“I had to rent a moving Van several times when packing-up my parents house in Victoria, Texas. I specifically wanted a moving Van because the trucks are too high for my partner to get in/out of. I attempted to rent from several other companies only to find upon arrival that a truck had been substituted. The Austin Lazy Lane location went out of their way to not only be sure I had a van, but the van on their lot that was easiest for my partner to get into. Abigail and Kash are especially helpful and knowledgeable.”
“This was my best Uhaul experience ever! To start, the pickup process was very smooth: Monica, who checked me in, was very personable and even took me outside to my truck to explain everything. The truck worked great and was on a full tank which was a huge plus. Upon returning to drop off my truck the gentleman who I gave my keys to was very friendly as well. Overall great experience!”

“Kind and patient woman checked me in as promptly as my BS allowed it. Walked me through it. (Used Costco for amazing pricing to make it half the price of u haul.) Had to call a number to get in when droppimg off. They walked me through it and had pictures so that I knew the mileage, gas etc. The stuff you should do so you don't get scammed and so both parties are on the same page. (Nice to see paranoia both encouraged, but ultimately unneeded.)”
“I would like to take a moment to recognize an exceptional employee at Penske named Quincy, who went above and beyond to help me during a very frustrating situation on September 28.
I had made a reservation several days in advance for two trucks with liftgates, which I specifically needed for my job. Unfortunately, the original reservation was entered incorrectly, showing a noon pickup time instead of the 4:00 PM pickup time I had requested. As a result, when I arrived at 4:00 PM, I was informed that my trucks had been released and rented to other customers. I was left without the equipment I needed, with eight employees waiting to work and a very stressful situation on my hands.
When I first spoke with Quincy, I was understandably frustrated and upset. I had been renting from Penske for years, and I could not understand how something like this had happened. Despite my frustration, Quincy remained calm, professional, respectful, and incredibly understanding throughout the entire interaction.
Initially, I was told that only trucks with ramps were available, which would not meet my needs. However, there was another truck with a liftgate that had been reserved for another customer who had not yet arrived. Recognizing the urgency of my situation and the impact it was having on my team, Quincy went out of his way to contact the other customer, arrange for that reservation to be released, and make that truck available to me.
That decision made an enormous difference. He helped me avoid an even bigger disruption to my business and allowed my team to move forward with the work we had scheduled.
What impressed me most was not just what Quincy did, but how he did it. He showed genuine concern for my situation, treated me with kindness and respect, and never once lost his composure, even when I was clearly upset. He never asked me for a review, a favor, or anything in return. He simply did what he could to help a customer in need.
This is exactly the kind of employee every company should value and strive to have. Quincy represents the kind of customer service that builds loyalty, earns trust, and makes customers want to continue doing business with a company.
If there is anyone at Penske who deserves a promotion, a salary increase, or formal recognition for their outstanding work, it is Quincy. Employees like him are an asset to any organization, and I sincerely hope management recognizes the value he brings to the company.
Thank you, Quincy, for your professionalism, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile. You turned a very stressful situation into a positive experience, and I truly appreciate everything you did for me and my team.

“We had no problems. The truck was comfortable, and the price competitive. It was ready before our pick-up time. It ran without problems for our move across three days and 1,200 miles. The seats were in fact more comfortable than my car's (a new Civic), and I enjoyed the drive more than normal. Returning the truck went smoothly. Note: Four stars is a lot for me to give. Just because I didn't give it five, doesn't mean there was something wrong. To me, three stars means they did everything well, according to expectation. In fact, Yelp labels it "A-OK." Four stars mean they exceeded my expectations (Yelp's translation: "Yay! I'm a fan."). Five means I cannot think of anything more that they could have done (Yelp: "Woohoo! As good as it gets!"). I guess it was the cost of the insurance that cooled my enthusiasm, insurance that is technically optional but practically necessary. But the overall cost was about the same as U-Haul. It's too bad we interpret anything less than five stars as: something's wrong. It seems most people give five stars for what I would give three stars (everything was fine). Call it "star inflation."”
