GUNNER
5207 Linbar Dr Suite 704, NashvilleThe people behind the Gunner Company are hands down the best in the business. I have ordered several kennels and many accessories from GUNNER, and the service is always incredible, and the build quality of the products is second to none. My dogs will never ride in any other crate than their G1 Large. They love them and so do I.Once my yellow lab, Bear outgrew his G1 Intermediate, I cleaned it up and gifted it to my best buddy who lives across the street, for his birthday, starting off his journey with his brand new 11 week old chocolate lab. GUNNER made me a new name plate for the Intermediate, and even sent over some merchandise to help celebrate his birthday and "welcoming to the pack!"Thank you to everyone at GUNNER, I will continue to spread the awesome words about you for many years coming.GilMobile, Alabama

The price was reasonable and we'll be coming back!

Randy Hare’s Alpha Canine Training Center, Inc.
653 Mainstream Dr, NashvilleWe adopted an Aussie pup, we knew going in that Blu would be a high energy dog and we were okay with that. We could handle her! Well, to our surprise on day one we realized that would be a big task. She would not listen, ate remotes, furniture, prescription glasses, cabinets, trash you name it she ate it. Was with sadness that we considering returning her, as it was just too much.
Then our sign came, we were out to dinner and on a truck, in the parking lot there was Alpha k9 Training. I ran out and stopped them, they probably thought I was crazy. But I needed to talk to them about Blu, and they were absolutely wonderful, and I could tell they loved what they do in training dogs, well by that Sunday Blu was in training for a month. I cannot express into words the changes they were able to do with her, they also trained us in how to continue what they taught Blu. She is a completely different dog, well behaved, listens to commands, doesn't eat what she should not. It was a prayer answered. We highly recommend Randy and Lauren if your dog needs training!

Camp Bow Wow
470 Craighead St, NashvilleWe’ve been bringing our dog to Camp Bow Wow Nashville for years, and it honestly feels like his second home. As soon as we walk in the door, everyone lights up and greets him by name—they know him right away, which makes us feel like part of the family.
Booking through the app is super easy, and I love how smooth the whole process is. We’ve tried other boarding options in the area, even more expensive ones, but nothing has come close to the care and attention he gets here. He’s always so excited to go, which tells me everything I need to know.
One thing that’s really important to us is safety, and I appreciate how seriously Camp Bow Wow takes vaccinations. We know our pup is in a safe, healthy environment surrounded by people who truly care.
We’re so grateful for Camp Bow Wow Nashville—it’s the only place we trust with our dog!

The Dog Wizard
1402 Franklin Ave, NashvilleMy German Shiloh shepherd mix, Juneau, has just returned from a two week board and train at the Dog Wizard. I really can’t say enough good things about Tate and endorse the other reviewers thoughts about his deep knowledge and clear communication style with both Juneau and more importantly me! Juneau is 118 lbs at 11 months and had gotten very full of himself prior to training. He’s returned home much calmer and has quickly made the transition from respecting Tate to respecting me. Juneau needed the e collar training in week two in order to more fully engage in higher level of work. He’s responding at the lowest level of stimulation when need be but for most part I’ve not even needed it. Recall, going to his ‘place’ and responding to OFF when engaging in troublesome is happening with praise and his kibble as a reward. My hope is for Juneau to become a therapy dog. I think with Tates help he’s on his way!

Dog-friendliness: Dog park is hit or miss, people show up at different times. I have seen the most people around 12pm, 3pm daily & Saturdays at sporadic times. Welcoming to all dogs. Some toys are there to freely use like balls and frisbees, i recommend bringing own though. Plenty water and bowls while it isn't cold, they turn the water off as temps drop.

Edwin Warner Dog Park
50 Vaughn Rd, NashvilleAfter coming here for 2 years I feel I can have a strong review.
Our pup loves coming here and we usually see the same dogs most of the times which is nice. In the past, we did have two situations where two different people brought their unfriendly aggressive dogs and did not want to leave. It is clearly stated on the sign that if your dog shows any form of aggression, they must leave. It should not be the friendly dogs that have to leave, which is what we ended up doing because we did not want to risk our pups life.
There are a couple of pros and cons to this park.
Pros:
It is very large which is great
Has a fresh water fountain for the dogs
Has a couple areas that can be shaded from the sun
Cons:
There is a lot of dust because of large areas that don’t have grass
*don’t wear nice shoes. Make sure to wear fully closed toe shoes*
*Don’t wear anything nice. It will get dirty*
There is always this large puddle filled with water and dirt. Unfortunately, since our dog loves water, he likes to dive right in and then he’s covered in mud. Unfortunately, after one evening when we took him there and he drank from it, he became sick fairly quickly after and he was for days and we ended up having to take him to urgent care. He is currently being checked for Giardia.
*I’m hoping that whoever oversees this park can do something about the large hole the dogs get in. Not only to prevent extreme dirtiness but also to prevent sickness from contaminated water.
Overall - a nice park but just like any park there are risks.

I’ve LOVED so many dogs that I fostered but at first didn’t have the resources and wasn’t stable enough as a freshman in college to adopt and I found out through that experience not every dog is suitable for every kind of household and that the only way to know if a dog would be happy in your home to be taken in forever, is to foster. Fostering is such a great experience. And I can say I’ve been a vital part of saving almost 100 dogs and will again when the time comes probably in about 10-12 years. Without fostering I would have never found Mayple. She actually wasn’t my first choice either but she was one that I was matched with based on my household information. And I’m sooo greatful it was her and that I had started fostering with NHA. They provide all that’s needed food, supplies and medical needs they take care of by them. And if you adopt they give you a voucher to VCA where you take them within 2 weeks to get a free exam and work up and they’ll cover certain things to make sure the usual conditions seen in shelters like parasites are taken care of for both you. Unfortunately that’s the case sometimes through no fault of the animal especially but also of NHA. They do treat all their intakes with the meds immediately but sometimes it takes more than one dose. In the case of Mayple she was part of a litter of strays which thank goodness got rescued and taken in by NHA but that’s just a part that comes with living on the streets fending for themselves. Since I fostered I got her before she was even up for adoption and I was actually given the medicine she needed to treat her but she still had to be retreated after adoption which was covered by NHA at VCA and the second dose on top of the free simpirica trio which treats everything from ear mites to mange, worms, fleas, ticks and a heartworm preventative which also treats heartworm if given within the first 2 months of infection. Which we’ve actually kept our dogs on because a year later our other dog also got hookworm, probably from living in a heavily dog walking area with some stray cats but honestly it’s spread by most wildlife and is very common in the soil of urban areas in the south because the climate. Mayple has been perfectly healthy ever since and we continue to go to VCA which is great, I see Dr Maddox and they actually have several doctors so after a few visits you can easily find a doctor for your dog that you both really like and start requesting them. So if your considering adoption or fostering I recommend NHA since the entire process was so simple thru to the end where you get them home and get a second exam to ensure your pets healthy and happy and get everything they need to keep them that way. Vet shopping can be very difficult bc I was researching prior to adoption bc I didn’t know about their deal with vca until
after. But vca is one of the vets that also take trupanion insurance which actually pays the vet directly so for $100 your dog is covered a which is a very streamlined process starting with NGA and their referral to VCA.
