Every couple of weeks we head over to HISSS so she can see the snakes and lizards. Everyone who works there is so nice and the reptiles are clearly very well loved and taken care of. If they aren't too busy, we sometimes get to hold a snake, which my kid absolutely loves. I've also been to snake yoga a couple times and love it. The teachers are fantastic and doing yoga with a snake is an extra kind of calming. When we are ready to be reptile owners, we will definitely be going to HISSS.

She had her spay last week with Dr. Weinstein and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it went. When we went to pick her up, we were expecting her to be groggy and uncomfortable, but she was her same old curious, playful, loving self. She was affectionate to the staff after surgery, which goes to show how well they treated her at all stages of the procedure. Her incision looked absolutely meticulous - a clean, centered line even on day 1! I have the utmost confidence in this clinic and highly recommend them.

7201 SE Milwaukie Ave, PortlandHi all, my boyfriend and I are here in Portland visiting his family and we have a foster pup that ate a corn cob, at the time we did not know what it was. Dr. Bruno recommended giving IV fluids to see if it would move the obstruction farther down and hopefully get his body to digest it. But with no success the rescue that saved him from a major kill shelter in Az decided to do surgery. Dr. Bruno did an amazing job with surgically removing the corn cob and sowing him back up. We are so thankful for him seeing us and taking on our situation. He is an incredibly busy doctor and was getting ready to leave town but saw us anyways. He is also a local vet which we love to support the local community. I called at least 10 other Veterinarian hospital's and it seems as though Portland has been taken over by coperate Veterinarian hospitals. Their prices for surgery start between $3,500 & go as high as $12,000 for just removing an obstruction. That is absolutely ridiculous and it seems as though they are just taking advantage of the general public because once it becomes all corporate people will have no where else to go. This Veterinarian is considerably less expensive than the corporate hospitals. Support this local Vet they are wonderful. Their staff are all great, very caring and also very helpful. Pat is the Vet Technician that did a great job with our foster boy. The other technician are also all wonderful. I can not say enough positive things about this local Veterinarian hospital.

Nearly two years later, I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions we made for him.
I am especially grateful to Dr. Phillip Skelding and the entire team at BluePearl. From the beginning, Dr. Skelding was knowledgeable, compassionate, and patient in answering my questions during a very stressful time.
Most importantly, the outcome has been incredible. Anakin returned to doing the things he loves—hiking, backpacking, exploring trails, and enjoying life. At 11.5 years old, he recently completed a 29-mile backpacking trip, something I never would have imagined when we were facing surgery and recovery.
I am deeply grateful the procedure gave my dog a better quality of life and gave us more adventures together.
Thank you for helping Anakin continue to live such a full and active life. I love having my best friend next to me enjoying life!

Portland Animal Clinic
1755 Southwest Madison Street, PortlandI took my elderly cat in for her first appointment here today and I am so happy I did. The staff was cordial and Dr. Castle was very professional and helpful. The last vet my cat went to was not nearly as helpful and seemed to be more concerned with money than care of the animals, even going so far as to say they may not be the cheapest, but I should remember that you get what you pay for. While I understand that to an extent, I believe that was not the case with our now ex-vet clinic. I would happily pay the prices of the previous clinic for the care from this one.
Portland Animal Clinic was also able to give me her medicine right away unlike the other vet who sent me to a specialty pharmacy that was quite a ways away. I am ecstatic to continue my best friend's care with Portland Animal Clinic and Dr. Castle.

Cathedral Animal Hospital
8904 North Ivanhoe Street, PortlandWe moved to Cathedral a few years ago on the recommendation of a friend. We've seen several of their veterinarians and techs in that time. There's so much positive to say about our care at Cathedral. We mostly see Dr. Jenny - she's the best. She makes such a fuss over our pets, which I'm sure she does with all the dogs and cats but it makes us feel special. We've had some ups and downs with our pets over the years and she's always steered us in the right direction. Very grateful to have her. We also love the techs. We've worked with MJ most recently when our kitten was sick and MJ just seems so delighted to see her. I think they might love our pets more than we do LOL. I was in the clinic last week and one of the front desk staff, Libby, really likes dog. She drew the cutest picture on a sticky note that was an absolute likeness of our girl. It's now framed in our house. Libby also had a magic trick a few visits ago to get our dog to stop crying in the waiting room; she gave her a little bit of spray cheese on a tongue depressor and that kept our dog occupied while we waited to be roomed.

Even their free training and guiding resources on website are of incredible value. This is our puppy’s #1 favorite place in all of Portland :) I highly recommend!

We had nearly given up on trying to correct him. Ashley addressed these issues and sent weekly updates so I could observe my pup’s progress. You can tell she really cares about your dog’s success! Kojak came back well behaved and less nervous. Ashley was flexible in scheduling the follow up lessons and a good teacher. It may seem pricey, but it’s definitely worth the cost. Thank you!!

