very heavy vinegar notes. The mac and cheese could have been cheesier.
Service was fast and pleasant.
Would I eat here again? Yes. Would I go out of my way to do so? Probably not.
