“I’ve come to love this location. When they first opened, getting used to a new layout was a thing but not a problem. It smacked in the middle of my commute to work so it’s super convenient, the employees are always friendly and helpful, and I can generally find what I need and get in and out quickly when I need to. Parking is never a problem.”
“This corner store is amazing good food good hospitality good people very inexpensive one dollar burritos 3 three dollar Mojo’s two dollar corn dogs some of the best business in our little neighborhood very kind and willing to support our community in our neighborhood”
“This is as close to the standard local stores I miss from London with good produce and lots of high quality essentials.
I don't know why there aren't more of them in the USA, but I'm glad it's here.”
“Stopped in looking for soursop, they didn’t have it but did carry some sea moss gel with soursop. Their sea moss collection is top tier, I picked up a couple of the coconut waters. I also stumbled upon their organic dried mango and it was the best I’ve ever had.
The store is very clean and organized. I love the concept on zero waste!”
“One of the most healthiest bread in town and best price at Trader Joe's ???
"Ezekiel Bread" ALL organic/ Non GMO/ zero sugar and cholesterol. ??????”
“A delightful local business! They use a proprietary local roaster for their Ethiopian coffee, and sell the roasted & unroasted beans, and brew the richest espresso for drinks made to order. The owner is also the barista! He is friendly and easy going. They also sell and made breads and dry goods. I haven't seen drink prices on display but each time I am rung up, I am impressed how inexpensive my lattes are, compared to what I am use to elsewhere. Vibe is relaxed and unbothered, genuine and welcoming.”