So far we have completed three group training classes and two private lessons, and Nova is doing great! Ruben helped me come up with a system to fulfill both of their needs and create an environment where both dogs can happily coexist with each other. additionally, he helped me train my puppy to be more polite and calm when guests arrive, and helped me create a very good recall. His in person training sessions were extremely helpful, but mostly the online lessons helped me out so much. He gives you the exact tools to do it yourself at home. No need to go through hundreds of youtube videos that may or may not help. all of rubens online lessons have been used, and to this day i still reference those videos for additional training. My dogs are extremely well behaved now after almost a whole year of using material from Ruben!

As pet parents, we love to see updates on instagram, as well as all the add ons they offer. We have used them for daycare and boarding and appreciate the attention to detail they provide while boarding. They texted us a picture of our dog while boarding that his muzzle was a little pinker then normal, not a big deal at all and I appreciated their communication. We also love that someone spends the night with them. It’s well priced, it can be hard to get a same day reservation because of its popularity, so plan to book at least a day in advance. My pup has been dealing with reactivity towards strangers and dogs since I rescued her. Since our time spent with Poppy, I have had family and friends tell me she is a completely different dog.
Poppy was incredibly patient with us and very attentive (plus my pup absolutely loved her). She aimed to understand our goals, ensured they were realistic for us and and helped us make great strides towards them.
I also very much appreciated how empathetic and kind Poppy was when offering feedback. I learned a lot of effective strategies and tactics to help redirect my dog and give her alternative behaviors to choose. Poppy was right there with us celebrating every little milestone along the way. :)
We are both now significantly more relaxed when we go out into the world. Poppy truly had an impact on our day-to-day life.

Doug walked with me to observe what was going on in my neighborhood. He gave me a procedure to follow and in no time my goldendoodle was ignoring other dogs. Once that was perfected around our complex we went to a nearby park and he walked with me to practice on unruly dogs. Gibbs was taking their ill behavior as an opportunity to play. I am in a wheelchair and he adjusted for my disability. He is a very pleasant person to learn from and we both enjoyed our training sessions. My service dog is an important part of my independence and Dougs' extensive knowledge of dog behavior gave us a tune up on how to handle this one issue as well as general helpful hints on everyday life with a 90lb dog.

I have a 7 month herding mix, Asha, and while I absolutely adore her, I was honestly feeling overwhelmed trying to meet all of her needs while also giving her the structure, enrichment, and training she needs at this important stage of her life.
Since adopting Asha, I’ve tried a few different training options while looking for the right fit, and Meghan has truly been everything I could have hoped for. Asha absolutely LOVES going, and it’s so clear how much she is benefiting from the experience.
Meghan has such a gentle, calm, and knowledgeable approach. She takes the time to understand each dog’s individual personality and needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, and I always feel like Asha is in such good hands with her.
We’ve been going to the Bark and Bloom day training with Meghan. The follow-up “report card” after each day of training is AMAZING. It’s incredibly thorough and includes explanations of what they worked on, videos so I can see what they practiced, and the cutest pictures of Asha! It’s obvious how much time and care Meghan puts into these updates, and they make it so much easier for me to continue working with Asha at home.
Having a young, energetic herding breed can definitely feel like a lot sometimes, and Bark and Bloom has made me feel so much more supported and confident in helping Asha become the happy, well rounded pup I know she can be.

We ate in the outdoor seating and had no regrets. It was shaded by beautiful grapevines. The area was beautiful. The food was delicious. The service was helpful and kind. No complaints at all.
Upon asking if the grapes were real we were informed they were and were told we could try them. They were spectacular.

She is not only a USDA licensed breeder, but a scientist studying hedgehogs at a major university. She could not be more amazing! I live too far to get a hedgehog from her, but she nonetheless has already spent several hours with me on the phone weeks before I'm evening picking up my new baby. I cannot possibly recommend Niki enough - never buy a hedgehog, supplies, or food without consulting her first!

We Adopted a 7 month old little boy who had some sickness previously, Michael Myers; he’s your average puppy and needs some parental love but he just so happened to be the perfect anxiety and asthma dog, the first night we brought him home I had an asthma attack and passed out, he laid with me and gently grabbed the nebulizer to put on my lap and got a family member to me… I hope to rescue another baby just like this one when possible and it’s best for the dog. Thank you thank you thank you and THANK YOU?

SHE TAUGHT ME HOW TO RIDE ANIMALS ARE SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF A PERSON'S LIFE. I WANT TO ADOPT A DOG SO BAD. EVEN ON MY LIMITED INCOME I COULD DO IT.
