Hyde Park Animal Hospital
4938 Albany Post Rd, StaatsburgOn December 4th 2025 I had to bring my cat in for an emergency appointment that ended up resulting in her needing to be euthanized. Something I never imagined having to do. She came in, in very fragile condition. Dr Mintzer was very honest patient and compassionate with me, and laid all the options out on the table clearly with realistic expectations. I never believed in euthanasia, but when I asked him if he believed it was the best thing for her his answer was said with such certainty that I was able to put aside my personal feelings to make the right choice for her.
Words can not express the grief, guilt, and the loss that I have felt with her passing, but they can explain how truly compassionate, knowledgeable and just all around good dr he is.
I want to say thank you to Dr Mintzer and his staff for being able to see her and making a not so easy decision a little less painful and for helping her cross the rainbow bridge.