“We have moved over 20 miles further out away from Portland and yet we still travel to this wonderful produce market, and quite frankly, a whole lot of other things that this wonderful place provides. Today, in the middle of January, we walked into the market and it was relatively quiet for a Thursday morning and everything was displayed so attractively and not a distressed or rotten piece of produce anywhere! Everything so tidy and everything so fresh looking. This place never lets me down. Their workers are always busy grooming and tidying up produce row. They had pickling cucumbers! They had beautiful heads of endive that will make a great Caesar salad! The broccoli was absolutely pristine. I wanted some fruit but I'm so skeptical about ripeness and yet the wife grabbed a perfect pineapple and by Sunday it's going to be so nice and juicy. These folks pay attention to the small details. Nobody wants bruised apples. Nobody wants tired and old produce. Everything here is wonderful. I even had to grab a loaf of cranberry orange bread as they have added more baked goods to entice you as you wait in line. I highly recommend growers outlet for their continued dedication and effort in providing extremely high quality produce.”
“It's alright. A little bit expensive but the attentive shopper will find some deals. Clean and well stocked but not uptightly so. They didn't have 2 of the three spices I came for but found some items to make up for it.”
“My love affair with Joes goes back to the 80’s.
Interesting products. Very good prices and high quality products. Occasionally something is a skimpy amount.”
“Such an amazing place! I live in Seattle but stop here anytime I’m in PDX even if it’s out of the way. There’s stuff here I can’t find anywhere else! And staff are always so helpful and sweet. 10/10”
“This store is incredibly busy whenever I go, but the staff are always calm and friendly, the store is clean, and the shelves are well stocked. How do they do it?!?!”
“Start your grocery shopping here. The prices are great. They often have unusual one off things of interest. Good fruit and veg. Look elsewhere afterwards. The staff are friendly and efficient.”
“Excellent customer service! I was looking specifically for a tea. Twig tea aka kukicha. It was my first time in and I looked thru teas myself but so many...I asked at desk for help locating and a young woman did find for me. Most appropriate!!”
“Really good vegan selection of items, I find prices very reasonable compared to Kroger, new seasons, etc. I come here often for odds & ends but specifically the Dos Hermonos sourdough sandwich bread. Staff are nice. Organic produce is pretty good. Doesn’t smell like nasty meat or seafood. (Unfortunately since shoofly closed, they do not offer vegan pastries anymore ?)”
“La Bouffe has all of the unique difficult to find artisan high quality items with regular staple items too! They carry fresh scrumptious bulk spices like zaatar, sumac, falafel mix, etc. Free olive oil tastings, sometimes wine tastings (during the Montavilla Street Fair). pita, sardines, Turkish Delights, Lebanese olive oil, very large wine selection, too many nummy foods to list them all! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. One of Portland’s best international markets by far!”
“This place has been remodeled and new owner, new name. They are a liquidation store, so there's items close to the expiration date or after. May have items that have been recalled or damaged.
I love looking for bargains.
I will definitely be shopping here again.”
“Selection is always amazing, if you like John's market and check out this little gem. The staff is crazy friendly!
2026 update: under new ownership, beer selection and abundance has significantly dropped, bummer :/”
“Great selection in small space. Baked items and smoked fish samples were very good. We’re going back. ??
Store keeper uses phone translator app to converse with us. Very friendly and helpful.”
“I'm just yr local white guy, but now I know where to go to stock up on spices I can't find at Safeway.
Thank you so much. You've made me a very happy man! Just cooked some food today with the leftovers in my fridge with my new spice purchases.”
“Little shop, but very friendly owner.
Today is my 2nd time using it as I was waiting to get my haircut. I joked that I was only 14 (I'm 63), he looks at me and says I look 30. I'm going to believe him.
There's no liquor here, but you can find beer, wine, seltzers, and snacks here.”
“I just became a co-op member and I'm so glad I did! The bulk section is phenomenal and they don't sell any meat in store. Some items are cheaper than other places, some are more expensive, but I love buying local to support the lovely store. It is a bit small, so be prepared for potential traffic jams/pileups. Masks are preferred in store but not required”
“O M G!!!!
GROCERY OUTLETTTTTT BARGAIN MARKET!!!!!
This place is so awesome!!!!!
Such awesome workers and always so helpful, friendly, and attentive. They are always stocking new items and always super eager to service you should you need! Such cool finds and great affordable deals throughout the whole store! Always recommend and they even have a bottle drop sometimes! :)”
“I've been coming here since I was a child in the early 2000's. Recently moved back into the neighborhood and this is my go-to for asian groceries and deli. Love their hot food! Great price and portions. Surprisingly they have a wide selection despite being such a small store. Love to support this amazing local business! Employees are always smiling and kind every time I go in.”
“One thing I really liked is the neat arrangement of the foodstuffs, it makes it easy to find what you're looking for. I've been to other African markets; even though there's so much stuff in here, the orderly arrangement makes it feel walkable and easy to find what you're looking for. ALSO, they don't tamper with their product's BEST BEFORE unlike some other places I've been to. The manager is also cool, he has a winsome smile and gave us bonus produce. 7-star!”
“Great corner store to have in a neighborhood. They don't carry much on the way of ready-to-go deli or protein shakes, which I'd enjoy.
But they make up for that in general pantry, dairy, and what not.
The layout is a little untraditional or.. corporate, which does allow them to stock more.
It's a clean place with a good set of options.”
“I absolutely love shopping here! The quality of the products is outstanding, and the customer service is top-notch. Everything arrived quickly and exactly as described. Highly recommend this store to anyone looking for great value and a smooth shopping experience!”

“Owner is hard working and friendly, despite the riff-raff that comprise the general clientele. Prices are fairly reasonable, and i prefer that my money go to small independent places like this instead of big chains like 7-11 and Plaid.”

“Searching for Oxtail/Caribbean specific spices, I found Caribbean Spice. Cool spot that has a lot to offer. Found Soursop, Irish Moss and much more. Worth a visit ?”
“Love the store and the staff.
My only gripe: you guys are discontinuing Nutpods Half & Half Alternative 32oz.
Can you PLEASE bring it back?
WHAT IS THE PURCHASING TEAM SAYING?”
“Rinella has such a great selection and great products! Amazing prices too! Everyone was so friendly and helpful too! You can have their products delivered, but I enjoyed stopping by and picking out some things and interacting with the wonderful staff. ?”
