“01/13/2025 - We visited this specific Citibank branch today to open a CD account and everything went very well. We registered in the waiting room for assistance, a while later, a friendly lady (maybe a supervisor) showed up and pretty quickly she found a very professional gentleman named Sami Elfarah to help us. He was knowledgeable, helpful and very patient with us. Mr. Elfarah take the time to understand my unique financial goals and offer personalized solutions that align with my needs. The peace of mind I have knowing that CitiBank is on my side, guiding me every step of the way, is truly invaluable. April 2026 - After several years of banking without issue, Citibank stopped mailing his annual tax documents to his country of residence.
We went to this local Citibank branch here in NY to resolve this, hoping to get the necessary tax forms printed in person. Instead, we were met with the US branch manager who seemed unable to handle basic international account inquiries.The documents produced by the branch were riddled with discrepancies, including incorrect interest-earned amounts, missing additional account information, and inaccurate balances.
Whether the general Citibank customer service hotline or this specific branch on 71st avenue in Forest Hills, NY are basically the same bad news, one cannot get through to them on the phone number given. Calls are automated, running you in circles, the branches and the 800 #'s. After hours and hours of trying, my call was routed to INDIA ??? we didn't get a word of what Citi-India was saying except that we were given a confirmation number, in which we later found out that it serves ABSOLUTELY no purpose.
6/15/2026 - My partner (who is white) and I (an Asian man) went to the branch to withdraw money. We waited in line together and walked up to the counter together. We were served by the male cashier at the last counter near the ATM machines.
As we approached, the cashier asked my partner if I was with him. While I understand banks have security protocols, this question felt deeply biased. The cashier completely ignored the fact that we had been standing in line together and walked up at the exact same moment. It felt like he assumed an Asian man following a white customer was automatically a threat.
Citibank needs to train its staff to look at the actual situation instead of letting racial assumptions guide how they treat customers. It was an offensive experience that should not happen.”

A Bank Staff named BRYAN seeing me approached and helped me and brought me to the teller to withdraw my money. He said I didn’t need to fill up the form. He motioned to the teller to help me out. And wow! The teller named VALERIA was very, very kind, helpful in assisting me. For me this Chase Bank is the best. All their staff are friendly, warm and helpful. “Fantastic bank! The decor and inside of the bank has been renovated and really elevated since the last picture posted of it from 7 years ago. I highly recommend anyone to come here as they are efficient and friendly. Their implementation of updated technology to help make transactions a lot quicker. But that doesn't mean that there aren't people around to help. I was able to get assistance from anyone in the bank and they are highly patient and helpful. It was an fantastic experience.”
