Pet Care

Athens Veterinary Clinic
16 Pomeroy Rd, AthensDr. Aanestad, Maddie, and Caytlin took great care of my cat, Ramon, this morning! The staff was so gentle, kind, and compassionate with him. Dr. Aanestad does a great job of explaining what's going on and how to administer meds, the techs cleaned my cat's ears and restrained him for his shots without scaring him, and they made sure there were no surprises for the cost of service (which was very reasonably priced!!). I even got an estimate for a future dental procedure that included a range of prices based on things that could come up during the procedure, which is so helpful for saving and planning for his future care. I cannot recommend this clinic enough to other pet parents that want to keep their babies healthy and happy!

Ohio Valley Animal Clinic of Athens
13480 Della Dr, AthensI switched from Kroner Animal Care to Ohio Valley Animal Clinic a couple of months ago. I'm very glad I did! Dr. McCoy was so kind and patient with not only me but my kitties as well. She answered all of my questions and even explained a diagnosis that Kroner vets had given one of my cats but didn't elaborate on. I'm so grateful that I made the switch!

The Calm Companion
8671 McLean Ln, AthensI can’t say enough good things about The Calm Companion! They have been absolutely amazing with our dogs. We have loved the training (group and private sessions), boarding, and daycare. Kris and Rosanne go above and beyond for Blaze and Skye. It’s clear how much they care about each dog and their individual needs. Our dogs always come home happy, well-cared for, and better behaved. Knowing they are in such good hands gives me a peace of mind. I highly recommend The Calm Companion to anyone looking for help!!

Devil's Kettle Brewing
97 Columbus Rd, AthensGreat atmosphere! Food trucks available. Music and views. Stopped while at a BMW Rally. Had a great afternoon tasting beer and listening to great music. The beer was great. The food truck offered a good variety of appetizers. We sat outside- enjoyed the view and weather.

Donkey Coffee
17 W Washington St, AthensGreat service and delicious coffee! They were nice and made a made me a mocha that was less sweet and offered to alter it if it wasn't what I was looking for. The chocolate chip muffin was also really good. I liked the atmosphere and there were plenty of comfortable seating areas. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Little Fish Brewing Company
8675 Armitage Rd, AthensFirst two sours were wonderful. The pickled vegetables app was perfect. Then I lingered for dinner and things jumped off the rails. Maybe someone had a concept with the Gorda Gorda entree, but it did not work. A third of the plate was just left over bulk vegetables, and the remainder did not come together. It was bad. The beer pairing - Mexican Lager - was weak.

My only negative is that they don’t carry Modelo 0.0 it’s a niche thing, not a huge deal.

Siam Thai
102 W Union St, AthensI LOVE this place. The staff who work here are very sweet. Food typically comes out in a very timely manner. Sometimes wait times may be longer on big weekends, but that is always to be expected. Very chill setting, with some booths and tables that are in a corner for extra privacy. Any menu item with tofu is amazing, I love the general tsos tofu, the crab rangoons are awesome, and the spicy garlic bean appetizer is a must-get every time I stop. I also love any version of the pad Thai.

Cutler's Restaurant and Bunch of Grapes Tavern
331 Richland Ave, AthensMy wife and I came here for a birthday/ anniversary dinner. We r from Michigan and have never heard of this place. I am so glad we decided to eat here, to start there was no wait for a table, staff is super friendly and professional and well trained in hospitality, the food was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and presented properly. My steak was cooked perfectly, very quality and flavorful meat, my wife's bacon cheeseburger was delicious and perfectly seasoned and prepared. Our waiter was amazing he ensured we had no needs for our meal. The price was fair for what we got, which was an amazing dinner experience. Don't forget about dessert, chocolate cake and creme brulee paradise.
